Rated 1 out of 5 by Support for the local community I'm an SPG member/SU alum/cyclist/entrepreneur and local to Syracuse. On Friday 4/10 I stopped into the business center to use one of the computers for less than an hour (I've done this from time to time over the years without issue). In this case I left the ischool and realized there was something else I needed to do and was in a hurry. I left my cycling gear on so perhaps I appeared a bit rough around the edges? The business center was EMPTY! Within about 20 minutes a women asked me if I was a guest and I replied no, but I was just doing a few email things and would be finished shortly. Some time later a man approached and encouraged me to wrap up. I understand that the center is not an open lab, however, how about asking me who I am and what I'm doing? How about creating a positive experience? Particularly when there is availability in the business center and I am quietly using a computer!! I was wondering that if I'm the biggest cause for concern, then perhaps this person needs more tasks to do. Please note that I do travel quite a bit and another major hotel chain (platinum member) is my preferred hotel but I do use others when they are unavailable. Ultimately these folks were polite, however, any way you slice it getting thrown out is an unpleasant experience. If you want to see my tweet with pictures, let me know. (Originally I put the link for the tweet here, but the review was rejected 24 hours later because of a link {head shake}). April 13, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by Close to University, Popular for Tailgating My wife and I stayed in this hotel for two nights after driving down from Canada for Black Friday. We wanted a hotel that was central to Syracuse, to hit the outlets and other shopping malls. Location-wise, I don’t know Syracuse but it was close to a major highway - and right next to the university. A few one-way streets, but with Google Maps it was easy to locate. Being near the university, there are many shops, restaurants, and a pharmacy right within walking distance. Check-in was quick, and we were given a room on the club floor; easy to access our floor, which was interesting. The elevators are away from the front desk - near the front doors - and not fully visible, which I found strange. Our room was nicely appointed as a standard Sheraton room, and the club lounge was a nice surprise. There was a slightly better breakfast than I’ve seen at other locations, with the standard evening honor-bar service and snacks. I didn’t know it until the day we checked out, but the hotel is very popular for tailgating parties - a radio station had setup their broadcast in the lobby in the morning, and I wish we hadn’t been in such a rush as there was going to be food served in the lobby. Definitely a big football city! All-in-all, I’d stay there again. February 16, 2015

Rated 3 out of 5 by Be aware... We were overnighting between Chicago and Boston and had specifically booked a King jr suite for our family of four. We got in around 8:30pm with our 5 and 9 year old and were told we were upgraded to a "Parlor Suite" on the 6th floor. What we didn't realize was that this meant a queen murphy bed and a sofa bed. My 6'6" DH and I cannot fit in a queen. Room layout was just weird. Too late and too tired to do anything about it but it felt like a bait and switch. It was explained at check-out that the king suites are on the 3rd floor and there was a late party booked on the 2nd floor so they were likely trying to ensure a good night's sleep. Front desk was very sweet about it after the fact and comp'd us breakfast. Would rather have had the good night sleep by not falling off an uncomfortable bed. Avoid room 633. Staff otherwise helpful and friendly. December 1, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awsome Parents Weekend! Knowing that it was Parent's Weekend at SU I wasn't expecting their usual high caliber of service. Boy was I wrong! Every aspect of my stay was outstanding - room was available and waiting before regular check-in time (and lovely) , the hotel was spotless, staff was more than gracious, everything was comfortable yet professional with high end service. I often stay here when I'm in town, although I have stayed at other hotels - but never again. If they can pull this off on one of the most hectic and high demand weekends of the year this is the only place I will stay in Syracuse! November 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheraton Syracuse shines We had a one-night stay in October, after spending a long day in NYC. Driving to Syracuse took 3.5 hours and the hotel was easy to find. Arriving late, we were upgraded to the club floor and discovered the attendant left out dessert snacks.....a nice welcome! As a Plat, we were treated to comp. overnight parking in the garage next door. Very convenient. The link in the am was convenient, the SPG Fitness is small and disappointing (no Nautilus machines) . The attendant in the lounge was the best.....friendly, knowledgeable and full of useful tips. We also discovered the hotel has a comp. shuttle to SYR Airport. A nice plus as there is no Park & Fly at Hancock Airport. The Sheraton Syracuse shines and we will be back! November 9, 2014
