I was in town to run the Vancouver 1/2 Marathon. From check-in to check-out the staff was incredibly friendly. Our check in experience was over the top when the front desk had a room ready for us with a magnificent view of Mt Baker, BC Place and the city. When I returned from the run, the guys on the ground floor offered me water and a towel -- how thoughtful.

Vertical hotel, with 8-9 rooms per floor with about 40 floors. Room smelled musty. I mentioned to reception and their solution was to put an ionizer in the room. I was moved, and that room was equally musty. I again provided feedback to reception and they did nothing. I found the concierge very nice and helpful: woman with black hair. I wouldn't stay at the Grand again.

Great location, especially for Grey Cup. The bed was indeed heavenly and the seating was both generous and comfortable. Even allowing for sell out the elevators were extremely slow - waits of over 15 minutes. I had expected a somewhat larger, and empty, fridge based on website. I had asked for foam pillows and had to re-ask. Booked with some nights on points and some as cash and so ended up with four different reservation codes that were never cross-referenced. Cleaning staff kept thinking I was checking out when I wasn't.. So did front desk. Charges for dining and room were charged to my credit card without my ever seeing the bill. If you're paying extra for a balcony - it is very small. Staff were very helpful when a problem was pointed out. Not sure I really received the treatment I would have expected as a platinum member - certainly not to the same standard as I've received at other Westin and Sheraton properties.

i stay at the Westin Grand Vancouver often for business. What i really like is the large room, comfy beds, great downtown location, close to rapid transit lines, fantastic pool, sauna, hot tub, gym.
the only downside is the wait for the elevators. If you can accept a delay in getting to your room or back down to the lobby then you will enjoy your stay here.

I love the spacious suites - the bedroom separated from the living area and the kitchen and its amenities, including a microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, very nice dishes and coffee maker. This is a quality hotel that I stay at every time I'm in Vancouver, BC. Each suite is shaped differently. Try to get one on an upper floor for a view!

Stayed per and post cruise for a few days. Great property - one of the nicest staffs I've ever encountered in a hotel - everyone from Bell Services to Front Desk to the Housekeeping staff always had a smile and made sure we were happy.
Only complaint is the elevators are very slow. Had to wait literally 15 minutes on the 7th floor twice.

This is my fav place in Vancity.
1. Location - at the end of Robson St. Super!!
2. Quality - it's a Westin. Enough said. Also, it's an all-suite hotel.
3. Food - hmmm. The "hidden" restaurant is a must try. Breakfast is delicious.
4. Service - best staff. Always courteous and respectful.

Very long time to get the elevators, a minimum of 10-12 minutes each time. Pool was closed for the Saturday the 4th of August without informing incoming guests by e-mail that they will not be able to utilize the pool. Our suite on the 27th floor; the airconditioner system in the room was not functioning.

Another wonderful stay here. Rooms are always clean and fresh. The floor to ceiling windows allow for spectacular views of the city. Staff is very helpful and accomodating. And, the hotel is very convenient to public transit. I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Vancouver.

The service express team at the Westin Grand was absolutely amazing and made me feel valued. Unfortunately if you're looking for an a la carte breakfast this is the wrong hotel for you. I was told that my only option was the buffet and runny eggs aren't my idea of a good time.

In the midst of downtown - easy to get to great restaurants, shops, and tour buses. Staff was very helpful in suggesting good restaurants. Exercise facility was being renovated, but basic equipment could be used. Room had nice layout and was comfortable. Nice, large bathroom.

Staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Elizabeth (from Norway) at front desk, Lisa (Concierge), wait staff in lounge (didn't get names...sorry), and porters. They could not have better! Accomodations were also excellent. Clean and comfortable.

Excellent hotel in great location.
Very much a boutique hotel, which is unusual for Westin.
The staff and service are superb - you can't ask for more.
The rooms are great.
Now if they can just something about Vancouver's June gloom they would be beyond human.

This is my hotel of choice for visiting Vancouver on business. It is in a central location but never has a feeling of being busy. The rooms are all suites and very comfortable. Food and beverage service is top-notch.

Location was great, Room was OK. The main issue is that they would not honour the rate I booked through SPG (Platinum concierge) and it ended up cositing me over $100 more for 1 night.

