Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful hotel with the most attentive staff! Every aspect of our stay was magnificent! After an incredible experience on a Seabourn cruise, we spent one day in Rome. How to top off an amazing luxury cruise? This hotel! Upon arrival. we were upgraded to a beautiful room. Have enjoyed staying at Peninsula Hotels, Four Seasons and Auberge properties; this hotel rivaled them all! Thank you for a wonderful night. November 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by An Elegant Hotel We stayed here for our 25th anniversary and the staff and hotel were perfect. The hotel exudes charm and elegance. The breakfast buffet was spectacular and we enjoyed starting each day in such luxury. We got upgraded to s suite for our anniversary and it was lovely and refined. The St. Regis seems to be fron a time when travel was luxurious and relaxing. October 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by One of the best hotels The St Regis Rome is like staying at the hotel you have seen in a movie from when staying at a hotel was a special thing from the past. With the recent renovations this has brought the hotel up to the standards that would satisfy any traveler. Its at the top of the Starwood chain and should you happen to be in Rome you will truly enjoy all aspects. September 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Bespoke Experience as Promised Rome was our first stop on our two weeks Italian holiday and The St.Regis Rome delivered on every count! The room was very comfortable and the service was impeccable, staff was warm and friendly and always ready to help with a smile (concierge, front desk). The hotel's location is great, allowing us to walk and explore the little charming side lanes. If you're are catholics, there is a church that is only a 5 minutes' walk diagonally across the hotel and they do have an English service. We stayed only two nights but our positive interaction with the staff left us with indelible memories. Keep it up St. Regis Rome! August 8, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brief but wonderful and efficient last night in Italy Superb! Front desk on check in/check out was genuine, intelligent and efficient in allowing us to swiftly gain as much of Rome and the St. Regis as possible on our last night of our trip. Bell service was gracious and rooms were well appointed and sincerely cared for. A must stay location in Roma. June 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by First Class Service The hotel staff was attentive to all of our needs. We were welcomed by the front desk manager and treated like a special customer. It was our honeymoon and first visit into Italy, but we were very comfortable there. Fully expect to return again there some day and recommend this highly to others. October 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location in Rome to stay We stayed for five nights last week using points. As Gold members we did not get an upgrade so we experienced one of the smaller "standard" rooms on the inside courtyard. No view at all but it was wonderfully quiet the entire time. For two people on a romantic getaway the room was terrific. Clean and comfortable bed, small, but very clean and functional bathroom with a nice tub and updated shower. Free water bottles were replace each day. For some reason they failed to replace the wash cloths several days over our stay which was hard to fathom for the St. Regis but still a very minor complaint. We avoided the breakfast buffet. No reason to spend $80 per day on breakfast with endless cafes nearby. We had dinner one evening at Vivendo that was excellent. Too much food and then they brought us out a birthday cake since I mentioned on the reservation that we were observing our birthdays. Overall - everything was nice because we were staying on points. Not sure I would have felt the same way at $1000 per night! October 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by First Class Hotel My husband and I stayed at the St. Regis for our honeymoon. Everything was perfect and we will definitely stay there again. The room was spacious, the view nice, and the butler and front staff service top notch. The decor was truly lovely. October 21, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel for weekend stay Great hotel for the family stay. Near the city center and metro station. Great Staff and excellent food. December 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing location What a great spot - central to most sights and shopping. Front desk were helpful and recognized platinum benefits. Concierge were helpful and suggestions were spot on. The butler service was outstanding! 5 days here was magnificent! March 21, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Rome The St. Regis Rome was truly outstanding. The hotel is visually magnificent and easy to find from the Termini train rail station. St. Regis is very relaxing in a great location along the river. The staff at this hotel were excellent, happy and pleasant to assist us. The room was clean and turndown service was excellent. We also ate at the restaurant downstairs and had great service and a very delicious dinner. I was very impressed with the hotel, service and staff at this St. Regis Rome. What a great spot - central to most sights like the the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, shopping and Metro Train Stations. May 19, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not the St. Regis Experience we were expecting Our view was tainted because we had just left the St. Regis Florence - which was phenomenal. First off - the check-in person said our room would be ready in 15 minutes and excused us to the lobby to wait. I had asked about the St. Regis Butler Service and she said she didn't know anything about that because she was new. 1.5 hours later, we were tiring of waiting. I went to the desk to ask if she had heard anything about our room - she was laughing with a co-worker about something. She stepped over to a tray with room cards on it and said, "Oh, here is your room key. Looks like it's been ready for awhile. I suppose I forgot about you." The Butlers were essentially invisible to us during our stay and of almost no help whatsoever. Again, the Butler service at the St. Regis Florence had been so exemplary that maybe we were spoiled. OR - is that the level that all St. Regis Butlers should aspire to deliver? I would think so. Overall our stay was lackluster. A bright spot? The chef who cooked my eggs each morning in the restaurant for breakfast. He was kind, smiling, and cooked my eggs to perfection every time. He was literally the best part of our stay at the St. Regis Rome. May 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Roman