I stayed here since it was close to the airport. The swimming pool was green from algea and the landscaping was horrible since the grass was overgown.
I was repeated told on different days that the shuttle bus & taxi would arrive but I waited outside for half an hour, each time (I was told 1-2 minutes).
Stay in Rome, it's further but more refined.

The location is ridiculous - anyone visiting Rome would do well to actually stay in Rome...not literally in the middle of nowhere and not even near enough to FCO to qualify as an airport hotel.
Given this major disadvantage, one would expect superlative effort elsewhere. Not unfortunately the case here. While the facility is attractive and the room was actually lovely, maintenance was dire and service was the worst I have experienced in ANY SPG property. Having worked in tourism for 35 years and stayed in upwards of 200 SPG properties, that is saying A LOT. The staff - from reception clerk to waiter to manager were rude, unaccommodating and, most importantly, poorly trained. None of the ideal practices set by Sheraton corporate seemed to be in action here. I cannot, a year after my stay, think of a single positive thing to say about ANYONE working in this hotel and my advice to Sheraton would be to unload the property all together or bring in new USA-trained management and overhaul from the ground up.

I was very pleased that we were upgraded to a lovely suite at check-in. The staff was able to accommodate us even though we arrived a little early (we got there at 1200 even though check-in is normally at 1500). The Shuttle bus is convenient to reach downtown. It lets you off within a couple of blocks from the historic attractions. Be aware though that the driver may let you off at a different point from where the bus departs later that evening - so be sure to study the map of the pickup point carefully (we waited to be picked up where the driver had let us off. 15 minutes after the 1800 pickup time, we consulted the timetable and realized we were in the wrong place as the bus is supposed to dropoff and pickup across from the Café Antiqo - two blocks up from where we were waiting). :/ I was looking forward to downloading my emails that evening, to work on the 10 hour return flight home the next day. The concierge advised their Link facility was in Building 2, so I grabbed my laptop and took the shuttle van from building 1 to building 2. However I was disappointed to learn the Parco de Medici "Link@Sheraton" doesn't offer free wi-fi. Using one of the workstations in the Link area, I showed the staff that "free wi-fi" is listed on www.sheraton.com as a benefit of the "Link" facilities, but they remained adamant that this amenity didn't apply to their Link facility. :/ All in all though the hotel is very large, suiting the needs of both leisure and business travelers.

We booked this hotel because of the pool. However, the pool was closed for the season. How could we know that the season starts june 1th. Children were very disappointed. Hotel is a bit far away from the city. Shuttlebus very expensive. 5 euro per person to the city. 8 euro per person to the airport. (we were with 6 persons, you can do the math yourself) Rent a car if you can. You can plan your day the way you want it and don't have to wait for the shuttle. At the reception we were checked in by a trainee. The check in took almost an hour. The trainee had no assistance at all and was so busy with the computer that he didn't look at us. Ik booked two rooms and the rooms were in two different hallway's. In the end we got two rooms next to each other, but in one of the rooms the third bed was missing. Drinks very very expensive in the hotel. Rooms were nice, big and clean. Bathroom with shower and bath. wifi 9 euro's for 24 hours. That's a shame!

Filthy common areas, rude and unhelpful staff; it is a major failure to make a stay in Rome unpleasant. This hotel succeeds on that account if nothing else.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Merlin Slow to no service, no SPG recognition
- long check in procedure
- no recognition of SPG Gold status (not at check in or check out). At check out I noticed the SPG prefered desk but nobody was there nor anybody arrived when I waited there for 5 minutes. One person was walking around (I guess she was the receptionist manager) but did not really sort out any issues. Not received any SPG benefits !
- Staff is friendly but they are not honnestly friendly
- The room needs some maintenance and some cleaning (not only surface cleaning)
- Breakfast was terrible. Hot food was stone cold (every morning) and we had to tell staff 4 times for a coffee. Orange juice was coloured water.
- There are 3 hotels but not clear for foreigners to understand to which one they should go.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SHERATON PROPERTY, ACTUALLY THE WORST HOTEL I EVER STAYED.
This place is terrible.
The staff is EXTREMELY rude. EVERYBODY. Just now, I called the front desk and asked to speak with a manager, the lady not only refused to tell me who is the manager on staff, but she hang up on my face.
When I called back, another gentleman told me he was busy and he did not have time to talk to me. They have not even asked what is the issue.
I have a million issues:
No housekeeping in my room
No fresh towels
Wired internet connection no longer works
Wifi connection does not work either.
I went in-person to the front desk, waited for 30 minutes in front of the desk and noboby never talked or even acknowledged my presence.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The room was great, the staff was great and the property is beautiful. Irene Cartolano really stood out for her great service and fun personality. After a long day of sight seeing in Rome, it was great to come back to the hotel and relax at the bar and chat with Irene....she also makes a great martini.
