Rated 5 out of 5 by older hotel kept in its prime A very nice experience awaits you at this hotel. Ideally situated down town close to the medical center. It is small with lovely rooms, nice lobby, friendly bar. Butler service is serious to them. They even have turn down -- a vanishing American amenity July 22, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by St. Regis Houston This was my third St. Regis and, unlike other Starwood chains, there is a surprising lack of consistency. Our room was nice and a nice welcome amenity was provided, but the air conditioning did not work. We checked in late and were told the hotel was full. So not a very restful night. Imperious front desk staff. And the coffee is surprisingly average. Hotel is recommended, but for the price there are other choices. July 16, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Customer Service Lacking Planned a nice birthday staycation for my wife. After dinner, retired to the room to watch a movie & sip some wine, but the TV toggle to get to the DVD player was not working, nor was the online movie screen. The manager told me they had 232 rooms and they can't be expected to check every one of them. They did agree to try to fix it. So, we had to get dressed and go downstairs to wait in the bar. I was able to get the manager to give us 2 drink tickets while we waited, but it was a heated argument to get to that. When we got back to the room, it was working and we settled in. After an hour, it stopped working again. I called the front desk and was told that the sales manager was working with a customer and would call me back. They never called back!! We finally went to bed very dissatisfied with the whole experience. In the morning, the manager gave us a $75 credit for our stay, but my impression of St. Regis in Houston had been formed hours prior. July 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved Our Stay Loved the room and the staff very nice! The only thing we heard a dog barking early evening and early morning doors slamming. Bed a bit too soft. Room gorgeous! Loved dancing to the band until the wee hours in your first class bar then being able to take the elevator to our room. Great anniversary! Thank YOU! July 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Independence Celebration Great hotel to stay at and enjoy the fireworks from River Oaks and Downtown during Independence Day Celebration. Hotel staff friendly and professional by making it possible to enjoy a room with a great view of downtown on short notice. Loved the breakfast and comfortable beds. The room was quiet and so peaceful. July 6, 2014
