Had the pleasure of getting stuck in the elevator for approx. 10 min. Extremely hot. Once I finally heard response to the red button, it was 'SOMEONE IS ON THE WAY!" No apologies. No sorry for the convenience. After being extracted, the front desk had nothing further to offer. The hotel staff appeared completely unprepared to address this situation. I was rewarded by being charged for drinking a 2nd bottle of water on the hotel bill..

I've been staying at this hotel since early 1990s . For the most part I have been given access to club level since being a gold member. My recent stay 4/2014 I was rudely told by one of the clerk members that I no longer qualify, I asked since I was a long time return customer if I can get access to club level and again I was rudely told no. She made me feel like a 3rd class customer. I will not return to this facility again

I was hesitant to book a 10 day stay at a Sheraton given the brand's uneven reputation. The location and amenities argued for doing just that, and I'm glad that I did. Terrific staff and great location trump the minor shortcomings. Would happily stay again, but suggest that the management go sit in the restaurant at 6:30 in the morning and listen (in horror, hopefully) to Nirvana being played over the sound system.

I enjoyed this hotel to put it concisely. I stayed on the 800 level (SPG level apparently). The bed was comfortable. I liked that there were 2 TVs (one for the bedroom and one for the living room). I enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub a lot. I used the Metro to get into D.C. for the tourist spots, and the Sheraton Suites shuttle picked us up and dropped us off at the Reagan Airport metro stop with no problems.

I stayed for a business conference and greatly appreciated the staff's assistance when I needed copies of a document. Service was always with a smile and positive attitude. All facilities were excellent...including the shuttle service that took our group to a downtown restaurant for dinner and back. I appreciated the ease of parking in an underground lot. Our group received first-class service all the way.

We loved everything about hotel and area.
Staff was great especially staff at breakfast buffet. Location, plenty of street parking(free, but check signs for restrictions).
Rooms were clean and offered plenty of space with separate bedroom. Location was safe and Alexandria area is impressive especially King St near water within walking distance. Can't wait to go back and will not stay anywhere else.

It was a short stay, but the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Parking was very convenient. However I feel that there should be discounted parking, or the ability to use star points for parking, for SPG members.

We were very disappointed that the van shuttle service that had always run to the center of town, so guests could see the area was 'discontinued'.
The van service to and from the hotel, and town - was the main reason we booked your facilitiy. The hotel is a good 8 block walk to many restaurants and calling a cab easy or ecconmical.
We will consider this the next time we come to the area.

We were traveling and used this hotel to sleep and move forward. We checked in very, very late- 2 a.m., and were still given excellent service and we slept like logs.

It took 5 keys before one would open the Club Lounge. There was no room service menu in my room, so I found an online version in the hotel's website.....only to be told by the room service attendant that the version was outdated. When my food order finally arrived, the television in the conference area of my room was not functioning properly and I therefore ate dinner on my bed.

This was an uninspring stay. The coffee machine wasbroken, the room small and dingy. Normal low end hotel stuff.
The real problem was that I booked this hotel, through SPG, specifically because it said there would be views of the Masonic Temple. We were given a courtyard room with no views. I stayed in a hotel below my price range becuase of the promised view and was disappointed.

Hotel was great even though the elevators were being worked on when we arrived. We had a toilet issue but Paul the manager took great care in dealing with our frustration and took our concern to heart and he jumped to action and we appreciated the discount that was a pleasant surprise and now I know I made the right choice being a SPG member with service like this. Thank you Paul

I have stayed at many hotels around the DC area. I booked again at this hotel and was again pleased.
This time I was able to spend time in the Lounge ... LATE NIGHT there were no snacks until I called - everything was replenished quickly... BREAKFAST was good, was nice to have hot food (would appreciate hot eggs) - but the ham/cheese croissants were good!

the suite is small but not cramped, very comfortable furnishings and a great bed. However, it's the hotel staff that really stands out --- everyone is very friendly and helpful. I've stayed here frequently over the past few years and it's my hotel of choice for a good value that's convenient to downtown DC without the expense that downtown hotels bring.

Everything about this hotel was great! The staff was super and all of them seemed to go the extra mile to meet our needs. The front desk staff, the shuttle drivers, the bartenders, the food and beverage manager were all superb! I highly recommend this hotel to all DC area travelers. Really enjoyed our stay although we were in town for a funeral.

This hotel is walking distance to Old Town Alexandria with numerous shops, restaurants, etc. I was pleased with the room and service, however, my tv did not work in the bedroom.

The accommodations were very nice. However, I was disappointed the hotel had changed our door locks before we checked out. (Before the posted check out time,) Also, from the website we thought the shuttle would provide transportation to King Street, but when we inquired we were told they would call us a cab.

Spent 10 nights in Old Town Alexandria and had a great time! The hotel, staff, restaurant, pool and fitness center were all wonderful! Traveling back there in a month and already have my reservations in! Better weather would have been nice, but I am pretty sure the hotel staff had no control over that!

This is the second time we have stayed here & we love it. The room is beautiful and convenient to everything. It is very quiet which we really appreciated after staying in a very noisy hotel this summer. The staff will meet your every need. Just a really great stay.

Stayed over night with friends. Ate at a wonderful place around the corner. The suites were nice. We paid for an upgrade to the club lounge which was adequate. It was worth it for the bottled water in the heat! Breakfast in the lounge was good.

Always a treat to stay at this hotel. Close walk to King Street and to businesses in Alexandria. Nice location for evening casual meetings (plus bread pudding to sweeten the deal). Easy walk to the Potomac for evening stroll and decompress.

This trip " Zack " front desk staff , was just superb, went out of his way to assist, finding transportation, eateries etc.
Really, customer service oriented and made you feel Welcome.
Have stayed before and will stay again.

1. Hotel charged me more that what is displayed on the Starwood site, and then have front office argue about it.
2. There are no SPG rooms so SPG members usually Gold members will be better served on other properties.

I was booked at this hotel for 21 nights. During that time the hotel shuttle picked me up from the airport (after taking the train in) correctly less than 50% of the time, housekeeping skipped my room twice, and I requested to speak with the general manager (or really, ANY manager) more than 4 times. To date, I have never been contacted. I do not believe this hotel employs managers as there was never one on duty(and I asked several times day and night). Every time I spoke with a front desk representative they took down my information and assured me I would be contacted within 24 hours. Again, no manager EVER contacted me during my stay or after.
If you are looking for just a place to sleep, this hotel will do fine. However, if you encounter any issues, do not expect to be issued an apology as the staff are clearly trained to never use the phrase "I'm sorry." And as there are no managers employed at this hotel, expect to pay the full rate every night with no accommodations for when the hotel makes a mistake (and believe me, they'll make plenty). I would not stay in this hotel again.

Stayed here for several years on business; usually fine. This time had problems. When I arrived the room type I had pre-booked and pre-paid was unavailable and I was put in a "conference" room - no attempt to compensate in any way. Unhelpful reception staff when I asked for late checkout - asked them to look into it morning before -when I came back in the evening next shift receptionist knew nothing about it. As ked him to look into it - he said he'd phone my room. when he'd talked to the manager. He never did. Folio invoice not sent to my email. I had to email 3 times and phone (from the UK !) to get it sorted). Unusual but irritating.
