As a very frequent traveller one of the finest hotels I return to when I can.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the St Regis hotel. I traveled with my family in Novemebr for a theater weekend in New York and we had two rooms and one suite. The location of the hotel was perfect for access to many Fifth Avenue shops and restaurants and a short cab ride to the Metropolitan Museum and Lincoln Center. The hotel has recently undergone a significant refurbishment and the quality of the furnishings and updating was exceptional. Everything sparkled: from the ornate and substantial moldings to the clean and fresh carpeting. The bathrooms are large with marble vanities, separate tubs and showers, and were easily used by two people simultaneously (a luxury in NYC)! The butler service is wonderful in and of itself. It couldn't be nicer to come back for afternoon tea in your room or to find fresh fruit on the table, The details are thoughtful and everything is carefully prepared and unobtrusively delivered, down to the maid service which is near instantaneous in the morning. The restaurant serves an excellent breakfast and the King Cole Bar is justifiably famous. It is hopping well into the night. The staff at the front desk could not have been more pleasant. They went out of their way to recognize me every time I entered the hotel and to ask me how my day was. In a city often notorious for its indifference, this represents a welcome warmth and hospitality. I have stayed in many luxury hotels over time, but I have to say that my recent experiences with the St Regis in Rome and now the St Regis in New York have made this hotel brand my absolute favorite. They clearly make a concerted effort to go the extra mile. Their brand of personalized service will breed customer loyalty. I expect to choose the St Regis every time and look forward to every stay.

My wife came to NYC on a visit for her 65th birthday with my two daughters. 3 rooms. The rooms/hotel were great. I explained at great length how important it was for them all to be on the same floor for convenience and on something higher than the 4th floor because of street noise. So when the 1st daughter checked in, you had them split between the 3rd and 4th floors. Thankfully it was corrected but really. For a 3 rm resv you could not fulfill a simple courtesy promised at resv time without a hassle?

My lifetime Platinum status meant NOTHING to this hotel. No upgrade, no amenity, NOTHING. This failure aside, the rooms are old and out of date technologically when compared to others at this level. The TV actually had numerous cables exposed and just hanging. It didn't even have HD, in fact the picture was terrible! The bathroom didn't have a nightlight or dimmable lighting! The eButler was a complete disaster. The staff was much more impressed with themselves than I was. The Astor Court is in desperate need of updating and new upholstery on the furnishings. The chairs and couches were FILTHY.

THIS HOTEL IS A GEM . IT HAS CLASSIC STYLE MIXED WITH MODERN LUXE FABRICS AND BEDS TO DIE FOR. THE BATHROOMS ARE SOME OF THE BEST IN NEW YORK THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED. THE SIZE OF THE HOTEL MAKES FOR PERSONAL SERVICE. THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT
