Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel in downtown Napa has to be one of the best hidden secrets in the country We could not have been treated any better by your staff! We dealt with two people who talked to us like we had known them for a long time. Very friendly and informative. We could tell they have been trained extremely well , professionally. The suite we had was the best ever , I will definitely recommend the Westin to others . Thanks so much for making our stay with you outstanding. May 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful stay My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and we had a wonderful weekend. The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was amazing as well. Michael (front desk), Shawn (valet), and Jesus (room service) were all very friendly and made our visit to Napa even better by recommending local spots to visit. Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Property We stayed with our daughter (10 yrs old) and her best friend (same age) over the weekend. The hotel is a short drive from San Francisco and we just wanted to enjoy the sun, the girls - the swimming pool and my husband and I visited some wineries and restaurants in Yountville. The hotel was exceptional. We will definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family. June 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Service charge policy The policy of adding a service charge to every bill, irrespective of whether the customer agrees with the adequacy of the delivered service or not has a negative effect...it means that *some* staff don't make the effort, such as the humourless surly waiter in La Toque (called Tom), while other staff were delightful and one would happliy give them more than the mandatory service charge. Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Napa Getaway We have been platinum members for many years now and this is by far one of our most favorite places to visit and the only place we stay when traveling to Napa. We live in the bay area so are able to visit Napa 3-4 times a year, yes we are very spoiled! The beds are always amazing, the rooms are beautiful, clean, up to date. Rated 3 out of 5 by Close to downtown I did like the location of this hotel and close to downtown. However there is a bunch of construction around the property which made sleeping in early morning a challenge along with the view from the room was completely blocked. Service at the pool was poor and most of the time didnt have towels. Took a really long time for someone to order drinks from as well. July 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotel is beautiful and staff is amazing Front desk staff was very kind...upgraded our room since it we were on our way to Tahoe to get married. It was just one of those things where they didn't have to do it...we didn't expect it...but it made it very memorable! The valet guys even offered to give us pointers on what to see and where all the good local spots were. We are now hooked on Starwood! Thanks again! Jeff + Courney March 30, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Upgrades Staff is very welcoming- Lobby and pool area are very comfortable- be careful when you are offered an upgrade. We had a deluxe room booked with a high floor. Our upgrade was in part of the hotel that appeared to be an annex of the hotel for handicap access on the first floor and little privacy if you wanted the curtains open. It did not make you feel like you were part of the hotel. September 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stay from start to check-out!!! We selected Napa and this hotel as our first stop of our two week trip to Napa/Sonoma to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. From our arrival at the front doors, to the time we checked out, the entire staff was wonderful. David one of the valet was super great with providing wonderful suggestions and tips on things to do, restaruants and place to pick up some groceries. As we were there for a week we asked for a room with a refrigator and the very next day we received a room upgrade with a kitchenette. All the staff were super great from the valets that were fast, courteous to housekeeping that provided everything needed during our stay. The hotel was well kept, modern and updated. The rooms were clean, and the furniture and decor were pristine. We enjoyed the wine and hors d'ouerves served by local wineries. Dinner we had one night at the on-site hotel was very good and the wait staff we terrific. April 25, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has very friendly staff My nephew Derwin and his wife Tanya gave us a gift certificate for a one night stay for our 50th wedding anniversary. When we checked in, the front desk clerk told us our room was upgraded. Lo and behold, they gave us a suite complete with kitchenette and a cold bottle of champagne was waiting for us! The view from our room was calming and the beddings were very clean and soothing! December 18, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Westin Napa Hotel is good. The restaurant is good not great as advertised. Also, small portions, expensive and a mandatory 18% gratuity added for all restaurant and bar services. Don't like that choice being made for me. The Oxbow market is a short walk down the street. We