Rated 1 out of 5 by Potato Very disappointing
About 2-3 years ago, I stayed here numerous times on business trips to Portland. The hotel was fine then. I returned this weekend for a family visit and was very disappointed. My room was unclean, with ugly stains on the carpet and furniture. The room temperature would not go above 62 degreee, and the staff could not fix it. No amenties (bathrobes, toiletries) were prvovided as they used to be. All in all, a bad experience. I won't return.

Checked in to somewhat less than friendly clerk. He was tired he said.Room (250) was as far away from the elevator and lobby as one can get. Sink cracked. I wonder , if this what a SPG member gets, what does a non member get?

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mike1960 December stay
The checkin started oddly as the desk attendant did not say two words. The floor we were on had a bad odor due to construction and our room was not as clean as I would expect from a Sheraton hotel.

While this hotel was very conveniently located next to PDX it was one of the filthiest most disgusting rooms I have ever stayed in. They gave me a suite and the bedroom had no windows and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in 5 years. There was hair in the bathroom and on the towels.
It was gross.

Automated wake up call did not work. We called and the system repeated correctly our request but the phone never rang. We were lucky we did not miss our plane

After a long day of flying we were pleased with how easy it was to get to hotel. Once there we were met with friendly staff at front desk, restaurant and shuttle service to our rental car.

We have stayed at several Sheraton's this year and frankly the staff performance has been abysmal. Our stay this weekend at the Sheraton Portland Airport was a good example. We checked in, got our keys to a 2nd floor room and the keys didn't work. So we had to drag our luggage back down to the front desk where, we got a dismissive apology from the clerk. When we asked him what an "enhanced room" was for SPG Gold members, he told us "they have different amenities". When pressed further, we got no information. We did however get a room 150 yards away from and facing a main runway at Portland Airport. How that is an "enhanced room" boggles my mind. This is just the latest instance of Sheraton staff being dismissive and not nearly as well trained as Westin staff. Sheraton could learn a lot from the way Westin does things and that would benefit Starwood since we can't always stay in a Westin property.
