If you're looking for hotel in Tokyo, this place just might fit the bill. Although it is a 10 to 15 minute walk to the closest train station, 100% of this can be walked in a covered walkway when it rains… which is what exactly we needed on our trip.
The check-in process was flawless, and the hotel's lobby was impressive to say the least. We stayed one night, and traveled the next day and night, then staying two nights later in this same hotel. The Westin Tokyo kept some of our bags for us, gave us umbrellas, and when we returned to the Westin Tokyo two days later, our bags were already in the room that they had given us. I would absolutely stay in this hotel again.

This is a fairly expensive hotel compared to other SPG alternatives in Tokyo, however it is easily one of the best hotels under the SPG banner in all of Asia.
The service is fantastic and the food is even better. I have always been upgraded to a suite with only 2 exceptions in over 20 stays in the past 3 years.
It also features one of the best serviced Platinum lounges I've ever visited. The only downside to it is that it can get pretty busy on any given night.
However, although the location is great, it is about a mile walk to the nearest JR station which makes train/subway travel a little inconvenient. It's too short to take a taxi and just too far for a comfortable walk.
All other aspects of the hotel meet or exceed the Category 6 expectations.

Nice attractive property to look at but don't expect much platinum recognition. No recognition at check in or upgrade offer. Couldn't even get a room with a city view. Staff could hardly speak English. No response from front desk manager on room issues. Not a good first impression for SPG properties in Tokyo.

The room is spacious considering in Tokyo - we were able to fit 2 adults and 2 children in the room with 4 suit cases. There is a boutique garden with water falls at back of the hotel viewable from the lounge which makes it very nice and impressive. Nice and safe location, about 10 mins walk to the JR line and Metro Ebisu station, very helpful to navigate Tokyo. The Yebisu Garden Place is next door with many restaurants and shops. The airport Limousine Bus stops and picks up every hour so I don't have to worry about transportation to the airport with many luggages. Hotel staffs are very friendly and responsive, English is no issue at all.
Down side - no swimming pool in the hotel. There is one in the Yebisu Garden Place but children are not allowed. The gym is available but a little small.
All in all, a good experience for a family vacation first time in Japan.

Excellent stay. Club lounge and SPG rooms well appointed and maintained. Yebisu Teppanyaki Restaurant was great for lunch. Breakfast at the Terrace was nice. Internet in room was blazing fast.

My experience at the dining/breakfast area was not good the whole week. The staff service is very inconsistent. I saw cooks talking poorly to each - leader to subordinate. I shouldn't see that. That should be kept behind kitchen lines and not in front of me. On several occasions my drink order was forgotten, if I had no utensils, then the person that would have brought it, forgot and i had to remind them. There is one cook in particular who I feel is not happy doing his job and I've seen this over a 6 month period. He is not friendly when I ask for help. I don't know what his name is but can describe him if needed. I am loyal to the Westin Tokyo and will be back soon but can't stand to recommend the restaurant given the experience I've had.

I like the location in Ebisu because it is near residential areas - more than just a bunch of office buildings nearby; location near Ebisu station and Yamanote line makes travel easy; airport bus stops directly at hotel - don't have to change at T-CAT, which is convenient

As always, my Tokyo visit is at Westin Tokyo. The location is a bit distance from the nearest train station, but who cares, because the walking escalator to the station is quite an experience.
What I like most about Westin Tokyo is for their great hospitality and fantastically comfortable room.

The hotel was beautiful. The room was large and very clean with a great western style bathroom. My complaint is with the staff at the terrace restaurant. I always felt rushed and never felt I got the same service as your Japanese clients. I really enjoyed the Chinese restaurant on the second floor. The staff was very nice, especially the hostess.

Stayed at the hotel for 5 days for a conference that was held at the hotel.
Hotel was excellent, the staff was very prompt with all my needs. The room was clean and had a great view of the mountains when it was not raining.
Breakfast buffet was excellent, enjoyed having coffee outside early in the morning.
It was also close enough via subway to go out in the evening.
The only drawback was being so far from the airport.

This was my first trip to Tokyo and the Westin was perfect. The location is very close to the subway/train station and close to restaurants shopping as well. The hotel itself is very nice, very clean. The staff is WONDERFUL. I highly recommend it!

We stayed in this hotel during our last trip to Tokyo. We have stayed in many hotels in Tokyo and this is one of the best! Fantastic service, I am a gold member and we really appreciated being moved to an upgraded room. The location is great for tourists....very near Ebisu Beer factory which was fun to visit. Also, great restaurants nearby with world class views of the city. The only drawback is it was quite a long walk from the subway station. Other than that it was really the perfect place to stay in Tokyo. Job well done Tokyo Westin....we will be back for certain!

