Rated 2 out of 5 by Very Disappointed I booked a Deluxe Oceanfront room w/ 2 beds & I was very disappointed. The beds were the most uncomfortable that I and my sister had ever been in. I can't say sleep, because I hardly slept because the bed was so uncomfortable. There was a hole in the sheet that I didn't discover until 10PM and I was so tired that I didn't call anyone to come and replace the sheet. No one at the front desk could recommnend a restaurant other than the ones in the hotel (I've never had that happen). When I took a shower the next morning, it took a good 5 minutes for the hot water to start working and the water pressure was awful. I paid over $200.00 for 1 night and I have never been more disappointed with a hotel ever. It will be a very long time before I will stay at a Sheraton. September 30, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel on oceanfront Great hotel on the oceanfront. Overall, looked very nice and new. I would suggest more attendants at the front desk as one person isn't enough. Higher rooms have best view of ocean. Beds were very comfortable, bathroom, while small, was nice and clean. Would like to visit again in the summer when the outside bar area is open. Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel is excellent! The hotel is clean and quiet with excellent ocean views. Beds are comfortable and the food in the hotel was delicious. Free parking and wonderful front desk staff. Indoor pool and hot tubs were great for an evening swim. Wave Bus stop located near the corner of the hotel for local travel along Atlantic Avenue. Rated 5 out of 5 by Weekend Getaway We stayed at the Sheraton Oceanfront Hotel in Va. Beach and we were very pleased with the room and the customer service we were provided. Patrick, who worked at the front desk on Sat. Sept. 21st and 22nd, 2013 attended promptly to all of our requests and went beyond to make us feel good as a guest. Kudos to Patrick!! I would return to this hotel on my next visit to VA. Beach and would refer my friends. September 23, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Loved the hotel and location We loved the room, the view, and the accommodations. The bed was comfortable, the room decor was modern and fun, and the refrigerator was a great plus. The woman who helped us make our reservations and gave us information about bringing our dog was very helpful and the reason we chose this hotel. The down side was that the hotel was understaffed and it showed. Our reservation was for a room with a whirlpool tub, city view, and they gave us a "free upgrade" to a room with a view but no whirlpool tub, without our permission. That was a bummer. Plus we ordered breakfast for two every morning with our reservation. No one explained the tickets to us, what they included, and what they didn't. Plus there was only one waiter for all the tables. The service was horrible, and we waited a long time for our food. We were told that the it was because everyone was ordering room service and that they were "understaffed". The food was really good but by after the second morning of waiting FOREVER, we decided to eat breakfast elsewhere. The only other thing I didn't like was the fact that the hotel "reserved $300 on my credit card because we ordered $60 in room service. When I asked why they said it was to make sure we had enough money to cover all of the charges. That seemed odd and I wasn't pleased. No one told us about that ahead of time. We didn't order any more food to our room in case they were going to take $300 every time. All in all the hotel accommodations, location, comfort, and cleanliness were enough that we would definitely consider coming back. I just hope next time they have enough staff to handle all of the guests. Thanks for allowing us to bring our dog. She loved it and the hotel employees were all very friendly. (Except the waiters, but they could be avoided). September 22, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what I expected from a Sheraton Overall, my experience at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Sheraton was pretty bad. Upon check in there were many cars waiting to be parked making it impossible to get near the entrance. I guess only 1 valet/bellhop was on duty? There were no luggage carts so I had to wait for a person to bring one back from carrying their stuff. I waited by my car and finally someone showed up to take my keys after I checked in. Who knows how long my car sat there after I went to my room. The room (317) did not meet my expectations. It was a "partial ocean view room," but I feel calling it that is fraud. You can only see the ocean if you back one of the chairs up into the corner and strain your neck around some large pillar to see a sliver of ocean. Had I known this before lugging all my stuff into the room, I would have demanded to be switched. Oh, and the room was right above the building air conditioner so it was extremely loud and intrusive in the room. There were stains on the carpet. The toilet tissue roll holder fell off the wall when I reached for it. The ironing board legs were bent so badly that it kept falling over. I had to hold it up with one hand and iron with the other. I bent the legs back, but it still did not work right. The iron had a large crack so it leaked water everywhere. Needless to say, the iron did not work