Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable, very nice This is the second time I stay at this Westin property, both for conferences at the nearby convention center. The location is great for that and proximity to restaurants, and airport, the hotel is bright, beautiful, the staff is nice, the rooms are very comfortable. The bed is indeed heavenly, the in-room coffee maker with Starbucks coffee is a treat, the bathroom is well lit, and the "rain" shower is wonderful. Everything is super clean. The restaurants served yummy food. The gym is awesome. The price is on the high end. The experience matched it. March 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by confusion with "green" initiative The Westin did a fabulous job for the AAMVA conference in August. Food was great...staff was very friendly, attentive, and professional. Great job! I encourage you to look at how your encourage guests to forgo "washing sheets daily." We had to work hard to get the request reversed when we realized that our towels and room would not be serviced AT ALL if we picked...no sheets washed. I would love to save the water and don't mind the same sheets for 2-4 days. It took way too much work to get housekeeping to reverse our original request. We had to call two more days to make sure we were on the "clean room" list. I am guessing that this will continue to cause confusion as you host all the Dems in a few weeks. August 26, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Unclean + have to fight for SPG Gold Rights I am an SPG gold member and we had a 2 room suite at this hotel (Charlotte Westin). The room was in shambles. There was a pair of tweezers and a dirty sock left in the room. One of the shower doors was coming off the hinge and had a crack in the glass. Overall, just a mess. In addition, I had to call the service desk because they were not going to offer free wifi to Gold members. The person I reached was very nice and said that she would put down that I was very difficult because that is the only way she could give me wifi for free. When I stay at nearly any other hotel where I have status wifi is always free. If that is a new SPG policy throughout the system, I'll definitely be considering that when I make my reservations. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not SPG service that I expect WOW! What a disappointment. Friday night I called front desk to complain about a loud party down the hall. Called at 10:30 pm, midnight and 2:30 am. NO HELP. Told they were there for a wedding party. Saturday moved to new room with HUGE, fresh stain on carpet, not cleaned. NOT SPG quality and didn't get better. October 1, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs a change to meet modern needs. The hotel was clean and has a perfect downtown location. Where they need to improve is the little things like charging for Internet. It is a modern day must to be put on par with electricity. When a guest must pay for something that doesn't cost the hotel puts a bad taste in your mouth. Along with a none working refrigerator in the room, that when inquired about we were told staff could have one brought up for a few. Other hotel wave these charges for members, which we are, just a disappointed to be charged $120 more for our stay to have the use of some modern conveniences. February 19, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Wrongly charged I was extremely unhappy that they charged my credit card after a week without informaing me. While checking out I got a hotel folio which was in line with the true charges and the credit card was also charged the same amount. I just randomly happended to check my credit card account and relaized they charged me 900$ without any updated folio. So if i did not scrub thorugh my credit cart statement i would have never realized. I now wonder how many other times you have chared me after giving me a folio. I feel i need to check my starwood charges closely. also when i called to complain , teh account executive let me go on for 10 minutes only to tell me i need to contact accounting next day. really not the level of service i expected. extremely dissatisfied! Rated 3 out of 5 by Electrical problems Alerted the front desk to outlet, clock, and Internet problems. Problems were not corrected. Internet was the most expensive of any hotel I've ever stayed at and the signal in my room was so low that my iPhone 4s could not even connect. Nice lap pool though. June 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by comfort plus The room was spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. the only issue we had was during check in, we were not told the correct procedure for taking our car out of the self-parking area. The doorman spotted us leaving and saw we had turned our room cards in to the express checkout bin,. this card is needed to present at the ticketbooth so that we would not get charged for our already paid parking during check in. we were able to have another card made up and the issue was resolved. Rated 2 out of 5 by Verty disappointed! We have stayed at many Westins and this was the WORST as far as service from Staff that we have ever received. First the Valet Parking is a "Joke". Not enough staff to do valet and help with your luggage. We ended up doing everything ourselves. Second; the front desk staff was horrible. Not