Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice hotel with no hot water and slow restaurant service The hotel is nice and the front desk staff are friendly. However, on several occasions, I had to take a cold shower as there was no hot water. In addition, the lobby restaurant service is extremely slow. The food was good but I won't dine there again. However, the cleaning people barely cleaned the rooms and often did not refill items, or replace items, such as glasses, coffee, etc. Also, the shower water was not very hot, and even went cold on me once for about a minute. Rated 3 out of 5 by Average Platinum Guest and never get upgraded at this hotel. The best they can do is 1313! Are you kidding me. Hallways are very worn. Carpet is coming up and it feels like I'm in a Motel 6. The staff at the restaurant for breakfast is great. High marks for them. August 22, 2013

And when you leave the room, the AC turns off. Very HOT and stuffy. Also, too many groups. It's like a convention in the lobby. September 8, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Staff not friendly Upon my early arrival I was told my room wasn't ready; which is fine, but Hugo @ the check-in desk repeated it like 30 times and told me that check-in time was @ 3pm. He eventually gave me a room but seemed extremely annoyed. Not good service July 31, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Elegant hotel near South Coast Plaza It is a very short walk across a pedestrian bridge to South Coast Plaza. The hotel is very nice, with good-sized rooms and good views. It has a very nice fitness center with a view of the pool. It is also near the new performing arts center. October 22, 2011

Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor planning Having a wedding reception with a very loud band going on until 11:00 is not very good planning - we could not sleep because the bass level was sooooooooo loud - even after they supposedly turned it down. A very poor finish to a good stay. September 26, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by My hotel stay was noisy at 10;30 pm the pool area was extremely noisy. Music was playing and I called at 10:00pm and they said they would tell them to turn it off but it took 30 minutes. In addition, the 9th floor was also noisy. It someone was having a party. January 10, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Late checkout too expensive! My husband was going to a meeting & I requested to checkout at 2pm so I could lay by the pool & have lunch. Unfortunately the 50% cost was not negotiable so I ended up going to South Coast Plaza and eating & drinking & shopping there. June 22, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Not well organized I was disappointed with the overall organization of the hotel. First, as a frequent SPG guest, my check-in time clearly stated 3pm. However, arriving to the hotel at 4:30pm, I was told that I would need to wait for my room - and that I would be receiving an "upgrade". I asked how long - and she said up to an hour (and they would call me when it was ready)! This was extremely disappointing for two reasons - first, I was with my 3 year old coming back from the beach; and second, I needed to meet some friends for an early dinner and needed time to get both myself and my 3-year old ready. After waiting about one hour (trying to entertain a 3-year old in the lobby), I approached to ask if my room was ready - and it was, they had simply failed to call me. During my one-hour wait, they held my luggage and told me it would be delivered to my room when my room was ready. Again, after arriving to my room, I had to take the initiative to ask for my luggage to be delivered.... Best of all - after the delay (past 5pm); my room was not an upgrade - standard two queen.
