Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel Poor Resturant Service The room was great, as well as the customer service by all staff in the hotel. Great view, Great location, happy employess.Will definatly return to this hotel in the future. However our experience in the resturant was BELOW expectations by far. We arrived at about 9pm to eat. Had to wait 45 minutes for a table, once we were seated there were not even enough chairs at the table to accomadate the 4 of us. After ordering drinks from the bar 10 minutes later the server returned to the table without the drinks. When we asked her what was taking so long she stated "the bartender is giving me a hard time, because they have put there things away for the night, and it will be ready when he puts it up." 5 minutes later our drinks arrived at the table, and we were told if you want anymore drinks you may go to the lobby bar to get them. This kind of ruined our experience in the resturant, and the fact the drinks were so expensive and took so long we never returned to this resturant, it seemed as if we were being punished because we had to wait on a table, not to mention the level of rudeness the staff exibited towards us. Rated 5 out of 5 by NOT a Heavenly experience I went to Charlotte for Heroes Con and we stayed 3 nights. Thursday was fine but Friday and Saturday were a nightmare. The Republicans had a hospitality suite right across the hall from our room and both nights I had to call Hotel Security due to the partying in the hallway and room. they were giving away free beer and wine to lure people in and boy did it get loud and rowdy. The hotel security man had to tell them several times each night to quiet down and it was always ignored. I was pleased with the staff, I had even gotten a room upgrade from a double to a king with no charge which I thought was great. I now think they knew that room would be in the "Party Zone" and just wanted to use it as the hotel was booked solid. I always stay with Westin and this was the first time I have had a bad experience. I don't fault the hotel except for the fact that they should have moved those people to a meeting room downstairs instead of letting them have well over 50 people drinking and partying in a room next to other paying guests who were trying to sleep. I will definitely check to see who is near me the next time I check in. June 10, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by High Quality Comfort I had an excellent stay at the Westin. Any issue I had was immediately amended (a leak in the bathroom sink was fixed immediately). Room service was cordial and front desk met any requests I made in a timely manner. Every staff member I spoke with was extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was disappointing...small and not very clean. No hot tub. The gym was well equipped but not air conditioned...even offered gym clothes + shoes for very low cost if you forgot to pack yours. The locker rooms were beautiful...had separate steam rooms for men and women. The hotel restaurant was great...also had a separate bar located in the lobby. They were doing work on one side of the building and I'm sure this will enhance some areas that were plagued with evidence of work being done (plastic and platforms). The location was perfect! Saved a lot of money on gas because it was right downtown/uptown Charlotte. Was able to walk across the street to the art museum and various restaurants and a few blocks to the epicenter. **The hotel could have charged less for all day parking.** This would be my first choice for another stay in Charlotte. Rated 4 out of 5 by nice stay but package disconnect We received an uptown view room and our parking was included in our Indulge Package. That was great. We appreciated that. The location was ideal and the staff was friendly and the breakfast tasted great. The only issues were the 40 minutes we spent waiting on Sat. night and Sunday morning as staff was trying to get familiar with the hotel packages we had and how to ensure our breakfast in bed option was paid in full. The package we had has fine print that apparently the staff isn't aware of, causing issues; but we were assured our breakfast would be paid in full. The Sat. night staff kept us posted, the Sunday morning girl disappeared for 15 minutes and came back with two bills, one was not ours. She did make an adjustment to pay our breakfast in full. On my way home I received an "updated" e-bill that didn't cover all of breakfast and also charged me an amount different than what I signed for. We are not the first to have package issues, so this seems to be an issue the hotel would likely want to work out ASAP because it's wastes valuable guest time and results in unauthorized charges which give the impression of shady operations.
