I visited this hotel weekend of December 2-4th for the Rock n' Roll marathon. I booked my room in October on the WESTIN website. Upon arrival, I was told I do not have a reservation and the front desk staff insinuated I booked through a third party such as Expedia. Not until I showed my email confirmation was she willing to help me re-book the room. I was treated like a problem and not told about the happy hour and amenities like other guests around me. I was simply given my room key and told "sorry." I called room service for a dog bowl and was told "we're out" and when I asked if they had another option and was told "no" and simply hung up. I've been here a few times and I may try somehwere else the next time I'm on the strip which is unfortunate. I emailed westin las vegas with my issue and still have not heard a response.

We have stayed at a lot of Westin Hotels and this one did not meet the standards of the Westin name, The rooms were very small, especially for two people. The restaurant on site was terrible and so was the service at the restaurant. We ordered in-room svc and it was really bad as well. The rest of the staff was wonderful as it should be. They need to get a better chef and help in the restaurant and remodel those rooms.

This was my fourth or fifth stay at this hotel. Because I do not enjoy Las Vegas and only come for business, I choose this Westin due to it's small size, very small casino only open limited hours, pleasant public areas, adequate and pleasant enough rooms with everything I need and of course, the heavenly bed.
The air conditioning did not work upon arrival but two engineers were sent very quickly to fix the problem which they did. Both were very nice as was the rest of the hotel staff encountered.
I do appreciate the non-glitzy, low key aspect of this well priced hotel centrally located just off the strip convenient to my trade show and the large hotels where I am forced to go to enjoy a good dinner.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to those on business who wish they were not in Las Vegas.

I stayed at the Westin Las Vegas Hotel for two nights, and found the hotel comfortable and good value. The room and facilities were exactly as I'd expected, nothing more, nothing less, and represented good value for money. The staff were polite and efficient throughout, with the staff in the gift shop and coffee shop particularly warm and friendly. The hotel is a five to ten minute walk from the strip, and about a five minute walk from the monorail.

Had stayed at this property years ago and was very disappointed....This trip, it was really great.....The staff went out of their way to insure we had a good stay and that our every request was met....The restaurant was amazingly good for a coffee shop type of facility and the 24 hour Starbucks added to the convenience of the property.
While not on the strip, it's on a short walk to almost anywhere...
We will be back!

WELL, IT'S BEEN 6 MONTHS. I HAVE COOLED OFF, BUT FEEL THE NEED TO STILL EXPRESS THIS TO OTHERS. MY SPOUSE IS IN A WHEELCHAIR. OUR HANDICAP ROOM WAS LOCATED AT THE COMPLETE END OF A LONG HALL (CARPETED AND VERY EXHAUSTING TO WHEEL ACROSS). THEN THE ROOM, ALTHOUGH BEAUTIFUL HAS A LARGE CHAIR ON ONE SIDE OF THE BED IN FRONT OF THE WINDOW (HOW IS HE TO CLOSE?) THE WORST...THE FLAT TILE BATHROOM HAD 100% OF THE WATER FLOWING OUT INTO THE BATHROOM. WE ASKED HOSEKEEPING FOR A SQUEEGIE MOP, 4 LARGE TOWELS EVERY DAY AFTER SHOWERING. I GAVE UP AND JUST USED THE MIRROR IN THE OTHER ROOM. WE ROLLED TOWELS UP AND PLACED ACROSS THE FLOOR THE NEXT DAY (DIDN'T REALLY HELP) THE WATER STAYED ON THE FLOOR UNTIL AFTER MAD SERVICE EVERY DAY. THIS NEEDS FIXED. NO ACCOMODATIONS/PRICE REDUCTIONS/ OR COUPONS FOR THE NEXT VISIT WERE OFFERED. WE PAID $100 A NIGHT.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. I was disappointed in the added fees for business services like internet use that many hotels provide for free. The hotel touts its business center where visitors can print, make copies, etc. I went down to print my flight borading pass and was told it was $1.50 to print one page and $0.50 per minute to use the computer. I was so irritated I just printed the pass at the airport.

I wonder what a regular room looks like if what I stayed in was an upgrade. The room decor was OK, but nothing to write home about. The location was poor, and a long walk away from the center of the action. Far enough away from the strip that I waited for 10 minutes for a cab to pick me up at the hotel when needed. The casino area is tiny, with no real action. However, the breakfast buffet was good, but not enough to make me come back again.

