Check-in was friendly, quick and efficient. Unfortunately they could not upgrade our room, as the hotel was said to be full.
While the lobby area and club lounge has been very nicely renovated, the rooms look a bit dated. We noticed a cigarette smell in the bathroom and complained about it.
Immediate respons in the form of an air-cleaner, which we accepted, as we just had unpacked. Also the informatio, that the manager was informed about the problem.
However the problem could not been solved, as the smoke came into the bathroom though the ventilation system. Also we never heard anything from the manager.
After 2 nights we got a call that an upgraded room would be available, so we changed. The room is somewaht biiger and has better amenities, however it is far a way from a standard suite etc.
The lounge was nice and servde a good (more than continental) breakfast. However the lounge was overly busy for breakfast, so we partially had to wait for a table and also the buffet was streched to its limit, with items not being replaced fast enough.
Overall I still think it is a good hotel and I would stay there again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hazkas Slow Start but They Were Oustanding
Stayed at Westin from 11-17 Jan 2014, and experienced a slow start where first day experience was below expectation. However, after giving feedback to the hotel management, they were outstanding. Probably they were not expecting such a busy weekend on my date of arrival. And they set to impress.
The location is so central, near most of the attractions, shopping, eating place, and subway. All walking distance from the hotel.
The staff from the doorman to the reception, lounge reception and restaurant staff are all set to service you. Very helpful and delivering what of you would expect.
I left my hp in a taxi which I took from the hotel, and with the assistance of the Bell Captain "Scott" they managed to trace the Taxi car number from CCTV and called the Taxi to deliver the HP back to the Hotel. An excellent Service. Consierge staff were very helpful and knowledgable.
Well Done the management of the Westin and their staff. Wishing you well celebrating your 100 years. Very pleasant stay

Arrived at 8am and the hotel managed to prepare a room for my early check-in (as requested) immediately. Staff was attentive and was always on a lookout to ensure that I was informed when my bus to the airport arrived.
Location of the hotel was very central and very convenient to the major shops and transport hub. The hotel also has an excellent gym, pool and sauna. The rooms are comfy but slightly dated.Some slight improvement in this area would make this hotel a 6 star destination.

I'm used to being recognized as a Platinum member and being treated well in Starwood hotels in Asia, but the Westin Chosun, Seoul, exceeded my expectations. At check-in I was told that while they typically upgraded Platinum guests, because this was my first visit they had given me an Executive Suite. The room was excellent and the service I received throughout my stay was consistently of high quality. The staff were always available with offers to help, even with simple items. I also appreciated the opportunity to eat breakfast in the regular restaurant.
I will definitely stay at this hotel on my next visit to Seoul.

Great location - close to Lotte Dept Store. Fantastic restaurant called Arirang across the street from the rear entrance to the hotel which was reasonably priced. The hotel restaurants are probably 2-3x more expensive than what's available in the surrounding area. The staff was very friendly and courteous and acknowledged our SPG status. Would return on our next visit to Seoul!

This was my 2nd trip to Seoul and was a stopover holiday for my wife and myself (returning from Guam on route to Malaysia).
As a SPG member, I have stayed in a number of Starwood hotels around the world and have not been disappointed with the hotels so far. My preferred hotel in Seoul was Westin Chosun primarily due to its excellent location. We wanted a hotel that was near to the tourist attractions, metro station, shopping complexes, restaurants and safe, and Westin fulfilled all these requirements.
Our 5 nights stay at Westin was memorable. The room on the SPG floor was just the right size for the two of us, the bed and pillows were nice and we had good sleep throughout our stay.
We arrived from Guam at about 9.30 am and was hoping for an early check-in. The front counter staff who specks good english was very helpful and we were pleasantly surprised that we could check in at about 11.30am.
Westin's location was superb and we were really happy that we could easily walk to the N Seoul Tower, Buchon Hanok Village, Insadong, etc. The metro station (City Hall) was located just beside the hotel and my wife was really happy that she could reach Hongyik and Ewa Womens University in a few minutes.
We had some of our dinners at the restaurants around the hotel, particularly the Korean Restaurant (Arirang) opposite the hotel.
We were hoping that we could catch the cherry blossom but unfortunately we could not see any flowers on this trip. Hence, we will have to visit Seoul again and my preferred hotel is still Westin Chosun!
