College Recruiting: MBA Program

Why choose Starwood?  It’s simple . . . you’ll work with dedicated, bright, engaging and fun individuals in a warm atmosphere where caring and supporting each other is second nature.  Also, the hospitality industry has limitless opportunities to build an exciting career.

Starwood offers summer internships to first-year MBA students in numerous business functions such as Marketing, Operations, Sales, Real Estate and Finance.  Our MBA interns are immersed in their teams and given ownership of key projects and initiatives.  Throughout the summer, interns work closely with senior leadership at Starwood, are exposed to core business processes, and are assigned a mentor to help guide their development.  Along with the focus on business and developmental goals, our program provides some fun too, through social and networking activities and events throughout the summer.

All Starwood Internships are located in our corporate office in Stamford, CT.  Starwood ensures its interns are given the foundation to contribute and grow from the start.  Our full day orientation will immerse interns into our company culture, our brands and divisional structure.  Each intern will be assigned a sponsor, a mentor, and a “buddy” to assist throughout the summer.

All summer interns are considered for leadership opportunities in our company following graduation.  At Starwood, learning and development does not end after graduation.  Associates create individual development plans and work with their managers to reach their goals.

We visit a small number of schools in early 2012 to recruit for the MBA summer program including The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the Kellogg School of Management and Harvard Business School. Please check the postings at your school for details on how to drop a resume. Interested first-year MBA students from other schools should email their resume to MBAInternProgram@starwoodhotels.com

The MBA program is limited to first-year MBA students only. Applicants also must have permanent work authorization in the U.S.  Experienced, non-student candidates and those without appropriate work authorization are invited to search our global career opportunities.
