As a Platinium SPG member, I have been to many, many Starwood Properties all over the World... I know what I want, what I can have, and what I should come to expect! Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotel is a easy location My experience with the Sheraton has always been outstanding, I have one request placing items in the bathroom could be expanded, also many other Sheraton Hotels provide points for those who go GREEN. This Sheraton does not.. Everyone likes a little reward when asking them to recycle or reuse the bedding and/or towels. Just helps out with the efforts that Sheraton is promoting. August 13, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by BEAUTIFUL NORTHERN NEW JERSEY HOTEL Stayed here for yet another weekend. POSITIVES: 1. Beautiful location amidst mountains. 2. Truly beautiful lobby and infrastructure. 3. The friendliest staff ever. 4. Huge garden with a beautuful fountain. 5. Impressive lounge on the 22nd floor with breathtaking views. Great food. Thank you MAKEDA, BETTY and KATHY. 6. Thank you to ALL THE STAFF for your friendliness and help. I appreciate all the hardwork that you do. JONATHAN and ALEX thank you. NEGATIVES: 1. Located far way from JFK, LGA and EWR. 2. The rooms need to be upgraded. The sofas need repairing in some rooms along with the showerheads and hairdryers. 3. Transportation is an issue and if you do not have a car then you will be stuck here. TAXI service in the area is expensive. The closest New Jersey Transit Train station is Ramsey Route 17 and is located about 8 minutes away by car. There is no hotel shuttle pickup. OVERALL: Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. Rated 4 out of 5 by ANOTHER BERGEN COUNTY STAY. I stayed at this BERGEN COUNTY hotel for a weekend stay. CHECK IN PROCESS: Smooth and effortless. ROOM: I was upgraded to a CLUB SUITE and the room had beautiful views of the nearby mountains. CLUB LOUNGE: Food and views are amazing. Thank you MAKEDA, BETTY AND KATHY for making the club lounge a better place. STAFF: Thank you JONATHAN, ALEX, LISA and all the other front desk agents who work very hard. Nighttime managerial services need an in-service on customer satisfaction,communication skills and overall management of issues pertaining to guests. NON-OPERATIONAL WASHING MACHINE: The washing machine located in the swimming pool area was not operational. I want to immensely thank WALTER for using the housekeeping washing machine to wash my clothes and for delivering them to my room RECOMMENDATIONS: Nighttime managerial hotel management and communication skills need to be improved. OVERALL: A great SPG choice if you are visiting BERGEN COUNTY in Northern New Jersey. February 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Wireless Capabilities need improvement Having robust wireless capabilities in all rooms for all guests should be of paramount importance for any hotel in 2013. I understand the hotel was sold out, so many were using the network; however, hotels should plan for maximum usage. I got kicked off several times, download speeds were slow, etc. On a side note, both the sink and tub had drainage problems. March 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by BERGEN DELIGHT This is my most favorite hotel in Northern New Jersey. POSITIVES: Beautiful infrastructure, nestled amidst mountains, beautiful gardens, fabulous fountain, amazing elevators, peaceful and serene. Friendly and helpful staff. Thank you Jonathan, Makeda, Lisa and Christine. NEGATIVES: Far from Manhattan, Car is a necessity here otherwise you will be stuck at the hotel, no shuttle service, wireless internet can be slow. DINING: Club lounge on the 22nd floor is beautiful and the food is amazing. Makeda rules the lounge on weekends and is very courteous and hospitable. Fountainview restaurant has great breakfast. If you get hungry at night then call ROAD RUNNERS as they deliver up to 4 am and are very reasonably priced. POOL AND JACUZZI: Located at lobby level with workout zone. WASHER AND DRYER: Located by the pool for guest who stay for extended periods. OVERALL: I love this hotel and it is my second home after the Twin Cities. October 15, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Some concerns The doors to the rooms close extremely loud so you are awakened all night by guests going in and out of their rooms. The rooms walls are also very thin so while trying to sleep, people in the hallways and in the adjoining rooms, who are very loud and inconsiderate, keep you awake. It is very hard to have a relaxing time away when you are unable to sleep. October 7, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Customer service was great Front desk agent was very understanding & helpful to reassign a room at 10 p.m. After our experience with very noisy neighbors. We were trying to sleep after a long day on the road, the agent was empathetic to our situation & in no time she found a quiet, non-connecting room on the same floor. We had a great night's sleep! Rated 2 out of 5 by needs improvement The room didn't have a microwave and refrigerator to start with until asked. The heater was one in corner and we had to keep at 90 for heat to come till bed. The hotel is not accessible by foot to even nearest restaurant and shuttle is once a day. The rates are than other hotels of same class and despite high rate even breakfast is not complimentary. Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasantly Pleased This Mahwah Sheraton is positioned like an island unto itself. My husband and I were on the 21st floor which felt like setting a bed in the clouds. It was beautiful. Picturesque mountains and sparkling lights at night. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased. The 2 night stay was very restful and enjoyable. Great on-site restuarante. Rated 3 out of 5 by A little tired and understaffed I found the hotel was nicely situated on a beautiful parcel of land but was tired and understaffed. I tried to set up a wake up call but the guest services line was never answered. During the night it seemed that the hvac system shut off and the room became very stuffy. It turned on and off erratically and never maintained a constant temperature. September 30, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ho-Hum Hotel Hotel is out in middle of no where. Not possible to walk to anything. Restaurant food and service is mediocre at best. Front Desk did recognize me with free drink coupon but waiter took it and then charged me for drink anyways until I pointed it out. Shower head was broken in room and there will minimal heat. Love the in room starbucks coffee. i was in the work out room and there was no water. called front desk twice...was in workout room for over an hour without water...I would say that is a liabililty issue for you? Rated 4 out of 5 by strange place ... but nice stay the hotel appears to have seen much better days ... the propery just looks and feels dated ... but the staff was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the meeting rooms and services were very good the location is a bit strange too ... Mahwah seemed an odd locale for such a big hotel (?) there is nothing else in the area June 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stay The staff was wonderful and accomodating. The facilities were great. Only issue was the smell of the rooms upon arrival. Either someone was smoking in our room or the room next to us, or it was the cleaning products they use. We kept the door open for a while and the smell got better, but never totally went away. Rated 3 out of 5 by Not a typical stay Let me start off by saying I absolutely love Starwood its my preferred hotel brand.. I recommend it to all my family friends and colleagues...this particular Sheraton was very nice clean and comfortable...the hotel staff is actually where the facility fell short..I chose the Sheraton at Mahwah to have a night of quiet to celebrate my Birthday after checking in I was informed the club lounge was closed for the night what a bummer. the restaurant messed up my my breakfast order and overcharged me when I went downstairs to talk to the lady at the front desk she implied it was my fault and then I spoke to another employee and he ironed out the problem I never got to use the club lounge and the customer service was not up to standard to what I have experienced with my previous stays with Starwood brand.. A little customer service can go a long way.. I will not be returning to this particular Sheraton not the Birthday experience or stay I was looking for. April 21, 2013

The staff at Fountain View are very friendly and helpful. This is a very beautiful hotel located amidst mountains. Choose this SPG property to experience the best and achieve tranquility. The hotel staff was fully briefed on the needs of the attendees to the wedding, coordinated beautifully with other arrangements which had been made like the transportation arrangements, and provided a wheelchair for my mother at a moments notice. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Club Room improvement My wife and I visit this hotel 2 to 3 times each year. The registration staff is very friendly and efficient and recognizes our names. Since our last visit, the club room food presentation , quality and food choices have have been greatly improved. The breakfast buffet room has had the same improvements. Keep up the good work. I especially enjoy talking with Kathy in the lounge while having breakfast and preparing for my day! I missed Bill this trip. I hope he is doing better and look forward to seeing him next time. Rated 5 out of 5 by MAGNIFICIENT NORTHERN JERSEY DELIGHT! I stayed at this SPG property for a quick one night. Location: Bergen County, Northern New Jersey. TRANSPORTATION: Rental car is the best otherwise its difficult to move around the area. You can also take the New Jersey Transit trains to Ramsey Route 17 station from New York or Newark but will have to call a cab after that. CHECK IN: Was smooth and quick. ROOM: Was a beautiful junior suite on the 21st floor. It had a separate sofa and beautiful views of the mountains. STAFF: Thank you Jonathan, Makeda, Denasha and a warm welcome to DAVID the new arrival at the front desk. ROB thank you for saying hello in the club lounge. CLUB LOUNGE: I must thank Makeda again for everything that she does and also thank Kathy for breakfast in the morning. The food is amazing and the views from the lounge on the 22nd floor are just amazing. POOL/FITNESS CENTER/JACUZZI: Located on the ground floor. You will need your room key to gain access. They even have a washer and dryer in that area should you need to wash clothes. OVERALL: Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. RECOMMENDATIONS: Please check this hotel out. Rated 5 out of 5 by The hotel is so beautiful! The Sheraton Wahwah is so nice! We were greeted by a very nice person at the front desk. (Lisa) We had asked for a special room with extra amenties. She was aware of all the items and gave us a very nice room. The lobby is so well maintained and beautiful. Just wanted to sit and relax there all day! Thanks for a great stay! August 6, 2012

The room was very clean the beds were so comfortable. we stayed at the hotel for a soccer tournament. the restaurant in the hotel did not have a children's menu which would have been nice. but the food was very good. maybe if they could add a more casual dining for kids would be good. Rated 5 out of 5 by Our stay was TOO short to enjoy everything. What a wonderful stay we had. We were visiting friends so we did not have time to enjoy all that the hotel had to offer. But the club lounge was wonderful with good space and food. The room was quiet and clean and very functional. The bed was absolutely the best we have ever experienced in a hotel. Thank you Sheraton. Rated 2 out of 5 by unacceptable room location the room was located right next to the elevator shafts!!! The noise of the elevator operation was constant throughout the night. I would suggest changing the use of that smaller than average space of a hotel room to other than accommodating a Sheraton guest. A noisy restless night was not appreciated much in that room. Housekeeping and Starwood Club recognition leading the way. Coffee, tissues absent in the room, No upgrade at checkin in a less than full facility. August 15, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable and great for families Great room - comfortable bed, not enough storage space, but we were only there overnight. The gym was very nice as was the breakfast buffet. The pool was over-run with toddlers, so husband couldn't swim, but we celebrated a birthday at the disco. Shallow tub, but good water pressure in the shower. Excellent staff. January 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The BEST of the BEST. Truly an amazing hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The location is romantic and beautiful. The rooms are great. Junior suites are amazing and hotel has excellent SPG recognition. I have been consistently staying at this hotel and it has become my home away from home. I highly recommend staying here.