Holiday Staying at The St. Regis Grand made our visit to Rome even more pleasurable! The attention to detail was superb across the entire staff, from doorman to concierge to room service and housekeeping. The buffet breakfast selection delighted my vegetarian spouse and offered many delicious choices to savor over. We loved the appointments in our room, especially the wonderfully comfortable bed and linens and the upscale bath products. The St. Regis Grand is among the top five hotels that we have stayed in over the past three decades of travel. It will be our pleasure to return to it on a future trip to Rome. June 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Luxurious and timeless elegance and class We stayed two nights at beginning of September and we had a fabulous time. Andrea at the reception was extremely polite and friendly and made us feel as we were longtime clients. He upgraded us to a junior suite on the fourth floor and sent a rich and tasty basket of fresh fruit, the perfect reception, indeed! The room was spacious and quiet, and so elegant. The hotel is so well located. From Fiumicino airport we took a regular city taxi (flat and published rate of 48EUR from airport to anywhere downtown, inside the Aurelian walls). We were walking distance to Villa Borghese gardens and downtown typical sites, but also close to Fori Imperiali and Capitolino hill. For dinner we chose an excellent restaurant on quite street (Via Aureliana, Osteria 44). A patio outside served with a smile by its owner Sergio. He treated us like friends. We will surely eat there again. Back at the hotel I suggested the concierge about this gem, just 10 min walk from the hotel, as they were not aware. Breakfast was faboulus at the hotel, rich, and with many options. Service and attention was super at any occasion during our stay. A surely excellently managed hotel from top to bottom. Thank you for the fabulous stay! September 4, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Concierge was not helpful Before our arrival, I called the concierge to get driving directions from Florence (as we were coming from St. Regis Florence). I was shocked when his reply to me over the phone was "Don't you have GPS?" In fact we didn't have GPS in our rental car and that is not the point. When I am staying at the St. Regis in any country, I would expect better than that reply! In fact, when I compare the service with the same question presented to the Concierge at the St. Regis Florence, he e-mailed me very comprehensive directions, along with photos. So we thought perhaps we reached the Rome Concierge on a busy moment, give him the benefit of doubt. When we checked into the hotel, we wanted to give it another chance. The check in staff was friendly as was the bell staff. But then the frustration started again when we got to our room. We booked a Junior Suite and paid extra for a 3rd guest in the room. We checked in well past the check-in time and when we got to our room, it had not been set up for a 3rd guest. So we had to wait for housekeeping staff to bring in the extra bed and set up the room. I would have understood if the extra guest was a surprise and told to your staff at check in but in fact you pre-charged me for the extra bed so you should have know of our arrival. Then we wanted to maximize the sightseeing as we only had a few days in Rome. So when we approached the Concierge for information about tours and tickets to the Vatican/Sistine Chapel, his terse response was a piece of paper with the Vatican web-site address scribbled on it! I would expect that at other "moderate" hotels but not at the St. Regis. Again, when I compare the service of the Concierge in Florence, he acquired museum tickets for us, had them ready at the hotel and gave us detailed instructions of how to use them. I do have to say the other staff such as housekeeping and waiters were very friendly but based on the experience with the Concierge, I will never stay at your property in Rome again, given all the other excellent options in that city. Rated 2 out of 5 by Below Expectation I have stayed in the Junior Suite of this hotel. Dirty plates were still in front of room over half day later . Slippers had disappeared after the first night. No refurbishing of bathroom amenities. Personal buttler was inexistant. Impossible to reach reception/house-keeping by phone. No explanation about facility ( could not figure out where spa and gym were). No greetings from afternoon staff . February 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A suite experience of truly Roman elegance In true St Regis style the hotel is discreetly tucked away near the very center of Rome. My entrance to the hotel informed me by the beauty of the building that I was in for a special life experience. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a knowledgeable and gracious staff. I was upgraded to a beautiful suite, with every amenity present in perfect taste... a fluffy robe, an umbrella stand with an umbrella grand enough for any downpour, Remede' products in the bathroom that have since become one of my favorite product lines... The room was very tastefully decorated with a bed that made sleeping a dream. With all of this I must say the part of my stay that most plays upon my mind is the beautiful view from the living room window' truly an iconic Roman vista... with a church next door there were crosses, pillars, statues. A window to a timeless world. This stay was a lifetime experience I will always look back upon with great appreciation. December 8, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel was disappointing We were not very impressed with this hotel. It was not welcoming and staff was not friendly. The room was a bit "tired" and needed some improvement. This hotel would not be our first choice in Rome on our next visit. December 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by An awesome hotal We felt at home in the hotel. The room was quite spacious, very clean and stocked with modern amenities (except for an electric iron which we understand is forbidden by Italian law, but would have been good to have without having to pay for pressing). The staff was paradoxically " invisible but ever-present" and provided very warm, prompt and knowledgeable service. That is you don't notice anyone lurking around you but they just seem to appear be available or appear when you need them. the food at the restaurant and for breakfast was awesome. We will be back again September 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Elegance and Convenience in One Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights while visiting Rome with family. We had two rooms and using my suite night awards, both our rooms were upgraded - one to a junior suite and one to a designer suits. Both were very elegantly decorated, befitting the expectations of Roman imperials. