Alcohol Policy

Please be advised that guests must be 21 years old or older to purchase alcohol and that no alcohol purchased outside the resort may be consumed in public areas of the resort. Also, alcoholic beverages are prohibitied on the beach per town ordinances.

Check Policy

We are pleased to accept personal checks with a valid ID, but cannot accept third party checks.

The resort does not cash personal checks at the Front Desk; however, there is an ATM available in the lobby for your convenience.

Hurricane Policy

Please be advised that a Mandatory Evacuation issued by the Governor’s office requires that all guests and associates evacuate the island when asked. No exceptions.

Connecting Room Policy

If you request connecting rooms we will be pleased to accommodate you based on availability.

Credit Card Policy

With valid photo ID, all major credit cards will be accepted (American Express, Carte Blanche Diners, Mastercard, Visa and Discover). To use a debit card at registration, guest must read and sign a Debit Card Disclaimer which lets you know that your bank will withhold the amount of the room per night from your account — even if you do not use that card as payment at check-out.

Credit card authorization forms are not accepted by the hotel. Please contact the hotel directly regarding the pre-payment of a reservation.

Dress Code

We request that guests refrain from wearing beach attire in the lobby area. Also, shoes and shirts are required in our restaurants.

Early Departure Policy

Please be advised that a fee of one night's room rate plus taxes will apply to all early departures.

Early Arrival Policy

We will be delighted to accommodate early arrival registration, based upon availability.

Extra Bedding Policy

We are happy to offer our Heavenly Rollaway Beds, based on availability, in King rooms only.

Gift Certificate Policy

We are delighted to honor valid unexpired Gift Certificates based on availability; however, black out dates may apply.

Please be advised that Gift Certificates are only valid for the dates listed and cannot be extended past their expiration date.

We request that you provide us with Gift Certificate information when booking a reservation. Also, Gift Certificates must be present during redemption and cannot be replaced.

ID Requirement

A valid government or state issued ID is required for registration. The guest who reserved the stay under their name must be present at the time of check-in.

Late Checkout Policy

We will be pleased to accommodate late check-outs based upon availability. However, please note that a full day rate will be charged to all guests who check-out after 4:00 PM hotel time.

Package Handling Policy

There is a package handling fee for all incoming and outbound packages. Please contact the hotel directly for the exact fee.

Pet Policy

With required advance notice,The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa is delighted to accept dogs. However, they must be under the weight of 20 lbs. A $150.00 non-refundable deposit will be charged.

Rooms available for guests with dogs are located on the first floor of the resort. Under no circumstance may a dog be left unattended in a guest’s room.  Also, please note that dogs are not allowed by the pools or in any of the restaurants, and that dogs are restricted from the beach area from 9am to 5pm.

Credit/Debit Card Policy

Debit and Credit cards will be authorized at check-in for the amount of your stay, plus an amount to cover incidentals. The authorization will hold the funds until check out, at which time the amount actually incurred during the stay will be charged. Authorized amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by your bank or financial institution and the hotel will not be responsible for any resulting fees or charges.

Pool Policy

Swimming is permitted between the hours of 7am and 10pm. Please be advised that there are no lifeguards on duty —  so guests swim at their own risk.

Children under the age of 12 must always be accompanied by an adult; diapered children must be in swim diapers, which are available at the gift shop; and children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the whirlpool.  Also, please do not take food or glassware into the pool areas.

For the safety of our guests, our resort adheres to a No Diving Policy.

Purchase Order Acceptance Policy

Purchase orders are accepted for contracted Government Groups only, with no exceptions allowed.

Resort Charge Policy

A Daily Resort Service Charge of 20 USD, plus tax, includes shuttle service to resort golf, tennis and local shopping mall, local and 800 toll-free phone calls up to 60 minutes, access to WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio, self-parking as well as wireless internet access.

Smoking Policy

Please be advised that all public areas, guest rooms, guest room balconies, poolside and restaurants are non-smoking.  A map with designated outside smoking areas can be found at the front desk.   If there is evidence of smoking in the room or on the room's balcony, a $200 cleaning fee/penalty/charge will be applied per incident.
