Rated 2 out of 5 by HRWT Time to refurbish this hotel
This hotel has old, outdated styling and very poor wireless internet service. The hard-line internet cables had been cut off at the back of the connectors on the desk. Business travelers will find this service totally useless for calling home or watching a movie.

When checking in we were asked if we would allow the hotel to move us to another room after one night in order that they could keep a school group together. We agreed, the following morning a bill was under our door indicating our visa had been charged for one night. After staying our 3 remaining nights we received a bill charging us for the full 4 nights. We questioned this at the front desk (Rudy) and were informed we wouldn't be charged for the first bill. It remains to be seen if this is correct when we receive our visa bill the end of May.

Three words, excellent customer service. We held our 2 day meeting here in November 2013. Tim, from the Banquets Dept is TOP NOTCH. He and his crew went the extra mile for us. Tim did everything possible to make our meeting a success. He went above and beyond the duty. If you are looking for a place that will take care of your needs and then some - work with Tim and you wont regret it.

First of all, the check-in desk was hard to find and the two gentlemen at the concierge desk offered no assistance.
At check-in, one agent was on a call while two others were standing there talking. I finally had to ask for assistance. I was upgraded to a club level room which was nice, but when I tried to extend our stay for another night (a Saturday night) I was told I could not get the courtesy upgrade and would have to pay a higher rate to stay in the same room or move to a different room. We decided to check-out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SPG60614 Run down; PAINFULLLY slow internet
I've been at this hotel for three days at a conference. On the plus side, the staff are very gracious and helpful. But the hotel is run down. The elevators are very slow, and there are long waits. The internet service is the slowest I've experienced in recent memory (speedtest clocked at 0.17 MB which is barely faster than dial-up!). Hotel has kind of a dreary appearance. My guess is that almost all of the guests here are attending conferences and thus did not choose the hotel, so there is no real incentive to keep the hotel up to snuff. The Sheraton lounge had one of the poorest breakfasts I've ever seen. For example, the coffee has no real dairy creamer -- just coffee mate and powdered creamer. The breakfast selection is some melon, frozen or powdered scrambled eggs (like I had in college), and bacon.

I was turned off by my very first encounter at the hotel. A large group was checking into the hotel; it was being handled very efficiently. However, their busses blocked the entrance, so I had to manuever into the hotel. When I got in, two "bellman," "doorman" (their title was never explained to me) walked by me as I stood helpless not sure what to do with my car, which was not in the normal place to check in. They came out again talking to each other and refused to make eye contact with me. I went to the front desk and the gentleman there was very helpful, but I was standing right in front of him and annoyed at the initial contact. The service staff did what they were asked, but made no effort to go out of their way on their own. That is why I cannot recommend this hotel. Ultimately, an expensive "motel room" in the DC area.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RollTide Great Hotel, Horrible Internet
The staff, the room, the gym and the lounge are all top notch. The beds are very comfortable and I always get room upgrades. The drawback, and it is a show-stopper for me, is the internet. The internet, when it would stay connected, is painfully slow. The internet outweighs everything else in a hotel for my particular needs. I will not stay here in the future. I hoped they would fix this, but it seems to be even worse.

My boyfriend and I wanted a small getaway for New Year's Eve. The front desk was very nice, the parking attendant was extremely helpful. And any time we walked past a Sheraton employee, they greeted us with a smile and a hello. We enjoyed our room, it was nice and comfy. The only thing we wanted was a closer microwave and a freezer in the refrigerator. Besides that our stay was nice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GZZ123 Rooms are nice but service could be improved
Having stayed here before, I found the rooms to be nice but the service could use some improving.
I came here after a 20 hour flight from Singapore. After checking in, I called front desk to ask for a shaving kit, a dental kit and some drinking water (there was none in the room). About 45 minutes later, these still had not arrived. I called front desk again and this time, I was transferred to the room service line. Room service said this was not their responsibility and said they will check with front desk. After another 15 minutes, a hotel staff comes up with only shaving cream and my water. I had to ask them to get the other items again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JRP04 You get what you pay for
The rates were significantly lower than other Starwood properties in the area so I can't complain too much but you should be aware of what you're getting for your money. The service at the front desk and bellstand was inconsistent - from very helpful to begrudgingly accomodating. The property is in great need of an update - the walls are thin (heard the TV next door all night), the room lacks electric outlets and the thermostat is the old knob model which is hard to regulate. The Club Room hors d'oeuvres lacked quality and variety. If it weren't for the rates, I would have never considered staying here.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mway40 Fitness Center
Let’s focus on the good . . . first. If by chance while visiting this particular Sheraton you are fortunate enough to encounter Ranjit and/or Arie you will undoubtedly be in for a treat! They are professional as well as courteous and answered questions in detail when they very well could have guided me to the concierge. Additionally, they immediately offered me several remedies for an uncomfortable incident that transpired during my stay! Clearly, they go above and beyond to provide the kind of service one would anticipate with staying at a Starwood property!
The room was small and dated but quaint. I would have left my description at just that . . . until around 6 in the morn when I learned that the fitness center is right above room 1404! I heard every foot hit the treadmill and every weight hit the floor. Of course, I immediately jumped out of bed, adorned my athletic gear, trekked to the 15th floor and joined those overzealous, health conscious show-offs! NOT!!! Yes, yes, it’s true; the fitness center is above a club level room! Additionally, the Internet connection in the room is on turtle mode. Personally, I think it is slow because they do not want the guests to write reviews- just kidding. Did I mention that housekeeping walked in my room without so much as a knock, not once but twice and no apology! Ranjit and Arie are my heroes!
This hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, I would give them the opportunity to woo me. After all, we all deserve second chances!