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was excellent, and overall it was a superb experience. Location wise the hotel is conveniently located close to central Rome near Pantheon and Trevi, a short ride away from Colosseum, and is easily accessible by train/public transport. November 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Roman Getaway I stayed in this property for 4 nights. The hotel was beautiful and with a great location. The bathroom in room 119 could use some TLC and a coat of paint. In comparison with the properties in Venice and Florence, also Westin, I feel the staff at the St. Regis could use some coaching in being nicer to the guests, both at the checking guest and the concierges I dealt with. I must say that the two ladies I dealt with, both at the front desk and at the concierges' desk were very friendly. However, all the males at both desks could use some coaching. October 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent in every way Our stay started when we had the good fortune to be checked-in by Frederica. She was both exceptionally efficient and very welcoming. She arranged for us to have coffee in the lobby while we waited for our room. The room exceeded our expectations in every way-- beautiful furnishings, large and well-equipped bathroom, perfect bed. But the staff of the St. Regis made this a truly exceptional hotel stay. From the breakfast staff in the morning to the butler available for anything we needed, this was a perfect stay. We will return as soon as we can. October 15, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by St. Regis Rome Did not meet my expectations will not stay there again. Total disappointment considering it is a St. Regis. Any requests had to be made multiple times. I waited in the room for 45 minutes for them to collect my laundry. Several phone calls were made. My wake up call was for 5:30am and they called me at 5am. That early in the morning I really wanted every extra minute I could get! The service at the bar was terrible - we were ignored for 20 minutes before we were served and had to ask for the complimentary appetizers others had. Another time I went for coffee and after 15 mins no one came so I left. The room was beyond small. Really unfomfortable. The bathroom though was really nice. The turndown service was non-existant. They threw new towels into the bathroom and did not even turn the bed down. There was no feather pillow in the room and when I asked for 2 I was only given 1. Also they did not replace the toiletry items (ie - mouthwash). The upgrade was not given despite GOLD status. Requested a room away from the elevator and I was given a room directly next to it. The maid took away the knife and plate so I was not able to eat the remaining fruit in the room. The minibar items (ie - chocolate) were not in the room. They did not replace the water for the 2nd night. All of these things are small but coupled together made it really unpleasant stay. Thumbs down. June 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Top Notch Experience Immediately upon arrival we were impressed by the attentive staff. The hotel is extremely luxurious which was evident as we entered the hotel lobby. The room surpassed all expectations and met all our needs. Most impressive were the wonderful concierges, especially Georgia and Pasqualle. They listened to what we needed and directed us to the kind of experience we dreamed of. I would recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone looking to totally enjoy Rome. May 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Service We stayed at the St. Regis for Five nights. We were welcomed with an amenity which was really nice. The room was very quite and comfortable. They did a great job of rewarding us for gold status with a complimentary room upgrade. The concierges were very knowledgable. Mario, Pasquale, and the rest of the concierges did a great job of helping us during and prior to our arrival. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome looking for a comfortable home base which allows you to enjoy all the Rome has to offer. September 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Luxury and Service The staff at this hotel were excellent and happy to assist us. We needed some laundry done and it was quick and very neatly delivered to our room. The room was clean and turndown service was excellent. We ordered room service a couple of times and it was done perfectly, also ate at the restaurant downstairs and again great service and delicious meal. The concierge was most helpful in arranging for a private guide while in Rome, and suggested some good places to eat as well. Overall a really great experience. April 30, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Historic place No recognition of SPG membership, (newspaper or free wifi access, etc.) WIFI access for a daily fee!! May 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by One of Rome's best, especially if the location suits Surely this is one of Rome's top hotels for nearly everything (and I've visited the city perhaps 10 times over 40 years). Style, refinement, comfort, staff attentiveness, and dining excellence are all what one would expect from a St. Regis. Provided that potential guests can afford this elegance, the only further consideration is the hotel's location. It is somewhat removed from the main tourist areas, which can be either a bother or benefit depending on the purpose of the visit. In any event there are important attractions nearby, and all of Rome is still accessible by Metro or to the hardy walker. It’s also a short walk to Stazione Termini, making day trips to other locations a simple matter. April 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent service and accommodation The St Regis, Roma personnel, from the front desk, bell service, concierge to the food and beverage positions do their jobs exceptionally. The hotel's location is great for sightseeing, convenience of transport options. Rooms, even at the standard rate, low floor, on the street side of the building are large and quiet for comfort and relaxation. The one concern during our visit was the lack of speedy delivery of hot beverages at the ground floor breakfast buffet. September 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Best Hotel Chain on the Planet St. Regis exceeded our expectations. Wonderful food, luxurious room, and impeccable service. The hotel lobby was jaw dropping, gorgeous. I will never stay any other place in Rome. The service was gracious, everyone who helped us spoke English well and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. February 5, 2014
