Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible stay - SHERATON SUITES CHICAGO ELK GROVE Guest number 1110318, Starwoods member: *******5957 Initially in room 339, there was an unattended dog in an adjacent room repeatedly barking preventing my rest and sleep. After multiple calls to the front desk, the manager actually began asking me what to do. Hard to believe a guest is asked to solve the hotel manager's problem to solve. Finally, well after I intended to go to sleep, I received an offer for a different room. So I dressed and packed up all my belongings and, after quite a delay moved to room 703. The front desk receptionist was sent to bring me the 703 key. However, that should have been done by the manager to take responsibility and as a role model to the rest of the staff. Don't delegate the unpleasant to a subordinate. There was no charge for the room, but that did not make me whole considering the disservice. I should have received an additional credit as well. Moreover, no Starwoods points were received as well - other than the in-house meal. And I was still charged $20.55 for a in-house dinner when I could have and should have gone off site for dinner. I will next time. In room 339, the first towel I attempted to use had a long, black hair on it. Also, the bottom sheet was dirty/stained. Too I bad I discovered it after I had been in the bed. Combined, these terrible events assure I shall not return or recommend the Sheraton Suites Chicago Elk Grove. August 20, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Would not recommend! We've stayed at many Sheratons in the past few years and this was by far the worse stay of all. What was wrong: 1) Did not get acknowledged for being spg gold members 2) Room felt very damp including the carpet, sheets, blankets, etc 3) Sink faucet was leaking and loose 4) Shower head was leaking 5) Head lamp next to bed fell off wall while we were sleeping but luckily did not fall on my toddler in bed!! 6) No apology from front desk except that they are going to fix it. Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad room service, leak in hotel room ceiling, staff didn't care to fix I understand that the hotel is about to go under or is currently going under renovation. Hotel has potential, but currently not worth the price. Better rooms and service at most Four Points. Few things I wanted to share with you, and advise your other not to stay here. 1. Blue stains on bed linens. Told housekeeping, never corrected. 2. Room service: ordered steak medium well and received a medium-rare steak. After two attempts to get the right meal, it was evident that it was not going to happen at this property. 3. Damp carpet in room due to rain and leak in the ceiling. Once again, promises that it'd be fixed... never was. Even more leaks in the hallways. 4. Phone call to my room from a staff member named Sergio. Stated that I have "no credit card on file" and that he needed to come up to my room to get cash or a credit card. When I advised I had one on file, he refused to believe me. he called back and again, at which I then told him to check with the front desk. 5. Outside pool "under construction" but no notice of this in advance when booking. This is unacceptable for ANY guest at any SPG property. I've stayed at several other SPG properties during renovation and never experienced this. Sent email and 4 days later I've yet to hear back from hotel management. July 28, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by All about the staff This is a suburban hotel outside Chicago, IL and I have stayed there frequently over the last decade because of the proximity to my office. The staff are friendly and welcoming. There are some truly exceptional people: Talib, Gigi, Eva, Sherri, Alan and AJ, who provide such warm, friendly service that it makes up for a threadbare facility in serious need of new furnishings and an improved management approach. Employee and management turnover is high and the lack of attention to keeping the facility maintained and modern is a disservice to the Sheraton brand. As a Platinum guest, I have stayed in SPG properties all over the world. Building on the exceptional staff, this facility could be a bright spot in the O'Hare area. July 28, 2016

Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor Stay Experience at Sheraton Elk Grove I recently stayed at Elk Grove with over 25 immediate/extended family members. My over experience was disappointed mainly driven by poor/rude customer service and unclean room/bathroom. The front desk staff was not warm and friendly; left me with the feeling with why are you here? The kitchen staff for breakfast was outright rude, loud, and literally were refusing to cater to requests. I complained to the head chef who was worse and supported his staff's behavior. Horrible. Never experienced this at a Sheraton. Room was not cleaned despite calling and asking. Bathroom was unclean, sink was clogged, shower had practically zero water pressure. Toilet was not flushing properly. Lastly, made special request for connected rooms and keeping family on same floor, of course no connecting rooms and rooms on different floors. Reservation was made 6 week sin advance. Bad Experience, would not recommend. July 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid Property - Great half way stop on a family trip! We have now been at the Sheraton Suites in Elk Grove several times when driving through Chicago from Minneapolis. The location is right off the main thoroughfares, and while convenient, it also has a great secluded/exclusive feel. The property is a bit dated - but they were renovating the Club floor when we were last there in June 2016! Upon speaking to the front desk staff (always very friendly) they said they expected the renovations to move swiftly! I travel for business a bit, but not as much as some… To be able to find a solid property like this, where I can put my points to very good use, is why I booked my next three business trips in Starwood properties. Seriously Starwood, because of this hotel I change my reservation from a competitor the next time I'm in Atlanta to the Westin airport hotel! Keep up the great work Sheraton Suites - Elkgrove team! Rated 1 out of 5 by Club Lounge My wife and I stayed there before and had a pleasant stay. Since we were lifetime Gold members we had access to the Club Lounge. I made reservations for my daughter and her husband for a two night stay for their anniversary using my points. Since they were sold out, they didn't get to stay on the Club floor, nor did they have access to the Club Lounge. I can understand not being able to stay on the Club floor, but they should have had access to the lounge. I never had any issues like this at any other Sheraton. Extremely disappointed. July 16, 2016
