Disappointed with this Westin.. We arrived with two other friends and ended up on two different floors. The rooms were booked a month or so before we arrived and yet they put us on separate floors, 4th and 9th.. The hot water in my Harbour view room was not working.. A maintenance guy had to spend an hour or so to fix it... The carpets in the hallways on the 4th floor were stained and old. The place needs a good paint job as well.. I don't think this Hotel was renovated in a very long time... For me it was disappointing considering the rooms with a Harbour view were over $300/night... Great location though... The staff member at the front desk did make an effort to resolve the issue with the hot water and did whatever she could to help make our stay enjoyable.. Overall an average stay... I will probably choose another location next time I am in Vancouver....

Rooms were not of the standard I would expect in Westin hotel. Housekeeping failed to show up. I did not get the room type I requested. Room service meal was average. Room service did not come to pick up my tray. It stayed in my room for 2 days. Breakfast in dining room was average - omlette was burnt and not good. Overall very disappointing stay.

We returned from an Alaskan Cruise and a 5 day tour of Vancouver Island - spent, sweaty, fatigued and exhausted. The Westin was a welcome port in a storm. We were able to shower and refresh in luxury, sleep well in a beautiful setting and continue our journey. This was made all the more pleasant because of the close walking distance to great restaurants, biking at Stanley Park and easy access to downtown venues.

The Westin is in a beautiful location near Stanley Park. The views (from a bay view room) are spectacular. The room itself is well laid out to maximise comfort and enjoyment of the views. The opening balcony doors enhance this experience. The Westin heavenly bed remains an excellent and restful experience.
The only weak point is the bathroom. The shower screens are inadequate for the wonderful rainfall type shower head resulting in minor bathroom flooding with every shower. There is a paucity of places to hand towels to dry (and no ability at all to hang swimwear or hand washed items to dry). A liquid body soap would also have been a nice additional feature.

This is clearly a property which takes pride in its quality. I'll take this opportunity to point out a few minor glitches that I experienced.
- We appreciated the crib and bag of treats for our infant however it would have been very beneficial to us if the hotel offered a small baby tub for our youngest. Large showers and infants are a dangerous combination.
- The rental movies in our suite were continually flashing to black and then returning to our movies.
- While checking out I let the gentleman at the luggage desk know that we would require a luggage cart to our room and even offered to bring it up myself, as we had a ferry to catch. I was told that we would have one in five minutes. I took our children and got our vehicle from the parking garage. We waited in the car for 15-20 minutes only to see my wife lugging two heavy suitcases, a diaper bag, a laptop bag, and her purse out of the hotel and towards our car. Apparently she was tired of waiting. I understand that this is a busy time for the bellmen which is why I offered to bring my own cart up to the room. I feel like sometimes, when things are busy, guests could be allowed a degree of self-sufficiency at the cost of a potential tip.

The Westin Bayshore is a home away from home for my regular business travel to Vancouver. The hotel sits on one of the finest properties in Vancouver. Near Stanley Park and downtown the hotel is right on the waterfront with spectacular views. The staff is some of the best I have encountered. I would recommend this great location when travelling to Vancouver for a short business trip or an extended stay to relax and enjoy the city of Vancouver.

I stayed on level 5 of the Tower and found the room to be spacious and comfortable, with pretty much everything I expected.
I was pleasantly surprised by the location, as I had thought it was going to be slightly outside the main part of the city, but I found walking around Vancouver absolutely no problem.
I was also very pleased when the hotel offered to give me an extended check out time of 3pm, which helped my arrangements significantly.

Stayed at this hotel several times and always impressed. However this stay was extremely poor. As a platinum level guest did not receive any special treatment. Requested a high floor but upon check in was given a low floor with limited view. As a platinum level I am a custom to Starwood hotels pre selecting a room that honor’s my request. One of the mornings I had to wait 30 minutes to get a table for breakfast. The pool area had towels laying round on the empty chairs for a long period of time. The room only had one guest robe and housekeeping did a poor job of cleaning the room daily. Would not recommend this hotel!!

The Hotel itself was wonderful, great location and views of the harbor. The walls between rooms however are paper thin. I could hear the guest next to me every time I was in my room. I also had an odd discovery when I moved the chair and ottoman, there was a handful of peanuts all over the floor. The staff was very courteous and the breakfast buffet had great variety. I would stay here again after shopping around to see what other hotels & room rates are available in the area.

Right on the harbour, steps to Stanley park, great outdoor pool with a backdrop of the north shore mountains.
Also appreciate the staff who make you feel welcome. Its one thing to have a nice / elegant hotel - and another to have staff who treat you like you're welcome and not as though you 'don't ' belong, because you didn't pull .up in a Mercedes.

Over all, the staff was amazing and the food was very good, but there were a couple of issues. The room service pizza was very poor, and despite expressing my disappointment with what tasted like a frozen pizza, they did not follow up with me. Upon departure, one staff member plunked my heavy luggage down with a "There ya go" after he brought them from storage. I had interrupted his google image search (the porter was helping someone else), and neither he nor the doorman offered any help as I struggled to get the luggage to my vehicle. It is too bad that these incidents had to blemish an otherwise excellent stay.

We had a great time in Vancouver and the hotel made a great difference..close to all the major places:Stanley Park, English Bay, downtown, etc. The staff's - namely AYLA's ,recommendation re. restaurants was right on!
Thank you for the lovely time we had in one of the most beautiful cities in the world..

