Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasantly Pleased This Mahwah Sheraton is positioned like an island unto itself. My husband and I were on the 21st floor which felt like setting a bed in the clouds. It was beautiful. Picturesque mountains and sparkling lights at night. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased. The 2 night stay was very restful and enjoyable. Great on-site restuarante. Rated 2 out of 5 by needs improvement The room didn't have a microwave and refrigerator to start with until asked. The heater was one in corner and we had to keep at 90 for heat to come till bed. The hotel is not accessible by foot to even nearest restaurant and shuttle is once a day. The rates are than other hotels of same class and despite high rate even breakfast is not complimentary. Rated 4 out of 5 by strange place ... but nice stay the hotel appears to have seen much better days ... the propery just looks and feels dated ... but the staff was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the meeting rooms and services were very good the location is a bit strange too ... Mahwah seemed an odd locale for such a big hotel (?) there is nothing else in the area June 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stay The staff was wonderful and accomodating. The facilities were great. Only issue was the smell of the rooms upon arrival. Either someone was smoking in our room or the room next to us, or it was the cleaning products they use. We kept the door open for a while and the smell got better, but never totally went away. Rated 3 out of 5 by Not a typical stay Let me start off by saying I absolutely love Starwood its my preferred hotel brand.. I recommend it to all my family friends and colleagues...this particular Sheraton was very nice clean and comfortable...the hotel staff is actually where the facility fell short..I chose the Sheraton at Mahwah to have a night of quiet to celebrate my Birthday after checking in I was informed the club lounge was closed for the night what a bummer. the restaurant messed up my my breakfast order and overcharged me when I went downstairs to talk to the lady at the front desk she implied it was my fault and then I spoke to another employee and he ironed out the problem I never got to use the club lounge and the customer service was not up to standard to what I have experienced with my previous stays with Starwood brand.. A little customer service can go a long way.. I will not be returning to this particular Sheraton not the Birthday experience or stay I was looking for. April 21, 2013

The staff at Fountain View are very friendly and helpful. This is a very beautiful hotel located amidst mountains. Choose this SPG property to experience the best and achieve tranquility. The hotel staff was fully briefed on the needs of the attendees to the wedding, coordinated beautifully with other arrangements which had been made like the transportation arrangements, and provided a wheelchair for my mother at a moments notice. Rated 5 out of 5 by Our stay was TOO short to enjoy everything. What a wonderful stay we had. We were visiting friends so we did not have time to enjoy all that the hotel had to offer. But the club lounge was wonderful with good space and food. The room was quiet and clean and very functional. The bed was absolutely the best we have ever experienced in a hotel. Thank you Sheraton. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Club Room improvement My wife and I visit this hotel 2 to 3 times each year. The registration staff is very friendly and efficient and recognizes our names. Since our last visit, the club room food presentation , quality and food choices have have been greatly improved. The breakfast buffet room has had the same improvements. Keep up the good work. Rated 5 out of 5 by Always Great! I stay at this hotel frequently. Everyone is so friendly. They make me fee at home while traveling. I especially enjoy talking with Kathy in the lounge while having breakfast and preparing for my day! I missed Bill this trip. I hope he is doing better and look forward to seeing him next time. Rated 5 out of 5 by The hotel is so beautiful! The Sheraton Wahwah is so nice! We were greeted by a very nice person at the front desk. (Lisa) We had asked for a special room with extra amenties. She was aware of all the items and gave us a very nice room. The lobby is so well maintained and beautiful. Just wanted to sit and relax there all day! Thanks for a great stay! August 6, 2012

The room was very clean the beds were so comfortable. we stayed at the hotel for a soccer tournament. the restaurant in the hotel did not have a children's menu which would have been nice. but the food was very good. maybe if they could add a more casual dining for kids would be good. Rated 2 out of 5 by unacceptable room location the room was located right next to the elevator shafts!!! The noise of the elevator operation was constant throughout the night. I would suggest changing the use of that smaller than average space of a hotel room to other than accommodating a Sheraton guest. A noisy restless night was not appreciated much in that room. Rated 3 out of 5 by in decline In no less than 75 nights at this hotel and rental of Kilmer A or B more than a dozen times over the years I think I am qualified to realize that this hotel has slipped. Housekeeping and Starwood Club recognition leading the way. Coffee, tissues absent in the room, No upgrade at checkin in a less than full facility. August 15, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable and great for families Great room - comfortable bed, not enough storage space, but we were only there overnight. The gym was very nice as was the breakfast buffet. The pool was over-run with toddlers, so husband couldn't swim, but we celebrated a birthday at the disco. Shallow tub, but good water pressure in the shower. Excellent staff. January 28, 2013

Junior suites are amazing and hotel has excellent SPG recognition. I have been consistently staying at this hotel and it has become my home away from home. I highly recommend staying here. Rated 5 out of 5 by BEAUTIFUL BERGEN COUNTY SPG PROPERTY You simply have to visit BERGEN COUNTY at this time of the year. Its heaven on Earth. The definition of "The Garden State" is defined at this location. The location of this hotel is simply the most beautiful ever. The garden is just awesome and mountains are so very beautiful. Hundreds of Canadian geese flock here and are waddling and hanging out in the gardens. The fountain here is one of the most beautiful fountains ever. I wanted to shop and watch a movie and drove to WEST NYACK, NEW YORK which is not too far away. They have a huge PALISADES MALL there but parking is an issue. This hotel is located in Northern New Jersey and is located right on the Stateline of NEW YORK and NEW JERSEY on the JERSEY side. I was upgraded to a JUNIOR SUITE. Thank you. The staff here are very friendly and like family. This time of the year there are numerous ongoing weddings at this location. Its busy but a pleasant sight. OVERALL; AMAZING SPG HOTEL and my PERSONAL favorite in Northern New Jersey. October 16, 2013

I was disappointed with my stay for two reasons , 1) the food here was dreadful and expensive , which makes it even harder to swallow (no pun intended). 2) the level of cleanliness was also poor. However a positive note , the shuttle bus driver was incredibly friendly and a credit to the Sheraton. January 26, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Sheets not changed!! No warm welcome a reception, I felt like I was a burden on the staffs' conversation with someone else behind the counter. When I woke up the next morning I noticed that he bed sheets were covered in black lint and hair! When I took a shower I found "hairs" in the bath tub and walls of the shower. December 13, 2012

Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely stay here again and might start using Sheraton hotels to see if they're all this nice! August 12, 2012

However, I was placed in a room next to very noisy service elevators, and where I could hear far too much of what was going on in the adjoining room. I asked for a change, but was told nothing was available. I was at the hotel mulitple nights, but no follow up. May 7, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by enjoyed my stay my wife and i enjoyed our pre valentines day stay. a last minute get away made at 3pm the same day we stayed. the club was excellent. the two ladies that hosted the club breakfast were pivotal in that assessment due to their helpfulness. Not far from.Rt 17 - nice setting once you get to it. Surprised no bellmen on duty last 2 stays to help us with luggage. Had to use luggage racks ourselves & needed help. June 11, 2013

The hotel was heavily populated with emergency workers, so it was not a typical stay. however, the staff provided all of the standard levels of service I have come to expect here in spite of the circumstnaces. This is a beautiful hotel, with attentive staff. I stayed in a beautiful business suite with amazing views of the fall foliage. Will definitely return. October 24, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Weekend stay Lobby is cold and not welcoming, however the rooms are very nice. Ability to turn off room air conditioning is a plus. Bedding is good, however pillows are too soft. Walls are paper thin, and doors slam rather than close softly. Wait staff in restaurant were fantastic. November 16, 2012
