The Westin San Francisco Airport is a clean and comfortable hotel. While some things are starting to show their age in the hotel - like the shower and some aspects of the bathrooms - everything is very clean.
For a quick overnight or during a layover, this is a great hotel choice.
The hotel offers a free airport shuttle which was very convenient and ran every 15-20 minutes. As a platinum member, the hotel offered me breakfast in the restaurant as they didn't have a lounge. I was still able to choose from the other platinum amenities as well.
Check-in was quick and easy and the staff was very friendly.
I would stay at this hotel again.

we had flown in from Hawaii and was met by the shuttle bus and driven the short distance to the hotel. checked in and was at the bar having a much deserved cocktail,less then an hour after our plane landed. service,room and cocktails were great. On our departure I left our cell phone in the room and upon arriving home back in Chicago there was a message waiting that thery had found the phone and they were shipping it home.can't say enough about the hotel the staff and the service. please don't change.

We wanted a safe and comfortable hotel near the Cow Palace, and we were so pleased to find the Westin SFO. We had a lovely view of the bay and airport but experienced no airport noise. The staff was excellent and we plan to stay here again. Please consider this hotel even if you are not flying out of SFO.

Hotel location is good; airport shuttle service is quick and efficient; BART access is within walking distance; Hotel staff and friendly and efficient; hotel staff upgraded room to suite; room was very comfortable; exceeded my expectations; will definitely stay at Westin SFO during next visit.

I stay here almost every time I am in SFO. The staff treats preferred folks like royalty. The rooms are Westin quality. I was upgraded to a suite once, and it was very nice (felt like 1800 sq ft.), but I was only there for 10 hours. The bartenders could be friendlier, for sure.

I've been staying at this hotel for over 10 years. She's getting a little dated but they are starting to referb. I've stayed in the new rooms. It's fine but not over the top. Check in is hit or miss. Sometimes a flight crew or a large group will flood them and it takes a long time. Without this it's a snap. The room service and the Vine and Grill are good. The wine menu is perfect for my tastes. The parking charges are high. The parking machines that open the gate have tempted me to drive through the gate multiple times. Lucky the bellman comes over and gets it to work. Again good hotel, try to avoid the parking. Internet is fine and no issues. Electrical outlets well placed.

Badly in need of the refurb they have scheduled, but a servicible option for those SPG members looking for an option in conjunction with a SFO flight. The shuttle was reliable. The breakfast buffet was very good.

After experiencing 4 plane cancellations I was forced to stay the night in SF and as a SPG member chose to stay at the SFO Westin. I called reservations who had my room held at my corporate rate and then somehow lost the reservation. The hotel was then overbooked and they couldn't get it back. I was instructed to simply go walk-in and I was assured I would get a room and they would honor my corporate rate. Well I got a room, they didn't honor my corporate rate and the room was not up to your hotel standards let alone my expectations. Room phone didn't work, there was no remote control and the heat was cranked all the way up to 78 degrees. All in all it was a miserable experience.

Just what you need after a long flight. Speedy check in, good room, and a really good restaurant with fine food and beverages.
Shuttle service was on time and fast.
Will stay again when in the area.

The location is great, only a few minutes walk from the BART to Downtown and very close to the airport. Free Airport Shuttle runs often and fast (max 10min). The area around the hotel has not much to offer, but there's a nice path along the Bay for a run.
The Staff was friendly and efficient, the breakfast staff was very nice...
The hotel itself needs a refurbishment. When walking through the corridors, you feel like in a prison. Rooms are clean, size is okay, but bathroom was small and facilities very old. No upgrade as SPG Platinum was given.
Gym is small; pool a bit smelly and cold; situated right next to the front desk and you have to walk through the lobby.
You pay mainly for the location.

I come here quite a bit with my fiance and my little guy (dog) and we love it here. They are absolutely accommodating of pets. They have an entire floor for SPG members and try their best to give us the corner rooms so our little guy doesn't get anxious.
If you're looking for a great place that is also pet friendly this is the place to go. They do charge $20 for parking, but it is gated and there is valet service. The place has a restaurant, some banquet halls for rent, meeting rooms, and pool.
Love the fact that it is right by the airport so you can watch airplanes take off but the sound proofing prevents you from hearing the engines.
Also they have great friendly staff always extremely helpful.

One would hope that by being near the airport, and having an early (6:00 am) flight, a restful stay would be possible. Alas, not so much.
The rooms are not adequately sound-proofed, and noise in the halls (of which there was a great deal), slamming doors, crying children in nearby rooms, etc. prevented a good night's sleep. Thus, even though trying to retire for sleep at a reasonable time (10 pm), and arising at 3:30 am to prepare to catch the 4 am shuttle, sleep was fitful at best, with many awakenings from all the noise.
Not expected from a hotel of this supposed caliber.

The location of this hotel is excellent, if you have any business at SFO. Could not be much closer. Also walking distance to the Millbrae BART station, which was very convenient. The rooms are a little worn, but they're big and have all the Westin touches -- excellent beds and bedding, a big desk, a nice chair/ottoman combo. Surprisingly quiet for being so close to an airport; I heard no planes from inside my room. Very accommodating staff; the bartender was warm and friendly, and the front desk staff took care of my needs quickly and happily. Would definitely recommend.

Sometimes first impression is VERY important. When I arrived at 9 PM, only two front desk staff are serving for a queue of more than 10 people! And the queue is just keep increasing. After serval complains finally we got a third front desk staff. People are exhausted when they arrive at the airport, and standing in such a long queue to check-in for a Westin is just awful.
Front desk says it will cost me $30 for an room upgrade with a bay view even for you as a platinum member. Well although she tried to 'save time' and finally waived it for me, but is this against the platinum benefits? I am not asking for a suite, just a room with better view.
During the stay the housekeeping staff was great! Restaurants are fair as well.

