The pillows were too firm and to use one your neck was at 90 degrees to the bed --hard to sleep that way. The bar could not find a clean glass -- very disgusting. November 18, 2011

Rated 3 out of 5 by OK choice before an early flight, though some maintenance issues Our stay here was for a single night prior to a fairly early flight, and for the purposes of bed, dinner, and breakfast, this hotel was OK. Our king rooms were fairly typical of Sheraton in size and furnishings, though they also included a full-sized sofa which was welcome and comfortable. Carpet and furniture showed minor wear in the rooms while carpet and ceilings in the 10th floor corridor were heavily water-stained with several buckets to catch dripping water. The air conditioner in one room had a loud rattle which maintenance promptly fixed. Wireless service in the rooms was poor, though it was fine in the club lounge and lobby. Given the airport location, food options in the surrounding area were limited; the on-site restaurant was fine for dinner and despite being Mediterranean-themed, had a varied menu. The club lounge was accessible for soda, water, and coffee 24 hours and opened for breakfast at 6 on Saturday. Shuttle service to the airport runs on a schedule three times per hour and takes give or take 5 minutes depending on your terminal. Car parking at the hotel is free. December 19, 2012

Rated 2 out of 5 by Too many issues Although my reservation confirmed a king junior suite room, there was none available and the sheraton system showed me booked into a double room - that wasn't a big deal, I was here for 3 days on business and though the larger bed would have been nice, it was not necessary. Upon check-in to my room, I realized it was the most cramped, and dimly lit, I had experienced in the more than 150 hotel nights I had stayed in around the country in the last year. The closet was unusable because the door could not be fully opened, so I moved the luggage rack to another location in the room, but there was little space and even less light to have a comfortable place to find the clothing I needed out of my suitcase. The bathroom door just about hit the toilet as it opened, the timer light in the bathroom would not turn off, there was only 'decaf' available for the in room coffee maker and though requested - no real coffee ever arrived. Having used the shampoo the first morning, I expected it to be refreshed but upon returning to my room late in the day, none was left and required me to go to the front desk to request additional toiletries. The staff at the front desk, restaurant and bar are friendly and attentive, but the coffee at breakfast was lukewarm and I needed to request a replacement. There is a small free buffet supplied in the bar from 5 to 7pm weekdays, but quickly go cold and hard as they are not kept warm (at least not past 6pm). It's a shame as they had a nice selection and it is a nice treat, but much goes to waste. This hotel is in a great convenient location to the airport, seems upscale at first but unfortunately lacks in many basic necessities, expected and received in much lesser quality hotel chains. Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent airport with staff that is motivated I stayed at this property because I was flying out of IAH the next day and wanted a hotel close to the airport. The hotel is more than adequate, and the price was reasonable. I will probably return here, but there are some areas that could use improvement. The hotel is undergoing renovations, so hopefully that will address some of my concerns. First the good things: 1) Number one: location. It is right by the airport, and yet the noise from airplanes was minimal. The shuttle to the airport worked great. Parking is complimentary if you are renting a car or driving. 2) Platinum recognition was good. The person at the front desk immediately gave me my options for amenities, and he offered a late checkout. The internet code was printed on my key holder. He also explained the club lounge on the 10th floor, and gave the hours. Room was a jr. suite which was nice. 3) All of the staff was very helpful and seemed motivated. Everyone that I met made eye contact and said hello. 4) Breakfast in club lounge was decent with nice variety. Not great, but decent. 5) Bed was very comfortable. Things that could use improvement: 1) the sleeping rooms and public spaces were dark with few overhead lights. As noted above, the renovations may correct this. 2) The furniture in public spaces and bedrooms was dated (renovations may correct); 3) the prices for beer and wine in the club lounge are higher that most comparable Sterwood lounges, and this was annoying. A local beer was $6 for a bottle, and a glass of wine was $9. The hot food in the evening was okay, but there was not a big selection of cheeses or fruit / berries. 4) the designated smoking are is right outside the front door / entrance, so you have to smell smoke every time you enter the hotel.