I can't say that we were pleased with our visit. We stayed two nights. On the second day our room was never cleaned. We arrived back after midnight and it still had not been cleaned. We were tired and just wanted to go to bed so it made no sense to call down and ask to get it cleaned. Don't expect a good nights sleep. After getting to bed early in the morning, we were awaken before 7am by cleaning staff yelling down the hallway.

Had a one night stay at the hotel. Location is not on the strip, but very close proximity, which for me, is very nice. What impressed me most, was the staff in the lobby made themselves readily available to assist guests. Very attentive! Also, Sean had excellent service at the front desk. Very courteous and great SPG recognition. I feel that the hotel works very well as a team to provide excellent customer service.

This is an aging property and it shows in the furnishings and appointments. Reminds me of 1970's 1-2 star motel. Needs a complete remodel or the need to drop the Westin name. Had to change rooms after two roaches ran across my desk in the morning. I spend 100 nights a year in hotels and have never seen than happen.

We loved your property, BUT! the one very important thing we did not like and found very disappointing was it seems as though your walls in your rooms are far too thin...
We could hear everything our neighbors were doing in their rooms and I am sure they could hear us as well. When a person in the next room would sneeze you could hear it as if it were someone in our own room??
This is unexceptionable for a property like yours.

The cook at the Suede restaurant was extremely rude when asked if additional food items would be replenished in the breakfast buffet.
My waiter asked if he will bring out additional items for those of us that have arrived a few minutes before closing.
The cooks responses was, "we are closed in two minutes". He shouted this statement multiple times in an extremely rude tone so that guest in the restaurant would hear his response.
A simple "no" to the question would have been acceptable.
It appeared as though the cook was more interested in shutting the buffet down immediately at closing time.
I will ask to view the quantity of food in the buffet first prior to choosing to dine at the Suede restaurant in the future. This way I will know in advance if it is worth it.
As a Platinum level member, this was a disappointing experience at a Starwood preferred guest hotel.

I like this hotel for business in Vegas. It's close to everything but the casino is small and it's a step away from the craziness from the Strip.
Albert at the SPG preferred check in desk was very friendly and helpful. There was an error with my reservation and he was very courteous and took care of it for me. I appreciated his help.

I recently stayed here last minute because of a mix up at another hotel. I was not expecting such old rooms!! The bed was great but the rest of the room needs some cheering up. The shelf in the shower was rusting and the fixtures were old. I was surprised that the hotel was just 10 years old. Returning to the area again next month and really trying to avoid this hotel again. Not what I expected of a Westin hotel by Starwood.

My wife stopped by the concierge to ask about availability of Cirque du Soleil tickets. The man never said one word, but just shook his head. On the other hand, our waiter at breakfast... Carlos? ... was a standout.
The site is about a block too far from the strip with a seedy block right next door. Street people were camped out just off the property smoking weed though not threatened, it did not feel safe The pool was small and crowded. Parking was accessible and free.
Mostly, this is not to usual Westin standards. Despite being platinum level with Starwood, we willl likely stay elsewhere next time in Vegas.

We recently stayed at you Hotel. The staff were great, TJ from concierge was great he booked us a trip to the Grand Canyon by Helicopter it was great, also booked us tickets to see a show.. We enjoyed staying at your Hotel and would come back again, as it was close to everything.

When i showed up the computer system was down. No rooms available at 12pm and received call close to 4pm for room. As a platinum member, after sitting around for 4 hours, i was put in the closest room to elevator, and told I was upgraded. The guy at the front desk marginalized being platinum, mentioning that most all of there guests are high status, so basically just get in line. Overall not a pleasant experience.

This is a nice property very close to the strip. However during our stay, the staff was not pleasant and upon checkout the staff was downright rude and condescending. Also, watch out for additional fees on your bill hidden as taxes. According to front desk staff these fees are for such luxuries as coffee in your room and bottled water, as well as for the fitness center and spa (whether you use them or not).

Upon arrival at 1730 Friday Night there were a total of 3 employees working check-in AND no computer system. The employee was very nice, took information, provided courtesy cards to spa so we could get ready for an event. notified by email a little after 1930 that our room was available. Upon check out on Sunday morning we found 2 employees working the desk, computers still DOWN, mANAGEMENT WORTHLESS.

