Rated 4 out of 5 by Room Not Ready, Would Not Provide Cot Our room was not ready even though we arrived past check in time. No complimentary gifts were offered for the inconvenience. Then, we were told that a cot could not be provided, resulting in me having to sleep on the floor. August 18, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by noisy & poor showers The walls and doors must be made of paper - because every little sound from outside the room is heard in the room. Also, the shower temperature would fluctuate widely. It would be scalding hot one second then ice bucket cold the next. Apparently, whenever someone flushed a toilet this would cause the shower temperature to change. Since it's a big hotel, this was incessant. The location near downtown and near running trails is nice - and the staff were great. The food was good - but the ambiance in the restaurant was terrible. A very depressing place to try to eat. It's like black hole. Probably a decent enough option for a moderate convention as it's close to downtown and has lots of meeting space. But it's one of the worst Sheraton's I've ever stayed at. Through the wall air conditioners are noisy - which isn't so good for getting a sound sleep - at least for me. August 15, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent stay in Madison Located just outside of downtown Madison, this hotel sits adjacent to Lake Monona and almost within eyesight of Monona Bay which offers a variety of boat rentals (kayak, SUP, paddleboats). The Bike rental/sharing program has a rack of bikes just outside the front entrance. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to several downtown locations, running every 30 minutes. The room was clean and nicely furnished. Beds are comfortable. Wireless Internet worked well. Nice fitness room with several running/biking machines, free weights, 2 benches, and a Universal type weight machine. The AC unit is a bit noisy and would turn on, making the room quite cool, and then shut off until cycling again. Ample free parking around the hotel. Easy access to University of Wisconsin. We enjoyed the UW Dairy Bar ice cream offerings (twice). Also truly enjoyed a lunch at the Old Fashioned, and a dinner at Lao Laan Xang (small Asian restaurant with very tasty food). Really enjoyed our trip to Madison, and appreciated great accommodations at the Sheraton. August 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Enjoyed our stay We attended a convention here and stayed in a king club floor room. The only issue was outlets near the bedside table. We have a travel power strip and so could juggle our electronic needs to some extent ie: sound machine, phone, clock. But an open outlet on each side of the bed would have been better. We like to watch movies on the PC in bed. The hotel had a good convention space which was clean and had all the chairs, water, etc we needed. The club lounge frequently ran out of food causing a wait time, but overall quality was good. Breakfast was far better than evening snacks. Overall a good stay. July 22, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Convention hotel We come here twice a year for a convention. This year we were in the same room for both times. The lights in the bathroom section did not adequately light either time although I did mention it the last time. This one I did not bother. The duvet on one of the beds was stained with something as was the dust ruffle. There was a thick cobweb attached to the ceiling and the curtains. One of the areas rented for the convention the air conditioner was broken and although they tried to fix it is was not fixed. It made the area very uncomfortable to be in. The food was good but overpriced and there wasn't enough wait staff. The lights in the pool area kept going out and coming back on. July 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great experience! We stayed here a Saturday night for a badger football game. Really was pleased with the shuttle service to the game as well as the free shuttle service to downtown. Bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly. we stayed at the club level and was impressed with the breakfast/drinks and snacks included in the rate. Loved the bartender in the lounge. Overall an awesome experience with a reasonable room rate. Will be staying here again in the future.. November 18, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a good hotel Not a very good hotel to stay for EPIC training. They do not provide shuttle to the airport on your last day, even though you have put your name down on the list. they prefer to take guests to downtown and i have to catch a cab to the airport August 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great weekend we stayed with friends, and went to the Madison Farmers market on Sat. The shuttle service was such a nice option. We loved our driver Greg (not sure), very courteous. It was so nice not to have to have the hassle of finding a place to park. Besides that, we stayed at this property many, many times. Always clean, and very comfy. We did not dine here, so I can't comment. August 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Staff negligence We are a Starwood member and stayed at the Sheraton Madison fora wedding being held there. Our reservations were made months ahead as part of the wedding block. I called ahead of time to ensure that we were next door or across the hall from my daughter's family as we were helping care for their young children, and request an early check in. When we arrived at 11 a.m. We were told our room wasn't ready yet. Ican understand that. But, we checked several times before going to the wedding to see if our room was ready yet. When we finally did get to check in we were assigned a room in another wing. We didn't accept that since we needed to be close to our daughter's room. They put us in another room down the hall but we no longer had the king room that we requested. The staff really didn't show any concern or care for our situation. I feel that as a Starwood member we would have gotten more service than we did. We are very disappointed in