Rated 5 out of 5 by Bringing elegance to a tropical paradise This luxurious resort has been richly built to the highest standards. One might say to "uncompromising" standards. The lobby is a soaring space hosting The Drawing Room; and the bar's tropical Hainanese take on the Bloody Mary is delightful. Driftwood punches above its weight as a gourmet dining experience ... and again with some introduction to local flavours. A new coconut-inspired tea is as refreshing as it is novel. Seafood tartare was something special in taste and plating. For Chinese cuisine the Li dishes and Sichuan and Cantonese favorites satisfied in Ming. I was impressed by the conscientiousness and kindness of all staff met including Selly in hskping ... Rada, Garret, Kevin in restaurants and Mika on the guest switchboard. Beautifully maintained gardens capped off the experience. I love the room's Master Switch... it really is a one touch solution where they are not always like this. Rated 5 out of 5 by I recommend this hotel Overall I enjoyed my stay. 1. A very nice St Regis hotel, friendly and helpful staff, especially those at the sea-view / beachside restaurant. 2. The breakfast for platinum guest is at the beachside restaurant - great environment, quiet, a really nice view, and good food/drinks. 3. Check-in took a short while (without a counter for a gold / platinum members?) 4. The hotel is nicely located at the west end of the famous Yalong beach, and it’s right next to the marina and yacht club. The area is nice, quiet and comfortable. However, this part of the beach.... you may be disappointed, and no good for ocean swimming 5. Nice ocean view room but no suite upgrade May 10, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing resort! St. Regis Sanya is top notch and super luxurious. The rooms are among the best I have ever stayed in, and I travel a lot all over the world. Gorgeous bathrooms that are a dream and huge! Very modern and yet elegant style, amazing views of the water to boot. My family and I stayed here for 7 days in July and we loved it- the staff was super friendly and very helpful (especially Candy and Jax, as well as Marcos who is director of foods and beverages) -- they treated us like royalty from the start. The only possible area for improvement is to have more staff that speak better Engiish or at lesat understand the language-- some staff members spoke no English at all- but they were still very nice and we apprciated them nonetheless. We would love to stay here again and recommend this hotel to everyone, especially if price is not an issue (it can get very pricy, especially the food and drinks). In short, St. Regis Sanya is among the best luxury resorts in the world! July 15, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent I stayed with my Family at the St Regis for a few days end of April, and it was an excellent experience throughout our stay. From the pickup at the airport to the checkout everything was very well done. Our Buttler was excellent, she took care of us pretty well every day, even organizing an amazing surprise for our wedding anniversary. Thank you very much April. My platinum status was well recognized and we were upgraded to a suite, a very good surprise was the happy hour, indeed, even though there is no lounge like in most resorts, at least there is a daily happy hour with a selected list of drinks and few snacks which was very well appreciated. The breakfast for platinum guest is at Driftwood, the beachside restaurant, which is a much better environment, more quiet, and with a really nice view. The Saturday night BBQ organized outside between the 2 wings on the lawn was pretty good with a nice ambiance. Globally the amenities were very good too, the 2 swimming pools were great, and we especially enjoyed the main swimming pool at night with the lights and the transparent wall. As I have seen some bad comments here, let me clarify. For those who are looking for an inexpensive place and who are not ready to pay the price for a Starwood category 6 hotel it’s may be better to choose another destination as you will be disappointed. It is high quality, it is good, and it is expensive. As well for those who love to swim in the ocean, chose another destination as you may be disappointed by the water and the beach, which are not the best assets of this resort. On the other hand, if you are looking for a great destination to relax, with a friendly staff, excellent amenities, and high quality F&B, then do not hesitate to go there.