I have stayed at this hotel 5-8 different times. This trip the computers were down the entire day and into the morning. As such, all food/drink purchases had to be cash/credit card. (No starpoints.) Additionally, I found the staff to be less than enthusiastic.
I havse since faxed the hotel twice requesting credit for my stay and a COPY OF THE RECEIPT! No reply.
Bottom line: not up to Westin standards.

I've been traveling around and stayed a number of starwood hotels; however, this Westing hotel was not my best experience among the starwood brand hotels, given the fact that the hotel should compete with other glamorous hotels in Las Vegas.
Parking lot was very small and hard to find a spot. Room needs to be updated: i.e. there is no card insert slot when you enter the room so that you have to look for the switch to turn the light on the room.
It was my bad luck to get the room on my visit, but the bathroom sink pipe had a problem and black dust was all over the sink when I checked. Therefore, my family could not fresh up after long journey from Grand Canyon, but had to go out for dinner while hotel fix the problem. Although they provided a quick service (by the way, Staffs were very frienly) and complementary hotel credit. my family could not enjoy the hotle as much as we would have

After my last stay, I was reluctant to come back. But because I am loyal to the SPG brands, particularly Westins, I thought I would give it another try. I'm glad that I did.
The new SPG VIP desk is a great addition, and the Platinum benefits are excellent (bonus points plus complimentary breakfast, just like the non-US properties). And, since most of the "resort fee" covers things that SPG Platinums get for free, they waive the $20/day resort fee for Platinum members. (Almost all hotels in Vegas have a resort fee for local calls, internet, parking, etc.)
The breakfast at Suede is very nice and it runs until 11am... much later than the typical Westin comp breakfast.
The free happy hour is nice. Food isn't incredible, but there are some nice snacks, and it will keep you content until dinner.
I wish they had more of a casino, but the few tables are staffed by very nice and friendly dealers.

Jaxier at check out was horrible. This is our third stay and each time I wonder why we come back. We return because of SPG. This hotel is beat up and their staff disappoints us every time. It's simply the worst Westin we've ever stayed in. We have left poor comments each time we have stayed and still see no improvement. I hope this helps someone avoid a lousy experience at this Westin.

Hotel could use some updating, carpet worn and stained. Not what you normally get from a Starwood Hotel. The bathroom toliet seat was dirty upon arrival. Housekeeper Manager had engineer change. However this is something that should never happen in a hotel with such a impeccable reputation such as a Westin. I would stay again because I enjoy these properties and normally have no problems.

I booked a Friday night at the Westin hoping for a nice evening. When we tried to check in at 2:30pm we were told our room was not ready yet and it would be about 1 hour. We went and had a couple of drinks while waiting. We then went back to check in again after the allotted hour and were told our room was still not ready and that it might not be until 6pm! The desk clerk said that it was because we had booked with a third party and we would be the last people to receive a room. The clerk stated that check in was not until 4pm even though the website says 3pm. They did not offer us anything as compensation for not having our room ready, just rudely told us it was not ready. When we went back at 4:50pm our room was finally ready. We were told at that time they would waive the facility fee since we did not have time to use any of the facility. However the next morning we got a bill for the facility fee.

Reception staff was prompt, courteous, and very helpful.
Room was clean and very comfortable beds.
One negative experience was Saturday morning (11/10/2012) breakfast at Suede Restaurant. I was promptly seated. My utensils were never washed and full of food. I did not realize this until I picked up the utensils and had my hands dirty with food. I left the restaurant and eat elsewhere.

Overall I liked this hotel, it's convenient to the strip, and very comfortable - love the Heavenly beds.
However, my experience was not so great. I arrived late in the evening and was tired and ready for bed. As I got to my room I saw the bathroom was flooded with water, later learning earlier in the week there was a pipe explosion that was not dealt with in the best way.

It took 4 hours to get in to a room. Reservation staff was not helpful at all. Acted like I was a bother. Never offered the pool or spa to guests while I waited. Said they would call me and let me know when I could get a room - never did. I noticed others were getting keys so I went to the desk and had to asked if I could get a room. Same story from others at my meeting.