This is not my first time at Westin Tokyo, and I love the hotel for its great furnished room, amenities (including the fab green tea toiletries), fab breakfast, and location (that offers a respite from the hectic Tokyo life).
However, I am let down (this is the 2nd time) by the upgrade opportunity to enjoy an Exec room instead. Both times, even though the privileges were conscientiously provided for, there was somehow a very lack of human touch, and recognition for SPG members (as if the Exec room was the best they could provide, nothing more could be done). As such other than getting a late checkout, and check in gift, there was little else seemingly done to enhance the stay.
This was markedly different from my exp when I actually redeemed a room using points entirely - I had an early check in, and each time, the staff asked whether there was anything they could do, to make my stay more comfortable. As such, I feel let down by choosing an upgrade, when I feel more valued when I was not paying as much.

• The rooms were not ready when we arrived 5 p.m.
• The breakfast restaurant was always “full” you had to wait a queue although there was a lot of empty tables
• You had to wait for your coffee or tea for about 10-15 minutes
• The staff was not effective at all
• The club executive room had very little to eat and drink and the snacks was always out and after 8 pm everything was picked away
• They had a big problem with English
• They debit your credit card with fantasy sums when you have checked out and gone home and blame error in there system, I say no more….

I stayed on 8/31 to 9/2. As I check in at the front desk, a man was helping me, I asked information about 2 things: 1. I need timetable for Narita Express to go to airport, he gave me the time table but I couldn't find the right time that match my flight, he suggested me to take taxi to the airport, after I am settled with my room, I went back to the front desk to book for airport taxi, this time was a lady helping me, she told me that the time table I got was not current anymore 2008 version, so she has to print out the current one for me, I hate to got wrong information on the first place, but glad it fixed and I found the match Narita Express time with my flight., My 2nd. question was. when & how to visit Tsukiji market for fish's auction, this is my MAIN reason in visiting Tokyo, he told me to leave hotel the next day at very early morning at 4am. When I went back to the front desk to book for an early morning taxi for Tsukiji and this time was a different lady helping me, I asked the same question, she suggested me to leave the hotel even earlier at 3:30 am by taxi and gave me the form to give it to taxi driver. The next day, I woke up early at 2:30 am with my son and took a taxi at 3:30am and show the taxi driver the form I got from front desk, he looked confused, he drove and stopped back at the hotel and talked to the hotel bell man, he told us that Tsukiji market was closed for auction on Sunday! This is awfull, how could so many front desks employee that were helping me with so many wrong informations??? Very un-acceptable for Westin Hotel Standard And it is NOT FUN at all to woke up that early with so much hope to see the auction and found out it closed. I hope other guests do not have the same experience with me. I could recommend other to stay at this hotel for the excellent room condition only.

Hotel was very spacious, clean and beautifully decorated.
However, upon check-in, we had to inquire ourselves about a welcome gift and room upgrade because the receptionist did not offer or recognize our SPG Gold Preferred status.
Our room was very spacious with a well-appointed bathroom and a great view of Tokyo. The staff was courteous when we inquired about a local restaurant. We were able to get easy walking directions from them in both English and Japanese.
To our disappointment, our final memory of The Westin is that after checking out, we discovered that we were charged a higher room rate than what we were quoted when we booked.

GOOD: I disagree with other travelers about the location. I found this an excellent location. From Ebisu Garden Place, there are moving walkways that take you to the metro station with ease. And If you take B1 from the Westin elevators, it connects directly to Ebisu Garden Place. And you have access to many shops without having to step out onto the above street. My wife and I felt like this was our personal secret passage to the hotel!
Disappointment: When I checked in I got a new trainee, so my check-in took a little longer than normal, and she didn't provide me with all of the platinum benefits upon check-in. I had to go research later online and then re-verify with another staff later. The rooms are also a little outdated and needs a little face-lift compared to some of the other hotels within the area.

Coming to Japan for my honeymoon, Tokyo was my first stop. The hotel certainly doesn't give you the wow effect, but I liked the overall design, not too modern, classy even. Fairly distant to Ebisu train station/subway - easily a 10-15 minute walk going up and down. Breakfast is amazing, totally worth it. Rooms were comfortable, however I had a note in my reservation asking for a early check-in. Our suite wasn't ready and ended up in a regular room. No big deal, if not by the fact we had to change rooms 3 times in a 4 nights stay. Not-upgraded, upgraded to a suite, downgraded to a regular room. Considering I had to pack and repack, that ruined my stay in a way.

This is a good example of discreet but deep comfort. Well maintained, fast and efficient service, courteous advice.
Only thing that was slight disappointment was the food: good but not really up to value in the Chinese restaurant and in the lobby buffet - a bit middle of the road for a high-end hotel.
Also the spa and workout area is a little lacking in amenities - comes across as a bit of an afterthought...
Otherwise, however, very fine place to which I will certainly return.

Inspite of my reservation through the front desk for the Chinese restaurant, no one acknowledge the platinum status with a free drink (an SPG Benefit advertised globally) when I got there. In addition, although the waiters acknowledged you when you call, they take their time to ask what you need. When they finally know what you need, the service was so slow. A glass of wine does not need to be cooked so should be easily served. And by the way, the restaurant was empty!!!!
I will come back to the hotel but never to the over-priced Chinese restaurant with miisaligned service compared to the price!