Great situation and fabulous views across the water, staff are friendly, respectful and very professional and the rooms also have great views across the harbor.. On the downside the old tower which I stayed in is showing its age, dull and dowdy (brown) colour schemes and sadly few tech facilities - few power points in convenient locations for laptops and smartphones. The TV - also fixed angle to the bed and not rotation to view from the comfortable seating. Frankly its just a little dated!

The Westin Bayshore is only steps away from Stanley Park and shopping on Robson. Right on the water with beautiful views. I also really appreciate the comfort of Westin Beds. First rate stay.

Close but not in downtown ...5 minute walk in one direction, and 5 minutes other way has you in Stanley Park. Lots of walking places, a great pool, lots of meeting rooms; and great staff!

I have stayed at the Bay Shore over 50 times and have been known to call it my home away from home. Although I hadn’t been in Vancouver for about 4 years, when it came to planning a trip with our friends from Australia I know I had to make the Bay Shore part of our tour.
As I indicated, I had not stayed at the Bay Shore for a few years yet Todd, the Door Man, immediately recognized me and warmly greeted me and by the time we were inside with our luggage had figured out our names (probably from the luggage tags).
Our overall stay was outstanding, unfortunately our friends from Australia, who we had recommended the Bay Shore to, had a dreadful experience. They ended up being charged not once for their stay, not twice, but three times (almost $3,000 in total).
It took them several tries to get anyone from the hotel to acknowledge that there was even a problem. Finally after two days of long distance calls back to the hotel and a lot of anxiety, Amy from the Accounts department finally got involved and tried to help, but the damage was done in that the charges had gone through on the travel card and credit card requiring several calls back to Australia by our Friends to try to have the charges removed.
So bottom line, it was good / bad stay depending on whose point of view you use.

I stayed at the hotel twice within a week and had different experiences. Arrived on 7/28/13 was able to check in at 1530 with no problems for 2 rooms. Rooms were clean and service was great. 8/5/13 room was not ready until 6 pm. Stated they had a late check out. Was diffiucult as i was traveling with young children and had been at the hotel since that morning. After checking in I took the kids swimming and the pool area was a disaster. Dirty towels no clean ones to be found and old empty drinks laying next to the pool and on the tables surrounding the pool. Not what I expect out of a 4 star hotel. Not overly impressed with my second stay but would give the hotel another chance.

The entire staff at the Westin Bayshore was outstanding and provided the utmost extraordinary service from every department. The hotel restaurant Seawall Bar and Grill food has the most delicious seafood chowder and great service. At times we had up to 15 people from our group ordering drinks and food at different times and the wait service was friendly and prompt. Especially Erin, she was so accommodating with our group and provided us A+ service. The tower rooms have the most beautiful view of the harbour but from what i heard most rooms have a nice view of the pool, mountians, city streets, etc. When I return to Vancouver for pleasure, I know I will stay again at the Westin!

The hotel shows high comfort and has nicely furnished, modern rooms. It is located directly at the shore and offers a great view over the Burrard Inlet. The staff has been continously friendly and attentive.

I booked 7 rooms for myself and guest with specific needs. When the front desk staff and manager found out that things were not quit right they all worked as a team to get it right. I was very happy with how they worked together as a team. I was very happy. I spent some time at the front desk so my guest wouldn't have too, but It gave me the opportunity to see how the staff moved with professionalism and confident. The very first person I talked to at the desk said the rooms are not guaranteed, but that was the only time I heard that. When I came back to the desk everyone else that I talked to worked to get it right. I booked this stay with SPG call center. Thanks for a great stay,

I have basically three issues with this hotel.
!) The carpeting in the hallways is very grubby.
2) No free wi fi in the rooms.
3) For the price, it just is generally a little bit short- one would expect a little bit higher quality.

We have stayed several times at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver BC over the years... Actually, Michael Mazon has been staying there since he was a young boy with his family and then throughout the years.. We drive up from Seattle so we always look forward to a fun, relaxing and enjoyable experience at this Resort and Spa.
However, this particular stay last Saturday unfortunately, was far from being restful and relaxing. There was some kind of bike event where groups rode around the path hooting & hollering and playing loud boom box music late into the night and lasting through the early morning. Finally, at 12-midnight, we thought they were finally finished but that wasn't the case. We were continuously woken up numerous times until 3a in the morning. We were exhausted the next day.
We feel that we should have been advised of this at least during the time we checked in around 5p or even notified later by the front desk. We would have liked to have stayed a higher floor in the tower or somewhere far from the bike path. We would have asked to change rooms even at midnight but we kept thinking it was almost over. By the time 1a, 2a and 3a rolled around, we hardly felt like requesting a room change. We talked to the front desk and front desk manager the next morning about this and all they could say was that they weren't aware of this event. We feel that with this location being surrounded by a major path and marina, they should be aware of local events, especially ones that will be loud and last throughout the evening and into the early morning hours. They comp'd our parking but that does not begin to make us feel better after loosing a night's sleep in a resort that is meant to be peaceful. This too was disappointing. On top of that, we paid the highest we've ever paid so we did not leave feeling good about our stay. After all the times we've stayed at the Westin Bayshore, we were really disappointed to have had this horrible experience.