correctly. The pool was somehow colder than the ocean. So much so that it was intolerable. The bar/cabana/towel service by the pool was closed for some unknown reason despite it being 4pm on a weekday. The signage refers to the "beach level" but the elevator has a "G" for ground - which is actually the beach level. Called the service desk to get my car to go to dinner (5pm). A half hour later, still no car. Went to get it myself. Walked through their entire parking garage. Never found my car. Went back. The person (that should have been getting my car) informed me that it was in another lot. So basically they lied to me about parking it in the garage, which is really odd considering that the parking garage literally had 2 empty floors. Why was my car in some sketchy outside parking lot to begin with when there are two empty garage floors? Because they were being lazy, that's why. Later in the evening, I called to get a crib for my son. A half hour later, there was still no crib. My wife called back and explained that we called a half hour ago, where was the crib. The person said "ok, I will bring it up now." Yeah, you should have brought it up "now" a half hour ago. Then, they still took 15 minutes to bring it up. Overall, the hotel was not busy. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great features, but This was our fourth stay in this hotel. We started staying here in 2009. We loved the new changes except for the lighting in the bathroom. It is too, too dim for applying make-up. or for anything else for which you need the mirror. Also, we missed having the free buffet breakfast. Why was it stopped? We did, however, pay for and enjoyed the buffet breakfast for one morning. Also, the new parking garage is wonderful!!! September 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quiet and relaxing stay. We only stayed one night while in town for a football game. We normally choose high end, quality hotels when traveling and the Sheraton met our expectations. The suite was comfortable, clean, quiet inside the room and we would stay there again. The only negatives were the little one cup at a time coffee maker with a 2 minute wait between each cup and the balcony had a fairly loud mechanical unit or air conditioning system constantly running. The Sheraton was located in the less congested north end of the beach. We have stayed closer to the pier before and much prefer this location. September 20, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Experience-Needs improvement While I was extremely happy there was a hotel that was pet friendly - my only gripe was the couch smelled of cat urine. When you first walk in - it smells clean but as you walk on the carpet continuously throughout the day - the smell became so obvious. Like I said great location and check in and out was good but the smell was too overpowering. September 15, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by rug cleaning Why would you clean the rugs at 3:30 am on a dog floor ? It had all the dogs barking and howling. The notice was not given till after midnight cause we woke up to our dog going crazy from the noise. Why not do it later in the season when not as many people are visiting? September 13, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best place in VA Beach for travel with dogs Had a wonderful 2-day stay just after labor day. Room was clean, staff were friendly and overall efficient. Appeared to be recently remodeled. We always travel with 2 dogs and this is probably the best overall we've been to for pet-friendly location and hotel experience. The 3rd floor (only floor where dogs are allowed) was full of pups during our stay and it seems like the rooms are sound-insulated, as we heard no other people noises and only a few quiet barks from other guests' pooches - and those through the door, not walls. Had a great dinner at the ocean front outdoor cafe, and although we didn't try it, did notice that the restaurant has a beautiful view. Walking distance to plenty of other restaurants, too. North side is also an easy drive to First Landing State Park, which has calmer water than the Atlantic and was great for swimming and walking the dogs. Bathroom is smaller than new hotels but finishes and cleanliness were great. Only downside was housekeeping just rotated the bed linens instead of changing them when we put the "please change" card on the bed. Everything else was excellent! September 8, 2013

We did not require this type of room but we assumed this was the only suite that was available when we booked our reservation. We did not have a full size ironing board and asked 2 hotel staff employees if we could obtain a full size one. We called guest services and were told the hotel only provides the counter top boards. The board in the room was not even functional. September 7, 2013

Enjoyed having a restaurant, bar, lunch and biking right at the hotel. If you did not want t eat in, you can walk to restaurants nearby. Staff was pleasant. Great fitness center. September 4, 2013

The renovations made during the last two years are all outstanding from the updated rooms, the new outdoor pool and the poolside bar. The wait staff and service here have always been terrific and continues to be so. We will be back for sure! Keep up the good work. September 3, 2013

