Rated 4 out of 5 by Water scam Beware the water scam. Two bottles of water. Both have tags around the neck. The first says free. The second, you think is the same. But instead it says the second water costs $3.50! Seriously???!!!! Spend over $200 on a hotel room and they bait and switch you out of $3.50 for a 50 cent bottle of water. You won't find this out until you get your bill via email (and you are heading down 81). Shame on them. April 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfort and Quality The Sheraton Syracuse Hotel and Convention Center is a gem. From the moment you step through the door you are met by the courteous and friendly staff. Check-in is a breeze and you are ensconced in the comfort of your room in no time at all. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The attention to detail is incredible in that all perceived needs of the traveler are at finger-tip. The beds are delightful, cozy, comfortable and deliver the best nights sleep. Finally, the Hotel Restaurant "Rachels" is not to be missed. Excellent service by friendly staff and amazing food delightfully presented. All-in-all an excellent experience. My next trip to Syracuse, no questions where I'll stay! April 21, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by Close to University, Popular for Tailgating My wife and I stayed in this hotel for two nights after driving down from Canada for Black Friday. We wanted a hotel that was central to Syracuse, to hit the outlets and other shopping malls. Location-wise, I don’t know Syracuse but it was close to a major highway - and right next to the university. A few one-way streets, but with Google Maps it was easy to locate. Being near the university, there are many shops, restaurants, and a pharmacy right within walking distance. Check-in was quick, and we were given a room on the club floor; easy to access our floor, which was interesting. The elevators are away from the front desk - near the front doors - and not fully visible, which I found strange. Our room was nicely appointed as a standard Sheraton room, and the club lounge was a nice surprise. There was a slightly better breakfast than I’ve seen at other locations, with the standard evening honor-bar service and snacks. I didn’t know it until the day we checked out, but the hotel is very popular for tailgating parties - a radio station had setup their broadcast in the lobby in the morning, and I wish we hadn’t been in such a rush as there was going to be food served in the lobby. Definitely a big football city! All-in-all, I’d stay there again. February 16, 2015

Rated 3 out of 5 by Be aware... We were overnighting between Chicago and Boston and had specifically booked a King jr suite for our family of four. We got in around 8:30pm with our 5 and 9 year old and were told we were upgraded to a "Parlor Suite" on the 6th floor. What we didn't realize was that this meant a queen murphy bed and a sofa bed. My 6'6" DH and I cannot fit in a queen. Room layout was just weird. Too late and too tired to do anything about it but it felt like a bait and switch. It was explained at check-out that the king suites are on the 3rd floor and there was a late party booked on the 2nd floor so they were likely trying to ensure a good night's sleep. Front desk was very sweet about it after the fact and comp'd us breakfast. Would rather have had the good night sleep by not falling off an uncomfortable bed. Avoid room 633. Staff otherwise helpful and friendly. December 1, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awsome Parents Weekend! Knowing that it was Parent's Weekend at SU I wasn't expecting their usual high caliber of service. Boy was I wrong! Every aspect of my stay was outstanding - room was available and waiting before regular check-in time (and lovely) , the hotel was spotless, staff was more than gracious, everything was comfortable yet professional with high end service. I often stay here when I'm in town, although I have stayed at other hotels - but never again. If they can pull this off on one of the most hectic and high demand weekends of the year this is the only place I will stay in Syracuse! November 11, 2014