equipped for the number of guest staying at this hotel. Had to wait forever in line at front desk. Last; Upon leaving, didn't have any rolling carts for our luggage and we checked out at 6:00 a.m. What in the world happen to all the carts at this time of day!!! There was no help offered to us for our luggage. Just very disappointed in the service and will not EVER stay at his hotel again. For the price we paid, I expected more!! February 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good convention and meeting place We were happy with our stay at the Westin Charlotte this past weekend. We attended a trade convention and found the meeting areas spacious and allow good set up. As members of SPG , we were happy to be upgraded to a spacious suite at higher floor. There was always a waiting line at the front desk during our stay. Most of the time, i only see 1 or 2 working at the front desk. i use the room phone to call instead of waiting in line at the front desk. More help at he front desk may help. Our room has 2 good large flat screen TVs but overall i think it is time for a face lift on the carpet and furnishing. Overall personnel are very friendly and efficient. It is a good property at a good location so i don't mind to return. April 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by No words could explain... My boyfriend and I had the most relaxing weekend we ever had being at the hotel. I had the upmost customer service I felt like it was a home away from home. Everyone I met wanted to help me and cared about my questions and what I had going on. My boyfriend was very comfortable and we will make this hotel one of our must haves. We told our friends and family about staying here and wouldn't think twice about not saying here. On top of enjoying our romantic weekend. We ate at the Ember Grille in the hotel and received our wine and chocolate cover strawberries when we come back to our room. Oh! And the San Francisco 49ers had the whole second floor...yes the 49ers stayed and is hotel and that was the cherry on top to the night!! January 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent location to city core 3 days and nights with a very friendly and accomodating staff. Exceptionally clean. We did not use the many facilities, our focus was sightseeing. Staff gave us useful info re evening theater. If ever in Charlotte again, will definetly stay there again. Thank you all. May 16, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Bad Start I waited in line for 30 minutes to check in upon arrival. At that time I was told no rooms were available and they would call and let me know when a room became available. This was approx. 2:00 PM. Two hours later I called the hotel from my phone and I was told a room was available. I had to wait in line another 45 minutes. At one point there was only one agent working. When I finally got in my room it did not meet my expectations. The carpet and chair were stained and did not present a clean feeling. I will say that the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. Rated 4 out of 5 by Positives and Negatives There were many things I appreciated about your hotel but 3 things stand out. The first was the friendliness of the young man who checked me in. The second was the $5 daily voucher when I opted out of daily housekeeping and the 3rd was the offerint of renting work out clothes. The 2 negatives would inlcude the broken latte machine at the hotel Starbucks and kleenex and toilet paper that was not thick enough. May 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Overall Fair Overall atomosphere of the hotel was nice. The staff was very professional and acommodating. A couple of things that could be improved on. On my first day, I noticed a couple of dirty wine glasses on my floor. The guests put them out in front of their door to be picked out. The second day, they were still there and other people also put out their dirty glasses in front of their doors. None of them got picked up while I was staying at the hotel. They just did not look applealing. The bed linen had some stains on them but I used the other bed. February 27, 2014

I was thoroughly impressed with the manner in which my needs were met - arranging for airport transportation & accommodations made upon check-out (duplicate receipt sent to my personal email). I was not overly impressed with the reserved manner in which the desk person handled my check-in. I was friendly but was met with body language conveying "I really don't want to converse with you more than I have to." Perhaps it was the end of a very long day for her. Perhaps she had personal issues on her mind. In any event, I did not feel welcomed. April 5, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Horrible experience staff not friendly We stay at this hotel 2 nights. They didn't respect my AAA discount they couldn't do anything about it but to give me a 50 dolls credit that I didn't use on breakfast cause I was returning to NYC. Staff is a mess not organize. My room wasn't clean the next day and the room service food taste horrible and always made mistakes on our food. They charge me an oatmeal and coffee 98usd. Not even in NY we pay that. The room never got heated to our desire. They engineer came twice to fix. I call so many times to reception to fix stuffs and always delay all the