Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotel Excellence My family stay at this hotel every year over summer, and as always, again this year, the St Regis NY and its staff far exceeded our already high expectations. From the moment we were greeted by Samuel at the reception, until our departure, and again taken care of by Samuel, the quality of the hotel was of an exceptional level. It was a fantastic experience. I spend many months a year in hotels around the world, but this is an altogether unique experience that I always look forward to thanks to the team's dedication to providing a very special experience. Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing birthday experience Once again the St Regis is the gold standard. The New York hotel was great for service, food and the suite itself. It was my birthday and I was treated to a wonderful cake. We had a lovely Bentley ride to our dinner at Daniel nearby. Our room was so comfortable (we were upgraded) and our meal at the King Cole Bar was exceptional for food and service. We enjoyed our American breakfast in our room, and that service was excellent too, as were the services of the doormen and desk staff. The location is unbeatable -- an oasis with so much to enjoy nearby. We'll be back! July 7, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not overly impressed Our stay at St Regis New York started very well with a warm and personal welcome by Shilohe (Mimi) at the front desk followed by a very nice dinner at Astor Court. Location is obviously as good as it gets. The concierge team is great, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Javier in Astor Court was great and the same goes for Jesse. However, in general the service in Astor Court was very slow, it took a lot of time to get a table for breakfast, it took too long to order and the waiting time between the different servings was rather long. In addition, on two occasions the service in Astor Court literally evaporated after we had checked the bill and we had to take care of ourselves which is disappointing taking into consideration the reputation and prices of this hotel. At the outset I didn’t think too much of this, but my wife did and she shared this with the front desk manager, which resulted in me being called up by a manager from Astor Court and as I wasn’t aware of my wife´s unhappiness I told that we were fine. The manager had not been doing any homework before he called me as he offered us breakfast the next day, which was already included as Platinum benefit. This obviously didn’t make my wife any happier and she once more called the front desk manager who in an annoyed tone responded that she thought this was sorted out and hence couldn’t understand why my wife bothered to call once more and asked my wife what she expected. This is 2016 so I cant really understand why the staff calls me when my wife is the one not being happy. In the end the butler offered us a bottle of champagne and strawberries, which is a nice treat, but taking into consideration the expectations and the fact that there was no fresh fruit and no turn down service the last day, we were not overly impressed and I am not sure we will stay here another time. Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has oustanding customer service. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my wife broke a bone in her foot when she stepped in a pothole crossing a street the second day of our stay. The staff went above an beyond the call of duty to accommodate her needs. We want to give special kudos to Tamara, our butler, who anticipated and met all of our needs and to Jessie, our waitress. The service from both of these ladies was impeccable and commendable. Rated 3 out of 5 by expected more from Luxury Hotel Attended a wonderful wedding at St.Regis NYC Staff is excellent and extremely considerate, room was very clean The particular room was FAR below expectations as to accommodation Very dark with lights having to Be on ANY and ALL times of day Bedding was very heavy w/o a top sheet restricting the removal of the comforter. Uncomfortable sleeping! Displeasure with accommodation provided to management with a statement that "they would be in touch" and NEVER heard from them! This was May 14-15. Would NOT recommend for a stay June 19, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible Experience I travel to NY often and have stayed in the St. Regis on past visits. I also regularly stay at The St. Regis in Miami, and in Florence, Rome, and Venice, Italy. I normally have a fantastic experience. On this occasion on check in, the agent graciously offered me an upgrade to a large beautiful suite. However I did not take it as they required the room back by 1pm next day and I knew I may need the room until a later checkout or that I would possibly be extending my stay. The agent Sarah was polite and very friendly. The next day prior to my guaranteed late checkout I informed the front desk that I would be having a meeting in the hotel and it looks like I may need to extend my stay. When my meeting was over I made my way back to let them know that I would be extending my stay. I was also on the phone with a Starwood operator who was trying to help with my reservation and asked me to go to the front desk to make sure I was not double booked for my extended stay. As I was speaking to the front desk, a lady came and popped over and entered the conversation from the back, identified herself as the front desk manager and told me that since I had "refused to leave my room", she had charged my credit card for another day. It was humiliating to be spoken to in This manner and to be blatantly accused of this false behavior. I proceeded to cancel my reservation and move to another five-star hotel in NY. Please note that I have stayed in some of the best suites in other St. Regis properties and the staff have always been professional and friendly. This person is not fit to be working in a luxury hotel of this stature and has completely soured what otherwise would have been a beautiful stay. June 15, 2016
