Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff make the difference The staff were great! We recently had to take our dog to the Vet college and this hotel was in a great location for that! Quick to get there, nice walking trails across the street and thankfully they do accept some larger breed dogs!! We were happy we chose the flexible rate option since after going to the vet, surgery wasn't the best option and they couldn't get us in for radiation until the following week. So we were able to cancel the rest of our stay and rebook for the following week. The front desk staff was quick to offer his best wishes for our return to the vet. The next week we checked in and were pleased that they were able to accommodate our request for the same room we had previously. The location was great for being able to get our dog out to the bathroom quickly (she never has accidents, but didn't know how the sedation and radiation would react to her). They even had a little doggy package up in the room ( it was offered the first visit but we declined) it had a couple bowls, bed and baggies. The other thing in the room was a note from the staff, signed by different member's wishing us the best of luck with our dogs appointments. It meant a lot. The little plate of fruit and cheese was much appreciated after a long day of driving as well. The doorman/valet was always pleasant, even the parking lot attendant who would see us leave every morning to drop her off, then go back later to pick her up, stopped us and asked how our dog was doing and said some kind words. I could say that sure the TV could have been a bit bigger, having a guide for what's on would be great without having to pay for it, I WISH that the Starbucks had Venti size of my frappuccino, but I LOVED the fact they had one at all. My room service pizza was great, breakfast omelette was great, and it's within walking distance to many other restaurants if you prefer. I know this review is long, and it mostly just talks about the people at the hotel, but our dog means the world to us and the staff made this tough time a little brighter, which is why the title is Staff make the difference. Truly caring staff can be hard to come by. The ones that do a little extra, even though it's more work for them, just to make your stay a little better. Their value is unmeasurable, so keep it up. Rated 2 out of 5 by Busy hotel at good location Booked this hotel for 4 nights 1 month prior at a prepay rate and they lowered the official price, after contacting the hotel they changed my price to the lower one which was perfect. The guest room was City view but after checked in we found the window was facing a dirty roof with many A/C machines and tubing on it. Someone was working on this roof everyday and we can not even make the curtain open. There was no upgrade at all and no SPG floor either. And the so called city view was definitely a No view. Another issue was parking. The parking lot was behind the hotel and the sign was very unclear. There is only one elevator can down to the underground parking and it takes forever. Room service was good and fast. Location is also perfect and near everything. July 4, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Never again I once believed Sheraton to be of a certain standard but my second stay at a Sheraton has now convinced me to never return to one. Lets start with the room. With all the recommendations about the amazing scenery of the river and it being my first trip to Saskatoon I requested a river view but all I got was a huge tree blocking the view of the river. The bathroom was shockingly designed and extremely small. The aircon kicks in when the room is unoccupied so every time we returned it felt like a freezer. The settings only allowed me to switch between fan on/off and auto. The bed was reasonably comfortable but slightly smaller than a normal king size and the pillows were actually non existent. I may as well have slept without a pillow. So waking up with neck and back aches wasn't my idea of a peaceful nights sleep. The main attraction to choosing the Sheraton was the pool/hot tub. My wife looks forward to relaxing for hours in the hot tub but we spent a miserly 30 minutes because the "hot" tub was warm and never returned. I requested the temperature to be turned up but after 15 minutes there was no change. Other patrons probably spent 5 minutes or less, whilst we were in there, complaining about the temperature as well. The menu did not cater to our tastes nor were they able to make a change to any of the meals. They did have beer though so that's always a plus and the valet service was great and efficient, however, this isn't reason enough to warrant a return to this hotel. Extremely dissatisfied. Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has everything you could ask for We stayed at your hotel this past weekend and were extremely happy with our stay. When we initially checked in and saw all of the hockey families checking in as well, we were a little apprehensive. We were pleasantly surprised by just how quiet our room was. We didn't hear any noise in our room at all from any of the other guests and we were on the same floor as the pool facilities. We used room service, ate in Scarlet and Starbucks. All of the staff was professional and very courteous and answered all questions with a smile and we loved the friendly atmosphere held by all. We'll definitely be back!! March 22, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Platinum benefits Had a recent stay at this hotel as was planning a night downtown anyway, was very pleased upon checkin at the platinum benefits. Free valet parking and automatic room upgrade without having to ask or even beg. Free valet parking is almost unheard of at any downtown hotel. Club lounge was also very well stocked and attendant took time to ask everyone how everything was. The only negatives I can say was wifi was very weak in my room. Also drain was semi clogged in bathroom sink, but not to the point of being unusable. February 21, 2016