will go there for breakfast, lunch or dinner next time. Great choices to eat there and save the forced 18% service charge. February 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location Great location to the new revitalized Downtown Napa Waterfront. Within walking distance to shopping and excellent restuarants. We had the 2B/2B corner suite and it was great for 2 couples sharing the unit. If afforded privacy yet had common areas for enjoying a glass of wine and conversation. Also, the deck overlooking the river was a real plus. Very tranquil and wonderful setting. February 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by We will stay here again The hotel and staff are wonderful. Just one complaint, the sheets are itchy. The bed is cozy and the very comfortable, the sheets are crisp but not soft. My husband and I both were slightly uncomfortable all night. Had we stayed more than the one night we would have made the housekeeping staff aware of this. Otherwise, wonderful hotel and we will stay again next trip to Napa. February 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lovely property, bad dates.. I was looking for a weekend getaway from another long term stay property in Nor Cal. The Westin is a lovely property in the historic part of old Napa. The location is a great starting point for those looking for a more corporate retreat rather than the "Inn" or "B and B" type of lodging in the valley. I used points for my stay and unfortunately, as the property was over-sold was given a room that was entirely way too small for me. I decided to stay at another property as it was just not comfortable. Overall I think this property has VERY large rooms, so do not base your decisions solely on my experience. Generally as a Platinum member I am spoiled and receive a nice upgraded room even when using points. In any case, what should be commended here is the AWESOME staff..to the valets, the front desk, and the management team. Everyone is service oriented and they authentically want to go out of their way for you. July 13, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs some Improvements Beautiful hotel located in a great spot in downtown Napa. A few short comings dampened our complete enjoyment. On our first day we ate the 'Express' Lunch at the Bank Cafe. Service was anything but Express. Later in the week trying to grab and pay for self service coffee at the Bank Cafe also was anything but Express. Trying to find someone to pay was a challenge and the way it was laid out is simply very difficult. Overall food was good at Bank just not Express as advertised and we all found the staff there missing on service. Only other negative comment is the size of the fitness room given the size of the hotel - it is tiny and every morning was packed. Front desk was also a bit slow on check-in. Only one person working the desk and also working the conceirge desk meant a long check-in. Downstairs needs to improve their customer service and if the fitness center was bigger this would be an outstanding hotel. December 7, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very disappointing I have stayed at Westin properties throughout the world and this was one of the most disappointing hotels that I can remember. The hotel and staff failed to get many things right in terms of responsiveness to service requests, room preparation, platinum member recognition, etc. While the hotel was decent, it certainly did not meet expectations. Rated 4 out of 5 by Location is great. Valet is a nightmare. Stay clear of the valet, every time we did we waited well over 20 minutes to retrieve our vehicle even when it wasn't that busy. Then the valet boys are waiting for a tip. I learned to park across the street for free a 10 second walk and had my car much easier than the valet made it. The location of the hotel in napa is great and the room was nice. Would stay here again. December 29, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Why no mention of "shower only"? We were very disappointed when we got to our room and found it only had a shower with no bathtub. This would not happen if our reservation confirmation had shown that. Our confirmation shows "heavenly bed and bath" which led us to believe there would be a tub. We feel very strongly that you should have the words "shower only" on every confirmation for your standard rooms. July 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by How do you get a nicer room? This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel, both times on a sold out weekend. Even though we made reservations months in advance, both stays were in tiny rooms. As a gold member, I am often upgraded to a nicer room and this was not possible either time. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff very nice but we were in very small rooms, how do you avoid this next time? June 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful Wonderful experience! La Toque was amazing. Andrew with the bell desk is the best. After bringing our luggage to the room he went and filled our ice bucket. Gloria at the spa is wonderful and her facials are great. The only bad part of the stay was the service at the bar was slow non attentive and left a little to be desired. Other then the bar experience it was perfect. October 12, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor front desk service Arrived at the hotel at 1 AM. No one greeted us to valet the car so had to self park the car on the street. Upon check-in the front desk did not mention the car valet service , nor the wi fi in the room. Used the gym the next morning and it was awful. Very small with too many guests on top of each other in the gym. Upon check out I asked why I was charged an amenity fee of $20 per room (had two rooms). Front desk said it was for free valet parking, free wi fi in the room and for the gym facility. I informed the front desk that valet service was not available when we checked in, no one told us about the wi fi or the $20 amenity fee. After providing feedback about the small gym the front desk explained it is a temporary facility while the hotel is renovating the main gym. In conclusion I was charged $40 for amenities I did not use or for a gym that was awful for the size of the hotel and the many guests using the gym. December 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mechanical issues Woke up Friday morning to no cold water. Water from the cold as well as the hot faucets were HOT HOT HOT. Unable to shower due to extreme hot water. Filled the basin with water to let it cool before I could wash my face. NO SHOWER TODAY !!!!! Not what I expect at a 4 star hotel. August 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous Vacation Experience New. Beautiful. Laid out very nice. Great location for Napa Valley, staff could not provide a comp shuttle to dinner so they called a cab and paid for it along with tip to driver - we didn't have to do anything but enjoy ourselves. P.S. if you enjoy a day in Napa or Sonoma, take advantage of the comp shuttle for dinner - you could avoid a meeting with CHIPs in town!! May 3, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 housekeeping leaves MUCH to be desired the location was ok, room was nice, food was good...but housekeeping was terrible. spent three days and had our room cleaned only once....even though we made multiple calls asking for assistance. eventually had to roam the halls looking for a cart to get towels. Not what we expected when we embarked on a family christmas with our son who just returned form the army. January 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Room Srevice C- Love everything about this hotel. but last stay we ordered two room service specials chicken salad sandwich. Food arrived, got call from front desk chef changed menu to fish poor boy-not even close. We were offered another meal but had waited 45 minutes already. Someone should have called from resturant when they new order was wrong or offered to remove from bill March 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely perfect property. The Westin Verasa was a wonderful surprise for our couples trip to wine country. The facilities are first class and the staf has obviously been well-trained. As a guest, I felt the staff "left us alone" at all the right times and "attended to our needs" right on schedule. I love the happy hour, the massages, the fitness room, the fire pit and the pool area. Bravo! April 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by 1 Night at Westin Napa I have stayed at this hotel once before and that stay was marred by inconsistent staff service. Room was one bedroom/two bath with kitchen. This time the staff was helpful and efficient. My only two notes are: 1. Wait at front desk was 10+ minutes to check in. 2. Shower was moldy and needed new calking in MBR bath. Rated 2 out of 5 by Avoid if there's a wedding... I spent almost 400 dollars for one Saturday night in this hotel, (almost impossible to get a night with points). Bottom line: I would not recommend staying here if there is a wedding or event happening. No Platinum upgrade. Odd room with a half kitchen opening onto a courtyard, where, a disco and DJ played until 11pm, despite being told that the music would be over at 10pm. Then the associated rowdiness of the crowd and cleanup crew. This was the message sent to me upon departure: "We hope your visit left you feeling well rested, well nourished and well cared for. We look forward to seeing you again the next time you're in Napa." Unfortunately it didn't and they won't. Front desk personnel didn't seem to really care when this was mentioned, (by me and other guests checking out at the same time). Highlight of the trip was the very helpful bellman/valet David who could not have done more to help us out. Won't be back. October 21, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by This hotel is an attractive location The hotel is pretty, clean but just a few things to work on: The pool is way too small and crowded, the doors going out to balcony are old and the locks are difficult to operate. It is nice to have a balcony (porch) but the wall is too high and you can't see past it so it is annoying and didn't use it much. August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Napa and NASCAR The Westin in Napa is one of our favorite resorts. This year again we did Napa wine tasting, golf and NASCAR. It is a great location for all these events and within walking distance to town. The two bedroom suites are large and very comfortable for two couples to share. They do need to put larger coffee pots for four people to share. A wonderful time yet again. June 30, 2013
