Rated 5 out of 5 by No risk I have had the oppty to stay at this hotel a number of times, and they continue to set the bar on hotel standards. No risk in staying at this hotel. No drama. January 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by front desk staff I travel for a living so stay at a lot of different hotels. The front desk staff you have at this hotel is exceptional! They are ALWAYS so friendly & helpful it's truly a pleasure checking in at your hotel. I have also stayed here while not on a business trip & I still receive the same great service & feel welcome as a guest. I am always confident that I will be getting a nice, clean & comfortable room. Rated 4 out of 5 by The hotel is clean. The Hotel Staff is very professional, and the hotel is very clean. January 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable stay just off the Las Vegas strip Our room was small but very comfortable for two people. All hotel personnel we had contact with were extremely pleasant and the call to the room after check-in to make sure all our needs were met was appreciated. Nice amenities and clean room. Turn-down service was a nice plus. Room furnishings could use updating but again met our needs. Lunch at Suede restaurant was very good, but service was pretty slow for mid afternoon on a week day. Rated 3 out of 5 by The staff has treated us well The staff is always pleasant. They are willing to help and solve any problem that arises. January 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love staying at this hotel! This hotel is nice and close to the Strip without having to go through a huge casino and lobby. The staff is amazing and very accommodating on everything from check-in to check-out. Loved Rick M., Julie P. and Michael V. Just need a couple of more ellipticals in the Fitness Center. Rated 2 out of 5 by Dissapointing stay Because I was staying midweek at this property I figured I had a good chance for a suite upgrade with my Platinum status. I was told that they were all sold out, and very disappointed in the morning to see newspapers in front of all the doors on the floor EXCEPT the suites. We were also told that there would be a continental breakfast set up on the 17th floor, which unfortunately was incorrect information. The front desk was nice enough to provide a credit for $10 at the lobby Starbucks. The rooms are very small by Las Vegas standards, but the lack of a very loud casino was quite nice. Pros: helpful front desk, location, free parking. Cons: lack of upgrades while obviously available, small rooms, resort fee ($12 I think). The front desk told me the resort charge was non negotiable and that it was less than any strip hotels, and covered bottled water and newspapers which should all be provided to Plats for no charge as well. Ironic, since I stayed the next night at a nicer strip hotel for half the price and no resort fee. We also never got the water hot enough to take a shower. It was lukewarm and very uncomfortable. Skip this very mediocre property when in Vegas, as it is not near as nice as even the cheap strip hotels. Love the Starwood, but NOT this property. January 25, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a good Vegas Hotel This is a very tired Westin property. Off the strip, brown drab and not classy. The only good thing in the room is the traditional Westin Bed. I pass and stay at one of the classy strip hotels January 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Peaceful! You can rest like a log! Beds are heavenly! Starbuck's coffee is available right in your room! January 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by This hotel has great features I love this hotel . It's centrally located and very calm. A good spot for families January 24, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by SPG membership While the hotel is not quite upto Westin stndards (I have run into a few in the last year) it offers a decent room, just off the strip at a reasonable rate and is the only offering in the SPG participating hotels near the strip. I like that I didn't have to walk a mile from the front door to check in and then another mile to the lifts and the last mile to the room from the lifts. Room was clean and I liked that I could have the hotel skip servicing the room (I was there two nights) and earn 500 more points. January 24, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs remodel I recently stayed here last minute because of a mix up at another hotel. I was not expecting such old rooms!! The bed was great but the rest of the room needs some cheering up. The shelf in the shower was rusting and the fixtures were old. I was surprised that the hotel was just 10 years old. Returning to the area again next month and really trying to avoid this hotel again. Not what I expected of a Westin hotel by Starwood. January 23, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel is fine in a pinch I was disappointed with my stay. My room was worn. The wall paper coming off of the walls, the toilet paper holder coming away from the wall. My telephone didnt work. I had a hard time getting service from the front desk and I never talked to the same person twice about my needs. Suade told me they were too busy to serve me carry out food on my first challenging night at the hotel. The lobby, casino, bar tenders, waitressing staff, public restrooms, premises, front door peoples, beds, and conference amenities were good. I did enjoy the happy hour one evening. But all in all, I found the room service to be very expensive. The hotel was about 2 blocks from the strip and as a single woman I wouldnt walk there alone. Fortunately, I met some nice people and we ventured out together. Unfortunately, adding salt to my wounds, after recieving my bill and checking out, my credit card was charged extra charges...and Im waiting to have that money credited to my account. I have been to Vegas 4 times and this was my least favorite spot to stay. But the bed was awesome. I just didnt get the customer service that I enjoy on my trips. January 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Herbalife Event Successful! My hats off to Craig, Jose and Francisco for going above and beyond to make sure our group was properly accommodated. All of our guests left the event pleased. Thank you! January 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by problems with door jam I stayed in 1463. teh door seemed hard to close and required an extra hard tug to firmly close it so that it locks. In one instance such as