services. February 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Minor frustrations at a normally great hotel I wanted to consider changing my travel plans, but got the run around between the Charlotte hotel and the corporate customer service employees — then never got a call back from Charlotte's "internal sales" team, which apparently are the only people who can answer these kinds of questions. Need to have more people at each hotel who can answer questions quickly. Also was frustrated to have a maid pounding on my door at 830am the day I was scheduled to leave. Check-out time is noon. Maids should have a list of people who have checked out. Otherwise, I have stayed at this hotel often, and I will continue to stay there when I make my frequent visits to Charlotte. I usually have a great experience with a friendly, helpful staff. November 16, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not the best Westin ever I as so excited to get to the Westin because they are always so nice. This one started off bad by my room not being ready at 3:00pm to the not so friendly guy behind the counter. However what I was most disappointed in was the room. Instead of a closet there was a wardrobe in the room that was just ugly. Then came the bathrooms with a small sink and mold on the floor by the shower and in the corners. Food was outrageously priced in the bar but it was very good. Outside area was not kept up, cigarette butts everywhere. Sorry to say I was completely disappointed! September 27, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Conference stay was OK Overall this was a good hotel - a little overpriced, but it was comfortable and clean. There were two things that detracted from my experience: room internet cost and a malfunctioning TV. For the price of the rooms (combined with being a member of the chain's rewards program), one might expect to either have free or reasonably priced (less than $10/night) in-room internet access. Also, I had a malfunctioning TV remote during my stay ... it was replaced upon calling the front desk, but the TV wouldn't turn on when I went to use it. The attendant said that he'd look into the issue, but he never returned. I also followed up with the front desk (to no avail). My wife and I were thinking of staying here on a follow-up visit to Charlotte, but may reconsider given the service I received for a hotel room at this price point. April 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by confusing program The staff was very polite and cordial to visitors. Food in restaurant was excellent and wait staff there very friendly. The houskeeping service program was a bit confusing, One day we didn't get towels the next day we did but the dirty ones were left behind on the floor. I like the program for service only when needed - maybe should be mentioned on checkin rather than to rely on bed cards. Maybe it is new. Also requested to have a light bulb replaced (via phone to the desk), never happened. But security came right away when I locked myself out of the safe. January 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel was only a short drive from Carrowinds When we were planning my 6 year old daughter's birthday extravaganza at carrowinds in the outskirts of Charlotte,we knew not every hotel would do. We called the Starwoods customer service representative and found a great fit with The Wesin Charlotte for our large group. The 8 of us slept comfortably in a combination of a 1 bedroom suite with pullout sofa and adjoining regular room. Our only mistake was forgetting to request an extra rollaway & sheets for the pullout upon making the reservation. Upon leaving one of our vehicles wouldnt start,(due to our kids leaving a light on inside) so they the valet took care of getting ot going while we went to breakfast! We had an overall great experience with courteous and knowledgable staff! August 29, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Another good stay Staff did a nice job of recognizing my Platinum status at check in. Offered me a deluxe room and I asked if there was a suite available since it was Thanksgiving week and the hotel was mostly empty. Manager obliged and I was very pleased with this. Asked for non-feather pillows and did not receive them but great follow up from front desk asking if they were received two hours later. When they found out that they had not they were quickly brought up. Two hiccups though. I never received my green choice points even though the front desk was given my card with the room number on it and I never received a bill in my room nor emailed to me. Overall, another good stay with just a few minor details that could be improved to make it perfect. December 1, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by overall good not above expectations Room was very large and comfortable. Was VERY disappointed it wa add. $18/day to park and I had to load/unload car in the garage(long walk with luggage to get to lobby). If my entire family travels with me to Charlotte, then I will not stay here for that reason. If I can find somewhere where they do not charge that much for parking, then I will stay elsewhere. My daughter ran out of hot water and could not finish her shower before we left. I would stay here again, but will look before I make a decision. I was told by staff there was no quick check out.
