Rated 5 out of 5 by LaoWhy Great Property, Staff are nice and try hard
First the hotel: Rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. Fitness center is pretty extensive and well staffed. Pool is fantastic, 25 meters with lap lanes. Senses Restaurant is a buffet and does a good job with the food. Prego Italian Restaurant food is uneven. Lobby/lounge area is open and inviting.
The staff is cheerful and helpful. But as with any Beijing hotel, staff turnover is an issue. While it seems to me that Westin does emphasize staff training, there is no substitute for an experienced staff, especially in a property that must cater to the distinctly different tastes and needs of the Chinese and western guests.
One pet peeve is that food servers cannot describe the menu because they never get to taste the food, a problem that should be easily rectified.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WilliamSG The Westin Beijing Financial Street - A Hotel that Touches Your Heart!
An interesting hotel that have been enhancing their personalized services through the years and always has a smile for everyone especially for regular frequent travellers like us where we are away from our homes and loved ones. A great decorated Christmas view at the hotel lounge served by drinks prepared in a detailed manner and if you do drop in to the Westin Executive Club, the local team is always ready to provide the highest service level with a personalized touch especially on a cold and snowy Beijing winter!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Expat66 Good stay with a couple of issues
I have stayed at the Westin Financial several times. I am generally impressed with the staff and the facility. It has been a year since my last stay at the Westin Financial. I have two complaints related to my recent two-night stay in October.
The breakfast service was not able to keep up with the volume of customers. The large number of tour groups staying at this hotel creates a more chaotic atmosphere. The buffet area was crowded, popular dishes were quickly depleted and it was difficult to get coffee refills. I usually look forward to the breakfast buffet but this was not an enjoyable experience.
My second complaint is due to a simple mistake. I noticed on my SPG account that I was credited with having a bonus drink upon check in. I did not have a drink and it is my habit to ask for the 250 points instead. This is not a big deal, but I would appreciate if I could be credited with the 250 points.
Beyond this, our group held a small seminar at the hotel and I would like to give credit where credit is due: the seminar room, equipment and the catering was very good.

This hotel is outstanding. The Executive Club lounge is one of the best I have seen. The breakfast buffet is great also. The Guest Services staff in the lobby was extremely helpful - Jasmine gave me great advice on where to eat in the area, and how best to cope with Beijing traffic. The suites are great for extended stays. A really outstanding hotel!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by RN2012 Great service!
I am extremely satisfied with the service I continue to receive at this hotel. All the staff make a point of referring to me by my name, which makes me feel at home and appreciated. The attention to detail is exemplary and the speed and efficiency of the service is second to none.
Great job, especially Lebraon, Leon, and Kitty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by thegoodmeister Staff and service are fantastic
As a platinum SPG membe, I find that the customer service and staff at the Executive Club are the friendliest and most responsive to my needs of any other SPG property I have been to. I am always greeted by name and requests are fulfilled without delay.
Each visit is a pleasurable one. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Richard The best Westin hotel in Beijing
There are two Westin hotels in Beijing. I travel to Beijing every two weeks. This hotel, Westin in Financial Street, is much better than the other one. The staff in the Financial Street are excellent. I really feel warm and comfortable there. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in the west side of Beijing, the quieter side, near all major financial institutions. Not surrounded by clogged streets. Easy access via 2nd Ring Road West. Close to subway stations. Can see the real local Beijing, not tourist environment. The service is world class. Executive managers are readily available and provide immediate attention to issues. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Food in the restaurants is excellent. Even guests from hotels nearby come to dine in this hotel. The executive chefs are trained overseas with extensive experience. Senses provides international cuisine. Try the buffet, especially the Sunday Brunch Buffet. Prego provides excellent Italian casual cuisine. If you have special requests, the chefs will try to accomodate. They usually exceed expectations. Excellent choice for stay in Beijing, even if you have business meetings in the East side. Executive Lounge provides world class service. From eggs you prefer to cocktails of your choice. Very helpful and charming staff.

This hotel is excellent. I had great experiences and enjoyed my stay with almost 100% satisfaction. The only problem was with the Chinese restaurant in the hotel, named Jewel. The service was slow and was not well managed.

I enjoyed a lot during my stay at Westin! The comfortness in the hotel room is unbeatable. I like the shower & the greening interior/ skincare products in the toilet. It's great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by BillHK Great but ....
One key aspect for international travellers is accessing the world. In China, this is an occasional issue: Internet access.
The speed/bandwidth in Westin Financial can certainly be improved. But more importantly, is the availability of smooth/unobstructed access to external (outside China) servers/services. My company has outsourced email to Google and I had major difficulty access Google Business App servers during my stay. This is hotel specific issue as I had been able to obtain unobstructed access in other Starwood and other International hotels in Beijing so Westin Financial Street provide similar accessibility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SJC6678 The best experience in Beijing
I don't remember how many times that I get back to this hotel since it opening. I guess this is the 6th or may be the 7th stay in there. Like most of other starwood hotels, the facitility, which I would like to call it "hardware", is always good, such like, location, appearance, cleaness, comfortness etc. But, what special of this Westin is "software", which I mean the service and attitude. Every hotel staff, no matter bell captain, front desk, housing keeping, etc., doesn't matter manager or regular staff, that I met during my past stays is always has warm and good altitude. They are so nice to take care every detail. I feel like the hotel is my "home in Beijing". Resturant provide excellent food, and service. It is an excellent hotel that I would like to highly recommended to everyone.

I always enjoy my stay in Westin, especially the one in Beijing financial street.
Their staffs are so friendly and very helpful.
You can always see smiles on their faces, which are really making my whole stay as comfortable as home.
I would like to thank the front desk staffs, great service, as a gold card member, they can always recognise me and really take care of all my needs. They are very efficient when I check in. Look forward to my next stay soon.

