Good hotel if you get a great deal on rates.
for me, the rooms were clean and so was the washroom.
Not so good were the shower towels, like they needed replacement and small wash towels were missing.

the hotel is close to the airport and is on the flight path.
Despite multiple glazing- the noise of the planes can be heard throughout the night.
Also the hotel houses a disco- for the first two nights i endured the loud music - which was intermittent but went on well after midnight- the third night i rang and complained. I did not know where the music was coming from- i was offered a room move- but this was at midnight. I should never have been given a room where the disco noise would intrude. Also 20% tax is expected on top of whatever rate is fixed.
The buffet breakfast was good.
Will not stay here again.

This was my 2nd stay, as I returned for the value offered. SPG recognition is good, with upgrade and club access. Staff are helpful.
The hotel is showing signs of age; in its Deira (old Dubai) location, furniture and fixtures. It's in path of planes landing or taking off from a Dubai airport runway. Although planes' and outside noise is rarely noticed in the room, the staff in a service station opposite my room were so noisy with trays and trolleys in early morning (5.30am). Given that I was woken up a couple of hours earlier by the hotel fire-alarm (false), this added insult to injury.
Sound quality at the night-club, as well as that of its guests, leaves much to be desired.

We had to pay extra for an early room ? The safe was laying in a cupboard loose ,on our later return long day out in a worm country we needed a bath ???? Not in this hotel no hot water ,we complained and where given a up grade again free that great but NO HOT WATER? . We have stayed at a Sheraton before and had told our agent that that was a standard that was ok .But we will ave to look at our booking plans in future ..BThomas

Not a great hotel for a visitor only good for one nights stay as its close to the airport. No free wifi in rooms and extra charge for guests visiting you in your room
Very far from the major malls and beach. Would rather pay that extra for better quality hotel where the price u pay includes all services

This Hotel does not compare with a 2 star hotels , rooms are very bad with bad stuffy smell ,and a very cheap tissue and towels .

Rated 3 out of 5 This hotel has no sense of customers; service.
I was there 11/02/2011 to 11/03/2011. Because I am a golden member at SPG, I was upgraded to an extended room. The receptionist didn’t explain to me where I should have my breakfast therefore I thought I was upgraded to the club flour and my breakfast will be in the club lounge, which is usually the case when I am upgraded.
In the morning, I had a guest and we both went to the club lounge to have our breakfast there. While we were picking up our breakfast, someone was shouting at us that we shouldn’t have the breakfast here and we should go to the restaurant at the ground floor. It was totally impressed and my guest. We were basically kicked out from the lounge in front of the other guests there. The way the receptionist talked to us was really rude and impolite. I don’t mind having my breakfast at the ground floor, which I did later. However, the way she handled the issue was not professional at all. I really don’t see a reason why I should consider your hotel for my next visit to Dubai.

Where do I begin this...
1. They got my SPG points calculation wrong.. Did not offer me 250 points as welcome gift (got corrected after a nasty email)
2. Torn bedsheets in the room especially on the spg preferred floors. ofcourse it was stiched but shabbily. Which is what I wanted on my 14 day of my wedding!!
3. Being a gold member where most hotels including Sheratons, in the most rural places provide guests something ie fruit basket or chocolates, this hotel doesnt inspite of knowing that I was hosting my wedding dinner that night in the same hotel!!
4. Would only recommend the place for hosting events NOT for staying overnight. Def not up to the mark of other Sheratons.
Though I have been offered a free upgrade on my following stay by the management in return of the mishaps, I dont think I want to take a chance of getting dissapointed again!!!
I would wish all the luck to GM to get things sorted they really cant get complains from SPG plat/ gold memebers as they give you repeat business.

This was my worst and only negative Sheraton experience in over 10 years. Most staff were generally lacking in courtesy and the manager promised to call me back and never did to address my complaints which were addressed to him on three occasions. My check out experience was a nightmare.

It was a terrible experience on most of the friends, it will be long email if I start documenting, however in nut shell there was no respect or care whatsoever for SPG even I being a platinum member. Simply sad.

The facilities were good, had an issue with loud music from the club but the attitude of staff was exceptional. I have never had better service at a hotel ever...well done!

Can't really explain what happened during our stay @ this "Sheraton". It fees like this hotel was never really certified as a Sheraton brand hotel.
The location: Couldn't be any worse. Right under the DXB south / west runway lies this hotel. No matter where you stay in the hotel, you can hear the noise of the airplanes taking off (not even landing, which is smoother).
The staff: Recognition of Platinum level was minimal with an 'upgrade' to a suite which is basically a regular room with a divider.
Club services: Sub-par with very limited breakfast availability and food which is not fresh.
Internet connection: limited to 3 devices which seems to be the standard at the Dubai hotels, but non of them actually connected. Signal lost in the 5th floor.
Service: After calling for help with the internet and not getting anyone who could help us, we gave up. At check-out no one asked about our experience but instead tried to rush us out.
The night-shift supervisor kept smiling even when I shared with him my disappointment and didn't really seem to a) care, b) follow the logic of paying almost $200 a night of which I couldn't sleep more than an hour due to airplane traffic
Just one big disappointment. Be warned.