I loved my oceanfront room. It was an excellent view of the beach. I am looking forward to staying at the Sheraton again very soon. August 31, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Feel bad and wanna go home!! I'm staying now. I should not come this hotel! I picked this hotel because I'm a SPG gold member! Useless SPG Gold membership, can't late check out, no upgrade or enhance room! In my room phone is not working, one of light gone, when I came to room smell wasn't good now I found out,, it came from carpet! I request slipper, I waited more then one hour no one came, I called hotel with my cell phone because in the room phone is not working, they said they don't have slipper and did not tell me! I waited more then an hour, what a fool! This is my first day of my vacation and my one year anniversary! What a day! I'll naver ever will not come back!! August 31, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice but has shady restaurant staff The hotel was nicely furnished but room was a bit smaller than what I'm used to. Causing us to feel a little cramped, especially the bathroom. The front desk staff was superb and the staff that you met on elevators or in the hallway were all very pleasant and willing to assist if needed. However we had a very bad experience with the Cabanas bartender Samantha. She overcharged us by $20.00 when we paid with cash. She gave us no receipt and when I went back to another bartender to double check the price, she confirmed we were overcharged. It was brought to the attention of Jennifer , the manager of the restaurants, by the front desk personnel. Jennifer was not only unwilling to assist and but was extremely rude and condescending. Until the staffing in this hotel restaurant area is changed, I will consider using another facility in the area on my next visit. August 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has great features This hotel has great features and wonderful location: warm water indoor pool which was kid and adult friendly with spa and plenty of towels, outdoor pool, right on the boardwalk and beach, near the entertainment stages which included the VA Symphony one night and fireworks another night, shopping, great restaurants, terrific outdoor cafe and bar with great food and drinks, Kids Club, right on a very clean and well guarded beach, nice sized refrigerator in the room and microwave. We really couldn't have asked for more and this hotel was a good value. We truly enjoyed our four day stay. We needed connecting rooms so all we could be assigned was a "partial ocean view" (only kind they had which could be adjoining). We saw the "full ocean view" rooms and they we wonderful, especially the balcony. Unfortunately, we could see the ocean from ours and also much of the roof with all the HVAC system that ran day and night and made noise enough to hear when the balcony door was closed. Rated 4 out of 5 by My Kudos and Issues OVERALL, I'd like to thank Patrick and Bekah (front desk) and Marcus (valet) for the WONDERFUL service they provided during my stay!! They're attention to our needs and remarkable attitude made our stay pleasant, I would come back because of them. They were GREAT!!!! I had 2 issues with my stay this weekend. First, Valet closing at 11p, this is not posted in your handbook and I was taken aback when I was rudely informed by the night front desk clerk. Instead of him stating that valet is closed AND what the process would be to get my car, his approach was Valet is closed, period. After questioning him for several minutes, he finally stated that he could get my key and location of my car. Second, not sliding my closeout receipt under the door. I found it on the floor, called to front desk and was told due to renovation they stick the receipt in the crack of the door, because it will not slide under the door. WRONG!! I was able to slide the receipt under the door. There is pertinent information on our receipts, for security reasons, please allow a better way for customer to receive such a vital document, during this renovation. August 26, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Staff I was very impressed with the staff of the Sheraton Virginia Beach. Lee was very helpful when we walked in. By the time we got checked in, he had already taken our bags up to our room and sorted everything so well. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. The manager (Lauren) really went the extra mile to meet the unique needs of our family and I greatly appreciated all her help. Bottom line, the staff at this hotel are willing to go above and beyond and that's always more impressive to me than the nice rooms and comfortable beds. August 22, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great service, but need attention This was the second stay for us. We used points. It was decent enough. The rooms were fine, just a little small, but clean. The public spaced could use some attention. There were filthy windows and glass doors, some trash in the pool area. I highly recommend doing something more with the splash pool area in the front. That's a lot of wasted space. I also recommend better lighting in the bathroom, perhaps a magnifying mirrow, and more hooks for bathing suits and towels. The staff at the desk, in the bars and restaurants were all great, efficient, and friendly! Best mac and cheese! Good happy hour specials! August 21, 2013
