Home to the UK Tea Council’s “Best Afternoon Tea in London 2008” honor and its 2009 and 2010 “Award of Excellence,” Apsleys serves freshly baked scones, thick clotted cream, handmade finger sandwiches, and a scrumptious selection of cakes, tea breads, and homemade fruit preserves. Gluten and dairy-free Afternoon Tea is available upon request. Served daily at 4pm, 4:30pm, and 5pm, ending at 6pm.
As teatime comes to a close, the restaurant’s two private dining rooms and two wine tasting rooms take over, offering celebrated Mediterranean cuisine from legendary chef Heinz Beck. From veal terrine to foie gras, a range of antipasti incites the appetite, preparing it for monkfish spaghetti, rabbit ravioli, and more. Savory second courses and decadent desserts, like mascarpone fondant, finish off the seductive meal. A carefully curated list of wines provides the ultimate accompaniment.