Rated 2 out of 5 by pt1traveler Tired Hotel with subpar service in Good Location
If you have meetings in the area, then maybe stay here. For a Westin, this place is a bit worn out. The lighting in the main lobby is not appealing, making the ambiance a bit dull. The carpets in the hallways and rooms are worn out. The service at the restaurants was not on par with 5-star. Servers don't seem to speak English and will walk around, but are not attentive. Check in took more than 10 minutes. The room fittings seemed pretty good. Room service with order of Hai Nan chicken was poor as the chicken was either not fresh or over steamed. Other than that, this hotel is in a great location, if you have meetings with the major banks, but you can likely get better value for money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GShaw7 Convenient if you have meetings on Financial St
I don't think think the staff even cared about my Platinum status when I checked in. I did not get an upgrade, but he did say if the hotel was full. He did not ask if I wanted to check in at the lounge, or what my preference was in terms of welcome gift.
After my swim in the morning, my room card did not work in 2 elevator so I had to go down to the lobby in my bath robe. Instead of just accompanying me up to my room, I was told by lobby staff to go to the front desk to get interrogated before obtaining another room card.
At breakfast in the lounge, service was rather slow to get a order of eggs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anna567 The hotel staff lacks standards in cleanliness
I am very disgusted with the way the hotel staff handles the cleanliness and hygiene of the food at breakfast. The chef dropped the dumpling on the dirty table top and picked it up with his bare hands, threw it into the bowl and served it to me. This appears to me as a standard of the local chinese hotel and not an international hotel chain. I will never stay in this hotel for any future trips. There are other disappointing observations but I shall not elaborate further. I will also not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RobertB the most heavenly of heavenly beds
i don't know why but when we went to bed, we just melted into it and slept like logs. the room was incredibly quiet and comfortable. platinum recognition and benefits were excellent. we were given a Renewal Room which was very spacious. the bathroom was very large with a large walk-in shower/bath combination. the walk in closet was great as well.
the lounge at this hotel was one of the best i've experienced at any starwood hotel. the staff spoiled us rotten. the food selection at breakfast and dinner was excellent and varied.
being only 2 blocks south of the fuchengmen station on the No. 2 subway line, it was easy to get around. I would definitely go back to this hotel next time i'm in Beijing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kathyg70 Jewel restaurant
Having flown all night we were interested in having some dinner at the hotel because of the convenience. The Jewel restaurant is their high end one...boy is it expensive! We ordered some sweet and sour soup with a vegetable appetizer and a tofu appetizer. My husband hand the shrimp dinner with fried rice. We had some a small bottle of Chinese hot wine for the four of us and the bill was over $175.00!
Plus the lighting is dim so reading the small print menu with grey writing is very difficult to see.
It was all very tasty, but very overpriced!

I would like to say thank you to the staff that make my last stay like going back home.
Eric helped to prepare all check in stuffs well before my arrival and I can check in within 1 minutes and can be in the room right away. Efficient and caring.
Darcy make my breakfast time brillant. All food were prepared as my usual requirement. You just think that you are at home and are well looked after. Many thanks to Darcy.
Westin Financial Street is my favourite in Beijing. The staff are making their effort to get me a feeling of returning home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Will81 Excellent Facilities Supported by Profesional and Friendly Staff
It was me and my wife's first time staying at the Westin Beijing Financial and we where very glad that the experience surpassed our expectations.
The hotel facilities like the loby lounge, room and pool where where nice and comfortable, and we certainly enjoyed the spectacular view of Beijing's Financial Center from the Executive Lounge.
The most enjoyable part was the attentiveness of the staff through our stay. From having my wife's (which is 7 month pregnant) favorite comfort food laid out in the room upon our arrival, to the friendly attitude of the executive lounge staff who made their best to make sure we where comfortable and had a great experience.
Coming from very seasoned travelers, this is certainly one of the best hotels to stay in Beijing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Polonius45 Friendly but fraying a bit at the edges
First the good things. The staff were delightful and very helpful. My room ws big and comfortable. Buffet breakfast had a wide choice, and the chef cooked eggs freshly for you if you wanted.
But I had 4 reservations:
1) The pool area and changing room were very disappointing: they need renewal.
2) I had to ask for turn down service every night.
3)The walls of the room were thin, and I heard every noise next door.
4) I was surprised that guests are not automatically given a daily newspaper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by azimeer71 Wonderful Stay
In addition to the usual comfort and professional service provided. The shining example was the airport pickup at Beijing's airport, the person was waiting for us when we came out of the aircraft door. He assisted us thru immigration, baggage and straight thru customs and into the car. Once we reached the hotel, the reception was waiting at the door of the hotel and hurried the check-in service. SPG membership's at its best.

Rated 4 out of 5 Attention should be given on reservation
It is a confusing experience on reservation as we planned to have an extended stay in Westin until end Jul 2013 with possible further extension. But there would be a short return to home town in Hong Kong every 2-3 weekend. The rate should be fixed during the stay but the staff mentioned that the rate should be changing according to the market situation upon second check-in on 20 May 2013. It is still negotiating.....

Rated 2 out of 5 by Eagleone There're unsatisfactory matters.
The shower facility had unstable hot water supply, hence the water temperature between hot and cold, which was extremely uncomfortable. Switching room did resolve the issue but such extra packing and moving was also very troublesome for a short stay.
The SPG gold card seemed useless. The counter did not recognize the gold card status and did not consider nor apply gold card benefit at this stay. Rather disappointing.

i was travelling from India and i think there might be other Indians coming down to this hotel. i am pure Vegetarian and cant eat even eggs. there might many others like me. i could not find any item in the menu card that i can have. i think there is a scope here to introduce few pure veg indian food items made available to guests on demand.