required strong pull jiggled the door frame such that the securtity latch engaged after the closed door. fortunately there was someone in the room who was able to open the latch and allow entry. This should be checked. January 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has amazing people that work for them Steve checked us in and what a personable guy. He was polite, welcoming and warm. Made you feel as if you were checking in at home. He sent up a complimentary cheese plate because it was my mom's birthday and it was a brilliant snack after a long day. January 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Westin Las Vegas I visited Las Vegas with my small dogs and a car full of luggage. Getting into my room has never been easier. I even asked to switch to another room further from the elevators hoping to decrease the chance of my dogs barking at people walking by. I was in my room, and transferred to the second room, car parked, and room service on it's way effortlessly. Staff was always extremely helpful and accommodating. Everyone was nice to my dogs, too. The hotel was right next to the Flamingo, too. I didn't expect it to be as close as it was to the strip. The room service food was excellent. I didn't have a chance to look at the pool, spa, or fitness center. January 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Rooms good, amenities not so nice early check-in request not met. Was not called when room was ready. Food outrageously expense - breakfast buffet $18 !!! Room very nice & clean. Having to pay for Wi-Fi an insult - this should be included as is in all other cities! January 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bad Bathroom The shower needs fixing in room 748. The drain barely stays up and the shower/bath switch basically needed the hulk to pull it up. I took a shower in ankle deep water. January 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff Met My Needs It took 3 phone calls to the service desk (0 for operator) to get someone (maintenance) to come to my room (955) to change out the batteries on the TV remote control. Otherwise, the stay was good. January 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our hotel experience was great. The location was convenient (within walking distance) to the convention we were attending. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all our needs. The facility was very clean. Checkout was fast! January 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location and service The room was comfortable and clean. The parking garage was very easy to get in and out of and I never had trouble finding an open spot. Walking distance to the strip so we didn't have to take the car on Las Vegas Blvd (very good thing). Staff was courteous and helpful. Went out to the pool at night. Very nice pool area, water was very nice and warm. Jacuzzi needed a slight cleaning, but it was acceptable. January 16, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Welcome Refuge from the Strip OVERALL IMPRESSION: While I do enjoy the Casino atmosphere, I find it very relaxing and refreshing to have the respite from the 24/7 “in your face” approach of Vegas-style that his property offers. Just like its location, it’s close enough to “the Strip” for comfort but far enough to offer breathing space. And I mean that literally - being a smoke-free hotel. The sweet smelling air, the subdued atmosphere of the lobby casino and the normal accoutrements of a Westin property - like the beautiful live floral arrangements and understatedly elegant furnishings - are all pleasant reminders that there is another world outside of Vegas! SPG RECOGNITION: Excellent. The upgrade was to a top-floor executive suite. The breakfast amenity was a full buffet in the lovely Suede Restaurant. As there was a special promotion on we also received a boatload of points. No in-room amenity. Special requests well-handled THE ROOM: Typical Westin style - newly renovated. Elegant and huge. LOCATION: Perfect for proximity to the Strip and monorail. Quick and easy free parking out front. EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS: Having an on-site Starbucks is a bonus. DID NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS: The check-in clerk was a total mess. A part from a generally shoddy approach, he assigned us to a room which did not exist (1731 when It was actually 1721) causing us - and a befuddled bellman - to wander the halls and go back and forth to Reception thus wasting 30 minutes. Rated 5 out of 5 by The clean hotel in Vegas I travel frequently on business and always enjoy a Westin when the budget permits. In Vegas there are many choices and most of them involve lots of gambling and cigarette smoke. I can count on the Westin for clean rooms and a clean hotel. This combined with the fact that you don't need a GPS to go from your room to your rental car, as the garage is easily accessible, makes it the business mans choice. While there, I noticed many airline staff staying at the Westin and you know those guys know where the goods spots are! January 12, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by This is the most terrible hotel that I have ever stayed so far in Westin . All over of this hotel is real not to the level it shall be . January 12, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Just sad and gloomy and old Wow. I've never seen such a tired Westin. Has to be one of the more depressing places near the strip-- and that says a lot. Everything is old and smelly. Staff is fine. Play recognition is fine, I guess. But everyone is just indifferent here-- and frankly I don't blame them. I love my SPG points and always chose it first in any city, but I'll go elsewhere next time. January 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful stay! We recently stayed over New Years and had to share our experiences. First let me say that this hotel is a bit older and does show its age a bit so set your expectations accordingly. With that said however, it was perfectly clean and I feel the service is some of the best we have had in Vegas. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel had little treats like a managers reception every night where they served wine, beer and finger foods that were very good. They also had a hot cider stand one night it when it was very cold. Also on new years they handed out hats and horns. What more could you ask for from a hotel that is reasonably priced and still very close (5 minute walk) to the strip! A+ in my book! January 8, 2013
