I was absolutely underwhelmed with the experience that I had in the Westin Dublin.
On arrival way after official check-in time the room was not ready and I was told that they would call me on my mobile phone once the room was ready. I specifically asked if they could not just assign me a different room and was told that they were fully booked and no other rooms were available.
When I came back 35 minutes later the room was still not ready, when I asked them to check, it suddenly was available. I went to the room just to find that while it was a very large room it had 2 single beds in it and I clearly had requested a queen bed as the single beds are no good to me.
When I went back to reception I was told that he had double upgraded me and if I really wanted queen/king bed, he would need to give me the room category I had booked (classic). As the bed is more important I asked him to do it and within seconds a room was available (funny that he did not mention that the upgrade was the reason for me to have to wait 35 minutes and how fast a room in a sold out place was suddenly available).
While the room was perfectly fine, there were several issues.
The TV power cable was unplugged and when I attempted to get it back in, I was greeted by a large wave of dust and dirt coming off the backside of the TV. The power cable for the radio was also unplugged and when I moved the nightstand to get it, again large amounts of dirt/dust were collected at the electric outlet. In fact when I unplugged the radio power from the wall there was so much dirt that I had to clean my hands afterwards. Clearly housekeeping is only doing the visible areas.
The light switch in the room is very badly placed, the main switch is at the front door and one at the corner of the room hidden behind a massive lamb and not easy to reach out of bed unless you get out of bed.
The internet was a joke, the cable on the desk did not work and the Wifi was only connecting very badly to the router. The speed was unacceptable with 80 Kbps down/210 Kbps up for the most time. Good enough to read e-mail but nothing else. It was included in my room rate , if I had to pay 15€ for it, I would have been really disappointed with it.
On the positive note, the room service was excellent, the delivery staff friendly and using my name, the food was great. So was the breakfast experience, the staff could not have been better and the offering for a “continental breakfast” was excellent with a wide choice of meat/cheese/cereals/yogurts. Service was great and the food good. Exactly what one needs to start a Sunday morning.

The hotel was lovely, relaxing, distinctive, welcoming and comfortable....but the calibre of your staff really elevated the experience for us. Special mention to the Doorman (who gave us a warm welcome every time, even though he must have been frozen), the staff on afternoon tea duty and the Mint Bartenders. Excellent all-round, thanks

The hotel is really in a great location in Dublin. I stayed on my way to London and again on the way back. The first night missed the fact that I was a lifetime platinum and the room was average. I have to say Dublin management noted the error and my second stay might have been the best SPG experience I can recall. Great staff, good loyalty recognition and incredible comfort. I already booked myself back in for two different stays in December. Thank you

I had a good stay. More important than that I had a crisis, having left my laptop on my plane! The concierge and other staff were intelligent and supportive and set out help resolve this. Their responsiveness and care showed good recruitment and training and I can't praise them highly enough.

This is a really nice hotel in a great location. It is right across the from Temple Bar. It is in walking distance from the Guiness factory.
We always like the Westin experience .

Much as I hate to have to write this about a hotel I have aspired to stay in for years I feel it is necessary! Firstly hotel is brilliant in room standard and location, the smell of new carpet was lovely.
However as it was my girlfriends birthday I spent a little extra and booked the breakfast in this 5star hotel. We waited in line which was a little surprising but no big deal then had a MENU thrust on us and sent to a table end of service,seriously! No idea what the menu was for as we still had it at the end of the "meal". Ok , buffet breakfast , we worked it out ourselves, but as far as having two meats on show at any one time it seemed to be a problem ,most of the time it was either badly cooked bacon or sausages heaped into the dish in disarray. The scrambled egg day one resembled something I would rather not say and the fact it was completely different the next day says it all.I have had much better breakfasts and organisation in any of the hotels I have stayed in which were not 5 star?
In the beautiful bar the staff were just as scatty. Half way through serving me twice they disappeared to do something totally irrelevant , maybe we were just unlucky but there does seem to be a theme.

While my stay was only for one evening, I found the hotel to be very customer focused, clean and warm. The location is centrally located to major cultural sites and is right across the street from the tour bus lines. the Mint Lounge downstairs was convenient and had a very wide variety of wines, bourbons and a very attentive wait staff. I will definitely stay here on my next visit to Dublin.

I stayed in the Dublin Westin for six days in late October. The amenities and facilities were beautiful and the grounds very well cared for. However, the staff was among the best I have ever encountered in my travels. Uniformly professional, always helpful and creative, they truly helped me experience my first trip to Ireland in the best way. The people at the Westin Dublin are the reason for my highest praise.

We ran a meeting at the hotel and it was outstanding. The staff is superlative, the food was excellent, the location is perfect -- right next to Trinity College, near Temple Bar and an easy walk to any place you want to go. If ever in Dublin again, I will stay here.

Our stay at the Westin Dublin was fantastic. The hotel is centrally located to shopping (Grafton Street), food and entertainment (Temple Bar) and sightseeing. The staff was very friendly and helpful in all respects. If I were to make one suggestion, it would be to provide Internet service that is easier and faster...but that's really a minor issue.
The rooms are clean, spacious and offer guests all the amenities one could ask for. I can highly recommend the Westin Dublin.

We really loved the friendly and generous staff at the Westin Dublin...to a person they mirror the overall friendly impression we had of the entire City. The hotel is perfectly situated to be walk-able to all the sights we had on our list for this short stay, and in a wonderful part of town next to Trinity College.
Due to our early flight from Boston, we arrived at the Westin Dublin at 5:00AM, fully expecting to spend several bleary-eyed hours in the lobby until someone checked out [the hotel was fully booked,] but the CA at the desk offered us a very nice room in lieu of the Writer's Suite upgrade they had us down for, and we never looked back...we were so happy to have the room we kept it for our entire stay.
Thank you WD...we can't wait to return!

The best part of this hotel is the location - right in the center of Dublin with easy walking access to Trinity College, Temple Bar, Grafton Street, etc. The hotel itself is very nice too. We were upgraded to a library suite, which was stunning. The bar downstairs is pretty out of the way, so you won't get a slice of Irish life, but it's nice enough. Plus, there's plenty of other great places to eat and drink close by. All in all, I'd highly recommend the hotel for the rooms and the location.

My girfriend and I had an excellent stay at the Westin, the staff was attentive and catered to every need. The breakfast was excellent and the service the concierge provided for ou trip out to Kells for our friends wedding was superb. When I return to Dublin, I won't consider staying anywhere else.

the WESTIN IN Dublin WAS Comfortable AND THE BEST LOCATION. Our room , bed, bathroom, was the best. The breakfast delicious and they have a gym. The location was in the middle of everything. Could not have been better!

From the very start, pulling up at the door in the rain, we were immediately surrounded by umbrellas and staff waiting to take care of our every need. That set the scene for three amazing days of over and above service - from the amazing breakfasts to ever-so-helpful staff, to concierge knowledge, to a special 50th wedding note for my parents, to the front desk efficiency, to the spectacular rooms. My whole family came away with a resounding "amazing" in relation to our stay.
