I had a very poor and sad experience at the St Regis Houston. As a business traveler who is on the road 65+ nights a year, I was very disappointed by the service at the St Regis. Fitness is very important to me and I feel horrible if I cant exercise everyday. Upon checking in I was greeted with warmth and told that my company is the hotel's best customer and they value my platinum status. I asked about the gym and was informed that it closes at 11:pm, but they would be happy to open the door for me. After a long work day, about 11:15pm I was ready for my run so I went down to the front desk. I was informed that I absolutely could not use the gym and that I could come back at 5am due to cleaning. I asked why they needed to clean the gym for 6 hours and I was asked my room number. Upon giving my room number, the responce was No! Sir the gym is closed. I left the front desk feeling quite sad and frustrated. I will have a hard time sleeping tonight with such poor service and no run.

What an all around disappointing stay. From not having rooms ready when I arrived to the busboy who cut me off with the baggage cart and didn't apologize to the in-room movie I was charged for but didn't order, almost nothing met my expectations for the price charged. When I called to have the movie removed from my bill, I was told that had to wait until Monday because the accounting department was closed. What a joke. There are other hotels at this price that have a culture of great service; this place clearly does not. I saw a doorman not get the door for a woman because he was chatting with a co-worker. The room was very nice and the food was fine. However, I don't like paying $300 for a room and then being nickel and dimed for internet service ($12.95/day). There is neither complimentary water nor a refrigerator in the room. Forget your toothbrush? $5. Forget your shaving kit? $7.50. They even charge $5 if you forgot tampons. Take my advice and skip it.

I travel every week and have spent over 50 nights at this particular property over the last 2.5 years. This is my favorite hotel. Every room is well maintained and decorated. The staff are very courteous, responsive, and knew my name by my second stay.
I have stayed at most SPG properties in Houston as well as at several other hotels in the same category as the St. Regis. This is the best property by far. One slight drawback is that the fitness center is a little small.

We travel all over the world and first time staying at a St Regis Hotel and I am so glad it is the one in our city because we will be coming back over and over. We were upgraded to Grand Lux room which was spacious and ultra comfortable.
It was my birthday weekend and the staff went out of their way to make me feel special with chocolate covered starwberries delivered to the room.
The high tea is a must do. Harpist a nice touch and the tea dessert and biscuits very good
We have just made another reservation to return for our anniversary.

Had to travel to Houston to Celebrate my best friends birthday. Since it was a big one we had an itinerary of events planned for us all weekend. I have to say that it was always comfort to walk into the St Regis and smell the beautiful flowers and admire those gorgeous arrangements. Suddenly as you walk in i start to relax and I look forward to some peace and quiet in the comfort of my room. I did get to enjoy a nap by the pool and the service was impeccable which made it so much more pleasurable every time you were low on a drink. When your out and running in social settings which wear you out! its always good to know that you can go back to the St Regis and recharge in peace and pampering to be ready for the next outing!
