Reminiscent of a fine old bleached wood boathouse, Driftwood is open to the ocean, capturing the gentle breeze and adding it to a menu of fresh, succulent seafood and superb meats, all meticulously prepared and served.
Dine indoors or outside under an umbrella and take in unrivalled views of Yalong Bay through doors framed by wooden slats and shutters as you enjoy specialties such as pristine sashimi, Hainan baby lobster, Pacific oysters, king crab, and sea bass with abalone cocktail sauce and mango chutney. Meat-based entrees include tender Angus beef rib eye or tenderloin as well as tomahawk rib steak, all cooked to absolute perfection and served with delectable side dishes. Lighter offerings include salmon spring rolls with mango and avocado and prawn-watermelon skewers. Driftfood also offers a delectable salmon burger on a foccacia bun. And for dessert, guests may enjoy such temptations as fresh Hainan fruit sorbet, a coffee chocolate mud pie, or a luscious forest berry cheesecake.
Fine wines and exceptional service, with attention to each detail, add immeasurably to the Driftwood experience.
Set beneath the resort’s soaring parabolic roof form, The Drawing Room is a favoured gathering spot for mingling and live entertainment, all with magnificent ocean views. Settle into a wingback chair in a conversation area or sit at the curved bar to enjoy Afternoon Tea or cocktails and small plates. This elegant space also offers outdoor seating amid cool ocean breezes and is the site of the nightly St. Regis tradition of Champagne sabering—a ritual that marks the end of the day and the start of a beautiful evening ahead.
Our tea menu offers the finest Grand Cru teas, properly served. The St. Regis Treasures Tea is an extraordinary blend of Hainan tea, kunlun snow chrysanthemum, longan orange peel, ginseng, wolfberry, dates, and osmanthus. Signature cocktails include The Red Snapper, a classic Bloody Mary and the resort’s own Sanya Mary, made with vodka, Hainan yellow chilli, Hainan white pepper, calamansi, pineapple juice, tomato juice and a garnish of rock salt.
Decanter, the resort’s wine cellar, is an intimate wine bar set in an inviting cluster of grotto-like environments. Lined with rustic brick and stone, it houses an extensive wine collection. With a capacity of 34 persons, this hideaway offers a charming spot to relax in generously sized high-back chairs or under a softly lit candelabra-style chandelier at a communal table with polished wood bar stools. Sip some of the world’s finest wines served with a selection of enticing and perfectly matched canapés.
Guests are also invited to enjoy a full French tasting menu while enjoying the transporting experience of Decanter. Each evening our chefs combine the freshest ingredients, including the finest meats and seafood with classic as well as modern French sauces, all paired perfectly with fine wines.
Featured select wines include Louis Roederer Rosé from Reims, France; Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay from Napa Valley, California; Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon from West Australia, and more. Decanter also offers a fine cigar list.
Authentic Cantonese and Sichuan cooking and impeccable service are the focus at Ming Xuan, a splendid restaurant devoted to exceptional moments. As the light and mood of the Yacht Club and Marina shift outside the windows, the interior of the restaurant changes, too. The unique design embraces the idea of traditional pillars and round tables, with individual, oversized square “lanterns” above each table, but the feel is contemporary, sleek and spacious, with cherry wood accents and warm golden hues and a polished marble floor. In addition to a main dining room, guests may also dine in three private rooms, each seating ten people.
Signature dishes include chilled foie gras with Hainan chilli jelly; poached Wen Chang chicken; Australian, local, and baby lobster or roe crab in a variety of preparations, including steamed with garlic and vermicelli or baked with consommé and Parmesan cheese.
Your sommelier will advise on a selection of fine wines or teas to accompany each dish.
A variety of cooking stations sizzle with enticing aromas as chefs create a world of flavours at Social, the resort’s all-day dining restaurant. The bright white palette accented with deep orange, a black and white marble floor, and floor-to-ceiling windows offers an inviting indoor setting for food that ranges from traditional Chinese to pizza and spaghetti. Breakfast and dinner buffets offer an abundance of fresh salads. Outdoors, tables sit on platforms interspersed amid a serene fountain with an ocean view.
Signature dishes include a traditional Caesar salad with a flourish of Parma ham, pan-fried foie gras with apricot chutney and balsamic soy paint, spicy prawn broth with rice noodles and lemongrass, and a simple California club sandwich. The restaurant also offers pizzas and pastas, including a fresh seafood linguine. Asian favorites include Thai green chicken curry and Indonesian style fried rice. Social’s desserts range from pumpkin cheese cake with yoghurt Chantilly to a raspberry Linzer praline.
