For all the nights I stay at Starwwod Hotels (platinum) you get nothing from this hotel but a down graded room.(sold out of king beds???) I guess they don't care because their location is so good ..oh ya $16.00 ketel one Martinies..is this New York or Memphis?

Caveat: When I arrived, I was surprised to be upgraded to a "presidential suite." Wow. It knocked my socks off. Super-comfortable and luxurious. (I'm not normally a "Presidential Suite" kind of guy.)
Staff was also helpful and friendly.
Great stay overall!

I have traveled and stayed at Westin Resorts regularly, having wonderful experiences with raving reviews of rooms, accommodations and customer service. Unfortunately for this particular hotel, it's staff/management team simply do not measure up. I had a room reserved for over a month at the Westin Memphis Beale Street. Upon my arrival at 4:30pm, when check-in begins at 3pm, the front desk attendant informs us that a large group had a late check out, and our room was not yet ready, assuring that the room would be ready soon. So I waited in the lobby with 20+ other guests with the same issue. After 2 hours of waiting, complaints, being ignored by management and getting shooed from the front desk, our room became available. Not to mention I was supposed to be at an NBA game at 7pm, and I didn't get into my room until 6:30pm, 3 HOURS after check-in. This was UNACCEPTABLE customer service. And to add to the unfavorable situation, I have been trying to contact management for OVER 2 weeks to work out some sort of compensation for this discrepancy. I have called the desk, multiple managers and left numerous messages.
So in conclusion, the hotel itself is beautiful with lovely accommodations, but the staff were simply unwilling to address our issue and are evading any compensation. I would love to talk to someone that can address this issue, if anyone monitors these reviews.

I use to frequently stay at this facility. In the past 3 months I haven't been upgraded once nor received a thank you for being Platinum and have the Westin be my choice hotel in Memphis. I do receive the generic thank you email from the general manager.

Rooms are quite large and so nice to have a separate tub and glass shower! Housekeeping will clean your room no matter what time you leave, which is nice. (we are late sleepers).
Added feature - Starbucks is right next door just a few steps outside.

We will be back next year!!! Very friendly staff. Our room was spacious and loved, lived the big bathroom. Very clean! We enjoyed the restaurant "Bleu" and the Lounge.
We will recommend you to our group for next year : )

I am a frequent traveler and often stay at Starwood properties throughout the U.S. Like most of their Westin properties, this hotel is relatively new, well maintained and in a good location. However, my experience at this hotel was one of the worst that I have ever had. The rooms were not clean and the staff was often unhelpful. When I checked into the first room, there was a towel hanging on the rack with makeup stains on it. Clearly, it had not been changed. I asked for anther room and was given a comparable room on another floor. I didn't inspect the bed before going to sleep. When I woke up the following morning I found a strange sock in the bed which leaves me to believe that the sheets were never changed. I mentioned this to the staff the following morning and they acted as if they could care less. In addition to the unclean rooms and the unhelpful front desk staff, I had breakfast at the onsite restaurant the following morning. The service was slow and the food was mediocre. There were no other customers in the restaurant and it still took nearly 30 minutes to get my food.

My stay at this hotel definitely puts all other hotels to shame. I enjoyed the staff and the environment in general. I will definitely be staying at this establishment again in the future.

This hotel is only steps away from the FedEx Forum, the Rock and Soul Museum and Beale Street.
The rooms are large and very clean. The staff is very attentive.
One word of caution, the drinks at the lobby bar are very pricey.

On the whole the visit was fine, but lack of attention to detail was annoying, silly things like the lack of bathroom products, no shower gel or shampoo.
Bar opening hours were limited.
However when open found Bar staff fun and engaging

We were very dissatisfied with our stay in the Westin. We were supposed to check in at 4 pm and when we arrived we were told the hotel was running behind and they could take our bags and call us when the room was ready. After an hour and a half of waiting we still have not heard anything. I went back up to the desk and they said there were 4 people ahead of us. We had planned on changing and then going to eat before the Grizzlies game. That didn’t happen. We went somewhere close by to eat then to the game. The game ended and we still did not receive a call. This was around 9-10 pm. We went back up to the desk and they finally gave us a room. We go up to our room and it’s a one bed room suite with a random rolling single bed in the middle of the den area. We had booked a two bedroom queen since there was 4 of us staying; therefore, one of us had to sleep on a pull out coach. We were not informed of this and no apologies were given. I have never been so dissatisfied with a hotel experience. I would not advise going to the Westin during a busy weekend.

Hotel is great but the bartender ripped me off. $56.00 FOR 2 DRINKS?? Kettle 1 & Jack Daniels. I've never had a more expensive drink anywhere! I don't care if they were doubles...they looked like singles. I'm not happy with that!

I have stayed at this hotel several times with a business group and learned the hard way that you don't want a room on the Beale Street side of the property. When booking this reservation we specifically requested a room not on the Beale side. When I checked in (after waiting 10 minutes because they only had one clerk working) I was told the room was not on the Beale side. When I arrived at the room it of course was on the Beale side. My request to move was not accommodated as they said they were fully booked. I went to check out since they couldn't accommodate my request and I was told, only after asking, that I would nevertheless be charged for my room. The manager was arrogant and seemed to not care that he had a guest very unhappy and ready to walk out of his hotel. Particularly when you are spending $400 for a room I think you ought to get better service. The solution offered was earplugs and a "white noise" machine which turned out to be a box fan. Nothing else was offered, like a break on the rate, a voucher for a drink or anything. Additionally the valet service is ultra-slow and the coffee service in the room had not been restocked. All in all this place is poorly run and we won't be back to this hotel or any other Westin. There are at least two other hotels in downtown Memphis in the same category with MUCH better service. Next time we will be staying with them.

Could not have asked for better service from valet, front desk, restaurant, housekeeping and service express. Even engineering was friendly.

Being close to Beale St. is a plus, but what keeps me coming back is the Staff. They are helpful from the time you check in until the time you leave, and all this with a SMILE on their faces. :-)

Our group had three rooms and none of them every got comfortably cool. The staff overcharged us for parking and a water that was never touched. There was an ice machine but no coke machine on our floor.

Upon arrival there was some difficulty in finding the type of room we had requested. The delay was fairly minimal, but the manager on duty upgraded our stay to a Junior Suite for delay.

Checked in at 1:30 pm. Along with several dozen others, did not get a room until 6 pm. No communication from the staff and no offers for any compensation whatsoever. Will never stay at a Westin again.

We had a nice corner room on the 8th floor overlooking Beal Street and the FedEx forum. The room was comfortable and the service was great. Lots of fun things to do on Beal street.Cant wait to go back

We live in town but our choice of hotels when we do decide to stay downtown Memphis is Westin. Would recommend this to anyone. The beds are heavenly divine and the rooms have all the modern features.

Had troubles with only one operational elevator. Not good for a hotel this size. Long waits and people crammed in as a result.
Rooms were great. Bathroom excellent with separate shower and tub.

I always felt Wetstin's were top tier hotels but when you pay for steak and get hamburger it's very disappointing. No hand towels or wash cloths in the room. Look like it needed to be vacuumed .

room was poorly maintained. bathroom was in poor shape,broken shower,broken toilet seat and mold. shady staff member knocking on the door thinking it was vacant. overall very poor experience.