I really enjoyed my stay in Crystal City staff was very nice, but when I called to make the reservation I told them I was coming in town for the Memorial Day weekend to see the WALL that all our Vets gave there life to make us free and had ask the clerk if we could have three in a room and have a roll-a-way bed and was told yes. When we got to the hotel and check in was told a different story. Was told could not put a roll-a-bed in a room with two double beds. This left us in a pickle because we were already there and didn't know what to do, just so happens one of our American legend members had a room with one king size bed and was able to put a roll-a-way bed in his room. The other think was that we on motorcycles and was told we had to pay $22.50 a night for parking and was told that we could only have two bikes per space. As you know we could of put three or four bike per space and save some of the parking for other guess, but it sound like the Hotel just wanted to make sure that they had all the spaces filled for the money.
I would rate the room and the Hotel 5 stars if it wasn't for the trouble we had checking in and the parking.
Thank you for your time

Rated 2 out of 5 by pat1 disapointing
I have stayed here before in Octobert 2012 and had a good experience, this time however it was not! Starting when I arrived Friday afternoon around 4pm, there was no place to park to check in, the gentleman that was directing traffic out front had me move twice to allow cabs and other vehicle to drive thru, this was all in the matter of a few moments, finally I asked why I couldn't just park in the garage since i was checking in, he agreed that would be a good solution! Then Saturday morning at breakfast it was less than satisfactory, we did the buffet but had few choices and this was early before 10AM, paid alot for a little!!! So Sunday we asked to order from the menu, the staff clearly was not happy with that choice because they gave us a menu then forgot about us for > 20 minutes, finally we got up went to seek out food and beverage mgr, NONE available, so we took our complaint to the front desk. We ended up checking out and driving somewhere else for breakfast before getting on the road home!!!! NOT HAPPY with the service provided on this trip won't stay here again, there is another Sheraton just up the hill from the Pentagon, last time we stayed there the resturant was great will try them next time or just go to a different chain, there is plenty to choose from.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DreadPirate Hotel could use some updating
This hotel is nice, and for the most part meets with the Sheraton standards. However, there are some features about it that could use some updating. First off, the thermostat control in the rooms is completely analog and has no automatic features - so you are constantly adjusting it to make your room comfortable. Second, the fact that you have to validate your parking with the bellman rather than at the front desk with every stay is rather annoying - one extra step and delay before getting to your room. And once you get there you will have to deal with atrociously slow internet connections. Hope to do any video streaming while you are here? Forget it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ccurly Horrible Hospitality! Not Up To Sheraton Standards!
First of all, I am a Starwood Gold Member and I have stayed at many Sheratons. This would have to be the worst one I have ever stayed at. Where do I begin…
1. I booked my room six months in advance and I didn't notice the date was off by one day. Probably an error at booking that I didn't catch until a week before my visit. I called reservations and they changed the date, but the rate changed but they sent an email to the hotel informing them of the error and told me the hotel manager could and should adjust the rate.
Well along comes Dragan,(or Draken) the assistant manager, who basically said tough luck, can't and won't adjust the rate. OK, he finally did adjust the rate by $20, not the $50. when I informed him that I would be addressing this on Trip Advisor.
2. Dragan, in a VERY defensive and defiant tone continued to inform me that starting March 1, Sheraton Hotels cannot give upgrades to the club lounge according to the NEW Starwood Program. It would have been better for him to have just said, sorry, we're full and I can't give you the upgrade. I had an upgrade the night before in another hotel so I was confused by this and called SPG and they said, Huh? that is the discretion of the hotel manager and there weren't any new rules.
3. My reservation was made for two adults and a child. When we arrived they informed me that we had a king and they were all out of roll aways. My son had to sleep on the floor!
4. The rooms were small and the hotel lacked luster- really run down for a Sheraton!
5. The best thing about this hotel was the exceptional attendant, Ernest, who greeted us when we arrived. Made an exception for us to park our rental for one hour until we could return it to the airport. And, dropped us off near a restaraunt form the airport shuttle. Super nice guy!!
My recommendation- find another hotel!

