Rated 3 out of 5 by Not the best - but that's unusual I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and found it to be wonderful. This stay was for a conference and I was put in the room next to the workout room - without being told that's where it would be. I had to listen to weights being dropped at early and late hours when I was hoping to sleep. Also, the grout on the sink was hanging lose - not nice. May 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by HOTEL IS USUALLY A GREAT PLACE WE HAVE BEEN STAYING AT THIS HOTEL FREQUENTLY OVER THE PAST 18 MONTHS. IT IS USUALLY A FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY. I WAS DISAPPOINTED WHEN I WENT TO SHOWER AND THERE WAS NO HOT WATER, WHEN I SAID SOMETHING TO THE FRONT DESK THEY TOLD ME TO LET THE WATER RUN(THE WATER ONLY BECAME COLDER THE LONGER IT RAN) JUST WANTED SOME ONE TO KNOW. ALSO NO ROBE WAS IN OUR ROOM. August 27, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel is very nice and convenient I stay at this hotel 10-14 days a month. The service has been great and the hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. Great fitness facility. The WIFI is not so good and wireless cards do not work. This is a major set back if you need to work. Disappointed that I was not able to obtain a room at the last minute considering the amount of stays I do at this hotel. October 28, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Frequent Stayer... I LOVE the Westin Northwest Itasca! We have family that live in Wood Dale and The Westin is in a perfect location for both of us. Not far from Schaumburg with great restaurants and shopping. Always greeted with a smile, the room is always clean. No matter how busy the hotel is with events, service is never compromised. Look forward to staying there again! June 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Always Top Notch The Westin Chicago Northwest has been my home away from home for the better part of four years now. The property and staff have never failed to make it feel that way. There is no area of the hotel that the staff has not exceeded expectations. Being on the road every week is hard. Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy Thanksgiving It wasn't our plan to not be home for Thanksgiving. But the Westin Northwest helped make it a special one anyway. Our room was terrific, very clean and large. And my kids enjoyed the pool on two occasions. The location was also convenient to Schaumburg, which has a ton of stores and restaurants. Thanks so much for being part of a memorable Thanksgiving. Rated 4 out of 5 by Wonderful place to stay! Very clean rooms with all we needed. Comfortable beds. Very good food and excellent food service. Wish in-room cooler was cooler. Never tried pool or hottub, however friends went to hottub and said it was too cool to get in unfortunately. Otherwise, everything wonderful. Great conference rooms. There were 650 women, so everything needed to run smoothly April 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A new Westin convert I have been utilizing the loyalty programs of two large hotel chains for many years and have remained at silver or gold with them. Despite this level of loyalty, I invariably find myself wanting a little better treatment at their properties. Enter Westin Itasca. From the moment of check-in to the final steps out of the door on our way home, the staff treated us like VIPs. Every need was met or exceeded. A bit of confusion on my part when booking that resulted in not having exactly the amenities we expected was met with an immediate resolution (note, as I said the problem was my own fault). Everyone we encountered was at attentive and professional. If there was any area that was less that perfect, it was the breakfast buffet. While adequate, it did not feel like a good value. All that said, I will be building points with a new brand now. If a 'standard' guest is treated this well, I can't wait to see how a frequent guest is treated. June 20, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Noisy room We have stayed at this hotel many times. For some reason, the room we stayed this time was very noisy. A lot of machine noise throughout the night. The waiter we had at the restaurant didn't seemed to care much. While the hotel carries all the typical westin comfort such as heavenly bedding etc, some details may need to be worked out. Rated 3 out of 5 by a few improvement could be made the fitness center / pool was under construction and we were not able to use all the amenities. The in room network was chargeable (hardwire and wifi) and it was less then sufficient as I could not get enough bandwiidth (even hard wired) to run my VPN and get to my office files. Nice rooms though just wanted to share some frustrations with you... August 30, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Rooms The room was terrible. There was no air conditioning in my room. Room number 433. After spending all day doing wedding party stuff, the last thing i wanted to worry about was coming back to my room and it being warm. Guess what. It was. I am very unhappy with the Westin. i would like my money back for my room or I would like a comped room. November 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Business Travel Hotel Staff was very accomodating, room was comfortable, very clean, great bed, nice shower. All the things you expect from the Westin. Used the Athletic Club in the basement and it was perfect for staying fit while away. I did not try the breakfast so cannot comment on that. Used the free shuttle quite a few times, very convenient. Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs help Air Conditioning didn't work and they never fixed, room was always hot. Service not great, no newspapers on Saturday and Sunday. Took an hour to get a bellman on checkout. Day I wanted to go to Shula's, they had a banquet that closed the bar area and the restaurant was too busy for my business. That left just one place to eat which wasn't good October 5, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good business hotel This hotel offers large comfortable rooms, with really comfortable beds, and excellent bathroom facilities (Love the twin head shower)! Only downside is the design of the hotel which is an open plan lobby stretching up 12 floors with the bedrooms on balconies overlooking, means it can be noisy if events are taking place in the lobby area. Rated 3 out of 5 by the staff was great. The hotel lobby and facilities were nice and the employees were great but the inside of the room didn't impress me much. Was not what I expected. Not saying horrible but it could have been a little better. Ceiling peeling over the shower, room extremely cold, coffee but no cream, expensive room service prices. And bed not so heavenly. Looking forward to my next stay here which I think I will treat myself earlier this year. Rooms were clean, staff friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended, only wished they were closer to my home. The hotel was decorated beautiful for the holidays and well staffed. December 24, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good hotel but minimal platinum recognition We arrived early and maybe that is why we had no upgrade (though it also could have been the BIRTH YEAR PROMO that I used). Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. We ate at Shula's, the onsite restaurant. The food was excellent although the portion sizes were ludicrously large - almost everyone was taking a doggie bag home. August 19, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Average Stay The room was missing an informative booklet about the hotel. The pool was located on the bottom level. My kids were given towels in the pool area, but when they came out, ready to return to the room, they were asked to give the towels back. They had to freeze all the way back to our room. An informative booklet in the room could have explained the towel policy, and we could have brought our own. The drain in the shower was clogged. By the time my two kids each took a shower, the tub was darn near overflowing. There were people running up and down the hallway at 12:00 am, waking my kids. The free breakfast selections were very poor. Some cereal and juice. I have had a better, and hot selection at cheaper hotels. There was not even any fruit offered. The hot water for tea was not a designated water urn, resulting in my green tea tasting like old coffee. Also, the Starbucks in the hotel was out of many items leaving me to ask myself, "why are they even here"? October 10, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Better Training Needed For the past three years we have stayed at this hotel for an event. I have a severe feather allergy. It is listed on my SPG info and I always call the hotel a day before to remind them that I must have a feather free room. At check in I confirm this and EACH year the room has not been prepared. Why can't they get this right???? June 10, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Do not disturb I stay at this hotel at least once a year. Almost everytime I have an issue. This time it was with house keeping. One morning while my son and I were getting ready house keeping comes in with out knocking on the door. The next morning I put the do not disturb sign on the door and once again house keeping tries to enter again. June 29, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great Party Hotel if you don't need sleep Between the dogs barking and the people yelling across the balcony at each other into the late night, would not recommend staying unless you want to party all night. Not good for babies that need to sleep. No information in rooms about anything and where to even find information. Cleaning lady was wonderful and very helpful. June 24, 2013

The only problem I had with the room was the lighting, there wasn't enough (none by the full length mirror) and the switches on the lamps were random. The wall switch should turn on more lights when you walk in. The chair table didn't match decor at all, looked like it was bought from IKEA? January 14, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by RUDE BARTENDING We were on vacation and wanted to have some refreshments at the atrium bar. The bartending staff was not friendly and seem inconvenienced despite the fact that our bar bill was over $80.00. The drinks themselves were decent but there was not a lot of above and beyond customer service as I would expect a Westin hotel to have. August 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Welcome travel break We were traveling to South Bend and try to use this hotel as our rest stop for the night. It is an easy exit from the highway and always a quick check-in. Our upgraded room was clean and comfortable. We arrived at midnight and did not use any of the other facilities. This hotel has to be the best value in the Chicago area. May 22, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Business Traveler Perfection! Beautiiful interior...great food at the bar and at breakfast. Shula's terrific. Fitness center has a gorgeous sunrise view of the city as is clean with plenty of equipment. Rooms are nicely appointed, clean, and roomy. Staff greated me by name and saw to my every need. Rated 3 out of 5 by don't bother if you want to use facilities staff was friendly and very accommodating, room was clean and comfy. Hallways were dirty and never vacuumed. Outside our friends room there was smashed crackers on the carpet and stayed there from our arrival on friday til departure on sunday. The pool is a joke as well as the pool staff. Went to use hot tub saturday and they had so many chemicals it burned our eyes, nose and throats. Staff did nothing until we called the front desk. Took all afternoon for them to clear up that mistake. Pool was filthy and had scum floating on top of the entire pool. Went to use the hot tub that evening at 8:15-Jets weren't working so I asked the staff if there was a button to push-was told it was broken. Funny thing we finally found the button and pushed it-low and behold the jets started perfectly fine. staff went on to tell us at 8:20 we needed to get out of hot tub as it was set to be cleaned via auto timer (the hours at the pool are until 9:00 p.m.-why would they set a timer prior to closing?-Would never go back again for a relaxing weekend with friends as unable to use the pool/hot tub. Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful Hotel This hotel was beautiful! The only hard part was relying on elevators. There are four, but when our large group took over the hotel, it got congested around the elevator bank. Other than that, the facilities are beautiful, the atrium is grand, and the rooms are so comfortable! The food and the wait staff are impressive! March 11, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Nice facility, poor management. The physical facility is very nice and the desk staff were accommodating. The breakfast area was atrocious. Low quality food was offered at unreasonable prices. The sleeping rooms were stuffy and uncomfortable, as the air conditioning system had been turned off. Hot water in the lavatory in the mornings was non existent. November 21, 2012