I have stayed at this hotel more 20 times over the years including 3-4 times over the last couple of months, the bathrooms needs a proper check, last time there was no hot water and this stay the shower was physically broken when I got into the room and the TV channels were not clear although maintenance tried to fix them with no luck, the maintenance guy even started to hit the TV with his hand hoping this approach would make it work, the check out day I got a call 11 AM from a a very rude receptionist that I cant stay a minute past 12 PM in the room.

The reception staff are totally unfriendly and abrupt and uninterested and unhelpful. They tell me that they had no discretionary powers where some thing not satisfactory they cannot provide to rectify the problem.
They had some sort of attitude problems from the whole of the team. Also had some prejudicial attitudes towards Asian (Indian) clients.
Need menu more menu choices for vegetarians and Indian choices.
Internet is too expensive for the times. No free time of 30 minutes usual for SPG memebers. Will not return to your hotel even for free stay.

I stayed in this hotel on the last week of April we come as a group for our company conference. The check in is really great I noticed that it was arranged before we come. The staffs are all helpful and when we sitted one of the associates offer a welcome drinks which we feel is good welcome for us. Although I can say the hotel furnitures in the rooms is old and the carpet I think it need to be change. But most of all when you feel the good service from the staffs from the restaurant until we check out. I would like to come back in this hotel

The staff is great at the hotel, but the hotel does not hold up to the standards of a Sheraton branded hotel. Its quite old, small gym and old, only has 1 restaurant with a limited menu, Club lounge food is not the greatest and lounge is too small. Towels are old and worn and amenities in room are sparse.
Internet speed is a joke!! You think in a country like UAE who claims it self to be at the forefront of IT you can actually get some decent internet, but not at this hotel.
The hotel simply does not hold up to the Sheraton standards!

Hotel is close to airport, however staff is not very responsive. Concierge is very helpful. Manager/check-in was ok to deal with. Housekeeping, room service staff not good at all. Food/beverage selection very limited. Even restaurant/club hours are not friendly. Room service menu very limited. Rooms definitely need some updating. Definitely not the SPG or Sheraton experience I am used to.

at the time of chick out i had a very bad experience
there was a room service bill that i have paid in cash registered as not paid and some one wrote my family on it as a signature with out me knowing and the reception took a very long time to agree to remove the amount from the bill and there wasnt any concern by the duty manager that my signature was duplicated by one of the staff and there way of apology was simply saying sorry we didn't mean it and i had to rush to the airport because they delayed me and i almost miss my flight

My 9 Green Choice during my 14 days stay was posted to my SPG account and then second day removed. This is disappointing and really not professional.
Also, they way the they treat the guest is disappointing. Only if you deal with the front desk manager you will be recognized and offered the service normally.
Furthermore, discharging the door keys for payment was not professional act for such members. I asked why and simply got the answer that they we want you to come down to the reception and add more deposit.

Being so close to the flight path of planes we did not notice any sound disturbances while inside the rooms. the amenities were excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

staff is friendly and do their best with the resources available to them. However, it seems as if they don't have a way of making things better if they don't have the support. I was disappointed to the fact my room didn't have a working fridge and for as long as I complained to management, the answer was an apology instead of bringing a working unit to my room!! Internet was not working for several hours one of the days. Additionally, the area where the hotel is located is not the best option in Dubai (very old).

Although my room was on the 4th floor, I couldn't sleep before 3 am as the music from the night club was so loud that it was heard in the room. I contacted reception to complain about that, their answer was the music goes on till 3 am!!
Either they have to make better sound proofing or stop the music earlier. People need to wake up and work in the morning, for that a quiet sleep is essential.
It is a pity to see that double glazing prevents noise from the outside, but the noise comes from the inside!

the internet access is limited and regulation is not clear. access to electric plugs is not good. even when available, they are under a frame, and my apple charger could fit NOWHERE.
the room was not cleaned all day, and not until 16:00. and still, there was dust. the cleaners hang along the corridors making noises even behind doors with a 'quiet' sign.
the lobby is regularly sprayed with artificial odors that are unhealthy.
the shower and tap work at the same time, and water is waisted.

Hotel facilities is totally disgusting. Its very old and shubby and the interior design was never inviting to relax and it feels so filthy the time you entered the said area. Hotel staff are less reponsive to hotel guest needs and wants and they are not proactive they don't offer or suggest alternative when we inquire and when we request something that we want and need ie. shuttle, restaurants, etc.

It was our first stay at this location. The staff were friendly, the breakfast buffet could use more variety and the tv in one of our rooms wasn't working properly. Overall we were well received as SPG members which made our stay even more pleasant. The hotel itself is not far away from the train station which makes daily commute hassle free. I'd recommend this hotel if you're staying in dubai for a short period of time and looking for comfort and hospitality :)
