The rates were significantly lower than other Starwood properties in the area so I can't complain too much but you should be aware of what you're getting for your money. The service at the front desk and bellstand was inconsistent - from very helpful to begrudgingly accomodating. The property is in great need of an update - the walls are thin (heard the TV next door all night), the room lacks electric outlets and the thermostat is the old knob model which is hard to regulate. The Club Room hors d'oeuvres lacked quality and variety. If it weren't for the rates, I would have never considered staying here.

- Ridiculously slow elevators.
- Slow check-in service.
- I had a problem with the room TV and was told by Front Desk that tech would come to the room. Nobody ever showed up.
- Paper thin walls - so the couple next door woke me up at 1 am. Lovely.
All of this I would have just ignored, (and never come back again), except you the front desk guy who promised to send me my bill via email never did. So, when I called today, October 30, at 12:20 pm, the guy who answered the Front Desk, asked to put me on hold. Then he disconnected me. When I called back, he didn't even answer the phone, he just put me on hold again. This went on 2 more times, until I finally gave up and waited ... until the hotel was ready ... to answer my call ... and do what they promised 4 days ago.
Not Starwood worthy. Not even Sheraton worthy.

Having stayed here before, I found the rooms to be nice but the service could use some improving.
I came here after a 20 hour flight from Singapore. After checking in, I called front desk to ask for a shaving kit, a dental kit and some drinking water (there was none in the room). About 45 minutes later, these still had not arrived. I called front desk again and this time, I was transferred to the room service line. Room service said this was not their responsibility and said they will check with front desk. After another 15 minutes, a hotel staff comes up with only shaving cream and my water. I had to ask them to get the other items again.

I tried this hotel again .... should not have
room had broken drywall, phones didn't work, bathroom smelt musty and this was on the Club Level!
Used my personal phone to call for maintenance on the room phones, was promised they would be fixed by noon the next day ... maintenance never came.
lights were unplugged from the walls
Bar food was good - but the staff was in a hurry to get us out so they could go home ... order was slightly messed up
Breakfast was HORRIBLE. poor quality, poor service. dirty uniforms on servers and cook staff

Room rates are cheap here which is the reason I chose it. The hotel is dreadfully old and the rooms could use an upgrade although the beds were really comfortable.
The hotel is close to Metro stop which is nice because there is nothing to do where the hotel is located.
There was no one to help me to check in in the SPG line when I got there so I had to wait in line with everyone else.
Otherwise it was a nice stay and I got to rack up a bunch of Green Choice points.

I have one huge complaint about this hotel concerning the obvious removal of the Fox News Channel from the TV coverage in the rooms. I've stayed at this hotel many times without any problems and then all of a sudden management decides they should drop the number one rated news network because it must not agree with their political views. I will not be back.

Staff was great. Very convenient. Good amenities.
My gripe is the staff didn't point out the green program. I thought I was participating, but I didn't realize I needed to place the notice on my door each day. I was frustrated with that. I should have read it over closer I know.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great for guests visiting Arlington and all of DC! Right across the street from the metro, safe area, lots of shopping and dining options, affordable, great fitness area, wonderful staff!!