I spent three nights at this hotel in March 2014. I was given a room on the 7th floor that had been updated. It was a nice room with a wonderful heavenly bed, and very quiet given the proximity to the airport.
The best thing about my stay was the service - from the front desk staff to the breakfast and dinner waitstaff and everyone in between, I felt very welcome and that they were looking out for me.
I used the fitness center each morning and while it isn't huge, it was enough to get a good workout in. The machines always had clean towels and water bottles.

I loved it there, Christine was great and Kyle from the front desk. They helped answer all the questions i had while i stayed there. Plus they gave me a nice room over looking the water. I slept like a baby. the only thing i would like is next time to not have housekeeping try to come in my room at 830am, which woke me up. I understand rooms need to be cleaned but just would of been nice to sleep in without getting woken up.
Went to benihana's for the first time and it was great and right near the Westin which made it easier to get to.

The location was great, 10 mins from airport and a 30min BART (train ) ride to SF Downtown ($8 return). The room and hotel was very quite, comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly and efficient, nothing a problem. Meals simple but yummy. Across the road is a path along the waterfront - great for walking, running, plane watching (international and domestic runway right in front - can't hear from room) or accessing restaurants. Also a lovely shopping district is a short taxi ride away. Highly recommend this hotel.

This is a very nice close to the airport hotel. Their park and fly arrangements are very convenient. The staff is very courteous and the rooms are nice. The hotel is being renovated from the top floor down right now.
They have a nice restaurant as well.
My only grip with SPG in general is charging for wireless internet even if you are an SPG preferred member. Only the higher levels get free wireless. Other nice and not as nice hotel chains give free wireless, some to anyone and most to anyone in their club.

The Westin SFO is a good choice at the airport. I almost always stay here when I need an airport hotel. Large rooms, good gym and pool, all the expected amenities. The staff makes the place - very gracious and friendly. As a Platinum you are treated very well - room upgrade and breakfast. This hotel is closer to the airport than some of the other choices, so the shuttle is a fast trip to the terminal. Had a problem with the heater in my room and maintenance was there quickly to address the issue.

This is a relatively nice hotel with a great location near the airport and bay; however, I find that the staff is under par either because they are overloaded or because they are not properly trained.
When arriving at the hotel, and then later when I returned to the hotel, the parking valet was no where to be found and I stood waiting at my car for 15 minutes until I finally went inside to ask for him.
The restaurant in the lobby had one person running the bar, cleaning tables and serving food.
When my breakfast was brought up to my room there was not butter or jelly included for the toast.
Overall, I think that this hotel need to take a look at its management, since all of these problems seem to be the result of poor oversight.
The service quality is well below par for most Westins, and I have stayed at many.

Usually the service at this hotel is very good. However this time when I checked in, the person at the desk ran off to put something away and when he came back appeared hurried. He did thank me for being a Platinum member, however neglected to ask a couple of key questions: "would you be interested in making a green choice" and "would you like your bill emailed to you"? On Wednesday, I had to call back to the hotel and ask to have my bill emailed to me.

I have stayed at this hotel many many times over the years. It is great when your business picks up the tab, but out of your own pocket, it gets quite pricey and then they add a huge parking fee on top. There are excellent other hotels in the area that I have used, but I prefer this one, when I can get a reasonable price, because of the location -- easy access to just about anything and everything, if you have a car. It is not an easy walk to anything.

I had 6:30am flight.
There were many hotels available.
I chose Westin over many other lower priced hotels expecting little more expectation than other hotel chains.
Turned out "phones in the room does not work" "no wake-up call available" "45 min to airport from by shuttle due to stopping 3 other hotels. It takes 20min from my apartment in Manhattan to LaGuardia airport.
Probably those under $100 rooms had at least working phone in the room.

We had a great weekend stay at this hotel. Airport shuttles very timely and easy to find. We came back late our first day and were concerned the restaurant would be closed since it was near 10pm. We were seated without hesitation and the food was great, and the service excellent. The wine list was excellent like you would expect to see in San Francisco. Overall a great stay and will definitely return.

I was expecting just an above average room but all of their accommodations were top tier! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, the shower had a huge rainhead w/ handshower and luxurious towels. And for breakfast in the restaurant downstairs I asked for a croissant and it happened to be freshly baked from scratch and I even got a free refill on my delicious beet/apple juice. I was blown away!

Poor front desk service, lousy restaurant with inattentive service, but worst: bugs with wifi, spending time on the phone with "tech support". That's like having to call tech support to get running water. And they charge for it! Come on Westin, figure it out. No wonder this was the only hotel with available rooms in the entire Bay Area going into pride weekend. Do not stay here, ever!

Room as far as sleeping only was ok. I never been in such an expensive hotel with no fan in the bathroom, no fridg for left over food, no microwave, no ice bucket or location for ice, no vending machines. I have never experienced such rude service in a gift shop either. The quality of the food in the restaurant was very poor. In the future for Seminars I will choose else where.

Located minutes from SFO, with easy shuttle service. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly and attentive. Indoor heated pool is great when it is cool (foggy) outside, workout is available as well. Breakfast buffet serves all the basics for a quick and convenient morning meal. 20-25 minutes to the City and 30-40 to Silicon Valley so a nice quiet happy medium.

This hotel did not meet my criteria of what a Westin property should be. The room was old and tired with torn carpet, dirty wallpaper and worn out pillows and mattresses. Definately not a "heavenly bed" experience. Upon check out, the concierge did not ask about my stay - and seemed put off when I asked for a paper copy of my billing receipt.
