Located on the second floor of the East wing, Aquablu is our sleek all-day dining restaurant. This vibrant restaurant features an interactive show kitchen where our talented chefs show their expertise in Western and Asian buffets and à la carte menus.
Breakfast brings American-style items, including health-enhancing SuperFoodsRx™ like Bircher muesli, as well as a sampling of local Kyoto-style cuisine. At lunch, try delicious European style options such as Caesar salad or an American clubhouse sandwich, or distinctive Kyoto favorites like pickled vegetables and locally-prepared tofu.
Dinner offers fresh and impressive selections ranging from roasted meats and vegetables to Japanese udon or soba noodles, homemade curries, and Chirashi sushi—vinegared rice with thin strips of egg, raw fish, and vegetables. On select nights we present a themed buffet comprising French, Italian, Hokkaido, or other distinctive cuisines. Guests can pair meals with wines or beers from an international selection.
We also offer a kids’ buffet with favorites such as spaghetti and cheeseburgers.
Located on the third floor of the West wing, Moonlight Bar is a subdued and inviting place for chatting with friends or simply enjoying the soothing sounds of live jazz while savoring your beverage of choice.
Choose from a full drink menu ranging from aromatized wine to sake and Whiskey, as well as over 30 types of cocktails and a variety of beers. We also offer a menu of light snacks that includes tempting options such as an American club sandwich, pizza, smoked salmon, and fried noodles.
Located on the third floor of the Main wing, Kacho is a distinctive Japanese dining venue specializing in one of Japan’s favorite comfort foods: the hot pot. Prepared right at the table, our hot pots make for a unique dining experience.
Great for sharing, Yudofu is a Kyoto specialty consisting of tofu cooked in a broth with dried seaweed, locally grown vegetables, and mushrooms. We also offer a variety of individual hot pots, such as Shabu-Shabu or Sukiyaki, featuring Ohmi beef and udon noodles. The Chanko hot pot includes seafood, pork, or chicken with a choice of udon or ramen noodles. Hot pots are served with your choice of sauces including options like tofu soy sauce or yuzu lemon-miso.
Select from a range of set meals that include appetizers plus sashimi, noodles or rice, and dessert. Hot and cold sake varieties from Kyoto and other regions are the perfect complement to any dish. For something unusual, choose from specialty sakes like sweet yuzu lemon sake, and signature cocktails such as the Oolong Hai, with shochu Liquor and Oolong tea.
Kunugi Teppanyaki—on the third floor of the West wing—features a glass wall facing our Japanese-style gardens. In this relaxing setting, guests sit at 16 counter seats around a U-shaped teppanyaki table and look on as our chefs employ expert techniques in grilling the finest cuts of Japanese beef and seafood to perfection.
A wide-ranging teppanyaki and sushi menu includes premium Kyoto beef, fresh-grilled abalone, and beef fried rice, plus sushi selections such as Wagyu beef, medium fatty tuna, shrimp, and daily chef's specials. Freshly prepared and healthful options include lightly grilled seasonal vegetables and vegetable soups, plus seasonal sorbets and homemade desserts. Set menus with appetizers, soup, vegetables, salads, and fruit and sorbet courses are available.

Shishen, found on the third floor of our Main wing, is a locally acclaimed eatery specializing in perfectly-prepared Cantonese cuisine, with Sichuan favorites as well. Featuring casual yet upscale décor, Shishen boasts excellent views of Kyoto and a two-meter-long fish tank.
Lunch includes a course menu as well as an à la carte menu featuring over 100 dishes. The delicious Hong Kong-style three-course Dim Sum encompasses many types of dumplings, including steamed pork and sesame, steamed Chinese crépes with shrimp, and many more. Favorite dinner entrées range from stir-fried beef with seasonal vegetables and crispy chicken with tofu to stir-fried seasonal fish, and spicy tofu made with Kyoto bean curd—a chef's specialty.
Distinctive desserts such as papaya in sweet coconut milk round out a meal. Shishen offers imported beers, an extensive wine cellar, and a range of Shaoxing rice wines. A children's menu is available for younger guests.
For an intimate dining experience, we offer four private dining rooms for groups of six to 20.
The Mayfair Tea Room inspires revitalizing conversation over tea and light bites in a sophisticated, lounge-like atmosphere on the first floor of the West wing.
Enjoy a delightful Afternoon Tea ritual consisting of the finest British and Japanese teas, served with homemade cake or scones. Relax with a glass of wine or a tempting cocktail, or whet your appetite with an aperitif before your meal. Guests can also order house-made pastries and bread, chocolates, or cookies to go.
Located on the third floor of our West wing and focusing on French and Western-style cuisine, Grand View boasts panoramic views of the mountains and Kyoto from a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. This soothing setting is decorated in warm earth tones, the perfect backdrop to delightful menus featuring locally grown produce, along with other exquisite, seasonal fare.
For lunch, we offer Italian trattoria-style cuisine—including house-made pasta—with local and international ingredients selected by the chef. Bright flavors intermingle in delicious selections like fedelini pasta with smoked mackerel and matsutake mushrooms, stewed aged Tajima Japanese Wagyu beef, or roasted free range chicken.
Enjoy elegant dinners with appetizers and entrées such as Italian prosciutto salad, roasted lobster with stewed eggplant, and baked fish with shimeji mushrooms. Finish your meal with something sweet such as pear compote with sorbet. A wide selection of choice international wines and imported beers are available.