Rated 5 out of 5 by FLASunshine Crystal City Sheraton THE BEST in Customer Service!
From start to end - absolute perfection for stay November 17-20, right before Thanksgiving holiday. Phone reservations, fast & very friendly. Check-in the same.
We were very early arriving to the hotel in the morning, way before check-in. We wanted to start site-seeing in DC, so not a problem at all for us. Front desk told us we could check our bags with Concierge, & the front desk would call us to let us know when our room was ready. While we were on the subway - we got a call about 45 minutes later, saying it was ready - even being as early as it was. We continued to site-see, but I was very impressed with the customer service already in their efficiency.
Concierge staff incredibly friendly & helpful the entire time we were there. Always greeting us in the lobby, always smiling & very engaging.. My young son enjoyed that as well - being recognized with a greeting each time we passed by. He felt quite important. Mr. Lyles & every single concierge staff we saw made us feel incredibly welcome.
On our last day we checked out in the morning & were quite pleased that the concierge staff again checked our bags for us while we spent the rest of the late afternoon site seeing again, even after checking out in the early morning.
Every single staff member, be it via the phone or in person was incredibly helpful & courteous. The customer service was just beyond what I had expected.
The ease with which one can visit the DC area from this hotel was such a plus, but what I'll tend to remember more, was the customer service. Excellent! We were even surprised with a room service welcome that night.
The hotel room was very clean, & like everyone else has mentioned - the bedding was to-die-for. Very luxurous feel to it after a long day of walking around DC sites.
Absolutely will stay at this hotel again. There are other major hotels surrounding this one - but I have to attest to the fact that this one really treated us like royalty. I've already mentioned it to several of my family members & friends in the DC/VA/MD area as well.
Thank you again - wonderful stay!

Rated 4 out of 5 by RoadWearier Well done!
Visiting this Sheraton location for the first time on business. All-day meetings really take it out of you, so I'm looking for a restful retreat at the end of the day. With that in mind, here's my review:
Room: spacious, clean, and I could open the windows!
Internet: free wi-fi, something many 4- and 5-star hotels can't seem to figure out
Bed: outstanding. Ahhh.
Shower: powerful and hot. Ahhh again.
TV: adequate, but I wish you had had TBS to watch the baseball playoffs.
Staff: friendly and very helpful
Room service: quick and excellent
Meeting facilities: room, tables/chairs, A/V, and service are all outstanding.

Stayed at the hotel for 11 months on and off. Hanna at the front desk is a superstar, and always made me fell welcome. Price varies greatly, and some stays felt a bit pricey. Great location for an easy commute. to DC or the Pentagon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TomL A standard Sheraton, but everything done well
This is a plain Sheraton hotel, nothing fancy, interesting, or unusual. But it is operated well with friendly staff, clean and nice rooms, and a good breakfast (free with the rate that I paid). It is a good location for people with business in the area. There is not much nearby for tourists, but a Metro station with quick access to downtown DC is only a block or two away. Also, the Crystal City underground shopping center is nearby, which has many restaurants and small shops. The only criticism I can think of is that it would be nice to have brighter reading lights next to the bed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ConditionOne Decent hotel close to DC
The Sheraton Crystal City is a high turnover hotel, so I had low expectations. As a plat, I was upgraded to a Club Level room – I don’t think this hotel has suites. However, the Lounge is closed during the weekends. I was impressed by the room, which was clean, bright, and had modern looking furniture. My only complaint is that the desk has no electrical outlets nearby, and it was 4 feet to the nearest power strip.
With a solid room, and great location next to the metro station, I would rate this hotel as above-average for a Sheraton property, and would definitely stay here again.

Font office staff are very accomodating from check in to check out. Great location!
The club lounge breakfast selection is an improvement and very glad that it now includes oatmeal/fruits. Perhaps a better selection of sausauge/bacon/hard boiled egg would make it exceptional.
Work out room is also an improvement and better selection. Extra nautilus machines would be nice.
Reccomend housekeeping staff to not be too agressive in getting you out of the rooms.

The hotel wasexcellent, very friendly check-in, `and room nice. My only problem was that I like to watch Fox News Channel, it was listed as channel 28, however I could not tune to it in my room. Went from channel 27 to 29. Otherwise I would use this hotel in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by FrontDeskHoldingPattern Sub par Starwood property
- Ridiculously slow elevators.
- Slow check-in service.
- I had a problem with the room TV and was told by Front Desk that tech would come to the room. Nobody ever showed up.
- Paper thin walls - so the couple next door woke me up at 1 am. Lovely.
All of this I would have just ignored, (and never come back again), except you the front desk guy who promised to send me my bill via email never did. So, when I called today, October 30, at 12:20 pm, the guy who answered the Front Desk, asked to put me on hold. Then he disconnected me. When I called back, he didn't even answer the phone, he just put me on hold again. This went on 2 more times, until I finally gave up and waited ... until the hotel was ready ... to answer my call ... and do what they promised 4 days ago.
Not Starwood worthy. Not even Sheraton worthy.