our experience. January 28, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Suites We were a bit disappointed that there were no blow dryers in the room. We were in the suite and most certainly expected to see one in there. The suite itself was comfortable, large and very clean. The breakfast brunch seemed a bit pricey but the food was good. August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVED LOVED LOVED my stay @ Sheraton!! I just loved everything about my stay at the Sheraton the week of March 3, 2013. I loved the big things...the nice lobby, lounge, restaurant, amazing bed & pillows..but LOVED the little things. The fact that the pool had 1) music piped in and 2) nice towels and not the standard white cheap thin towels you usually see at pools. The fact that the sink was not in the bathroom, the mirrors are not steamed up and you can get ready quicker. There was a finger nail Emory board avail in the bathroom and I had broken a nail and desperately needed that! The amazing A/C vent at the 6th floor elevator...allowing me to cool off after rushing to get ready in the morning! The fact that I rec'd a reward for forgoing housekeeping, which I generally do anyways! The Starbucks coffee available. The staff was super nice, Katie, Eric & Brandi...awesome!...Staying at this hotel on this trip to Madison was definitely my highlight for my trip and they exceeded my expectations! It no longer felt like a business trip, but more like a vacation! March 7, 2013

Excellent service and on my next trip in the area I will make the 10 min detour to return and get the quality... A1 job for yje Sheraton Staff.... August 2, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Below standard I highly advise you avoid this place. Typically I've found that category rankings aren't truly an indicator of quality, this place being the exception. There aren't any other starwood hotels in the Madison area but had I not redeemed points to stay here - I would've stay at a different brand hotel. My stay here was awful from beginning to end. Yours may be different but why take the chance. Ironically there was a lady in front of me at check out that was displeased about her stay as well. Beware July 26, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Average stay Waited 10 minutes to check in despite the fact that we were in the gold/preferred line and others were being helped before us. It appeared only one person could manage that line. Front desk staff seemed confused and lacking knowledge. Had club level - room key didn't work for club room so had to go back and re-key. Showtime didn't work. Stay wasn't terrible but at the same time not all impressed. July 28, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what you expect as platinum This is an old feeling property. The elevators take really long time and it seems they only run one at a time. Pool deck was closed. No platinum recognition. The rooms are old and worn, with ancient ac units that run super loud. The lounge food is unappetizing with very poor selection, in fact the breakfast didn't even offer any pastries. Will avoid this property in the future. July 25, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by House Cleaning Overall, the house cleaning was good, but the last night when I returned to my room at approximately 10pm, the room was half cleaned. The room was slightly picked up, but the bed wasn't made, trash was still in the waste basket. The next morning when I attempted to make coffee, I noticed the used filter was still in the coffee machine and the coffee machine was dirty from the day before. Needless to say, I couldn't make coffee July 21, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Hotel with Great Improvements to Club I have stayed at this hotel numerous times, it is usually pleasant. However, this last time I stayed I could tell a definite improvement in service. The Club service in particular is much improved, it isn't the greatest in the world (one dilapidated PC, no espresso machine) but it is quite decent, and the staff were friendly. Our room had a slight odor, but nothing extreme, the air conditioning and heating were excellent! It is a great location to get just about anywhere in Madison quickly, I will be coming back. Rated 2 out of 5 by Noisy Room I could hear a party in another room coming through the ventilation system. This was not the muted sound you sometimes hear through a wall, but sounded like I had turned on my TV. The party went from about midnight until after 1 AM. I called the front desk twice, but they were unable to locate the source. I appreciate that I was given a free breakfast as compensation; however, it was not worth the loss of a night's sleep. The hotel needs to fix this problem before I will return. November 11, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Need a lot of improvement The hotel was not able to provide me the room I reserved. They just dumped me into crampy double bed room even being a SPG Gold member. When asked about it Front desk staff was so arrogant and replied 'This is what we have for now'. I had to write a complain to the manager to change the room. Wireless service was totally unreliable and hotel does not take any resposbility of the complains. Not a suitable hotel for international traveller. November 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Staff was great Overall I was pleased with the hotel. However, I did have a couple complaints. There is no ventilation in the bathroom, and we couldn't even crack open the window. Our air conditioning quit working which added to the stuffiness. When I told this to the front desk clerk on my way out, she apologized and offered to buy me a Starbucks, which was right in the lobby (although they are only open until noon). July 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Was OK The Sheraton in Madison was very nice. Most of the staff was police but did not seem to go out of their way to help guest. Food was extremely high in price. Rooms were clean and staff did a very good job. Did not explain SOG program. I would stay again if in Madison. July 18, 2014