A girlfriend and I stayed here for the night. The front desk staff, especially Rachelle were so polite, friendly and helpful. The room was wonderful and the view was inviting.

I frequently travel for work and what is important for me is a nice quiet area.
Too often hotels are near emergency vehicle paths or noisy with vehicle traffic.
Not this hotel, as it is in great part of Vancouver with lots of local food stops in the area and walking to most building in the area.
The room that I had had a great view and quite up to date.
A small issue is that you enter on the main level of the hotel and you have to check-in on the 1st floor. Don't let this dismay you as the hotel is great in all other respects and that's a minor issue due to the sized of the lobby.

I was looking for a place to stay in Vancouver for at least a couple of weeks, and checked out of here after three nights.
My issues with the place were:
1) One of the two elevators was only working, and I had to wait over five minutes almost every time I needed to use the elevator. This is unacceptable.
2) I sent an email on the first night to guest services voicing two concerns - that a) there was a lack of hangers in my room and b) that the complimentary bottle of water advertised on the website is no longer, and in the room it says that tap water should be drank instead. I did not bring a water bottle for the gym because I was under the impression there would be a complimentary one in the room. Instead, guests have the "option" of a mini bar water bottle for seven dollars. No thanks. This email was never addressed with a call or reply back, nor were any more hangers or a water bottle delivered to the room.
The gym is decent for a hotel gym, and my room was always cleaned very well by the maid.
However, despite the gym and maid service, I would not stay at this hotel again. There are hotels in a comparable price range that have much much better customer service, as well as functioning elevators.

I booked the hotel for friends as a gift on their wedding night.
They really appreciated and enjoyed it. The reception left from the Westin Bayshore but we found we got better room value at the Grande. I had checked in to put some stuff in the fridge in the afternoon and thought the room was very nice. ****I had arranged with the desk to put any incidentals including parking on my credit card. The shift that was on when the couple arrived didn't seem to be able to access that info. Anyway they gave them complimentary parking as a wedding gift. Which I thought was great (and appropriate). PS they didn't use any facilities (even breakfast) so can't comment.

Waited an average of 5 mins for an elevator. One time was 9 minutes which is not good when staying on 22nd floor and need to meet someone for an appointment. The TV in my bedroom only worked 50% of the time - when not working it read "searching for signal". Someone tried to fix it but could not. Not a big deal because I wasn't there to watch TV - but not good. The elevator situation alone will make me not stay here again.

My family made an excellent choice staying Westin Grand for our Vancouver trip. Upon our arrival, I knew we were going to be taken care of. At check-in, our room was not quite ready, and with a fussy baby ready for a nap, the staff was quick to whip out a trunk of goodies to entertain the little guy and offered mom and dad a drink from the bar. We were fortunate to receive an upgraded suite were floored by the extra space and kitchenette area. Outstanding staff, kind service, clean and tidy accomoadations, great workout facilities. We definitely made ourselves at home here.

This is one of the pet friendly hotel in Vancouver and I love the location as well.
Pro: comfy bed,clean room and hotel staff are friendly and pet stay for free.
I wish the hotel will offer dog bowls and dog bed when I told them I have dog with me. I have never received the heavenly dog bed as westin stated on the website,
I would not recommended breakfast as it's pricy and not many selections. Overall good stay.

Everything about this property is excellent. From the super-helpful staff, to the comfort of the facilities, views from the rooms, and design of the property. Unfortunately, though, there are no outlets at the in-room desk, making it challenging to work from a laptop while charging your devices. Yes, there are outlets in the kitchenette, on the wall in the middle of the room, and in the bathroom, but those are not the locations where they are needed. There was not even an outlet available bed-side, so my ability to charge my phone and iPad overnight while I slept, and keep it in close proximity to use as an alarm is just not doable. Bring a power strip if you stay at this property.

I received an upgrade which was great, the downside was the staff banging on in the amenities room next door 26flr, the phone didn't work, and there were no powerpoints available so I requested an extension board and got it. Didn't get the green option to save water on towels etc. Clean comfortable and great beds, internet worked very well. No iron in the room but got one. Gym was good one bike, free weights and weight machine, pool was small but can do laps spa was great on 3rd floor outside.
