I stayed at this property on Christmas Day between family commitments. On arrival, the person at the front desk never bothered to look up from her book, let alone welcome me to the hotel. I did not expect a hug and a present, but an acknowledgement of the day would have been nice. The next morning, albeit early, was no better. I have never faced such rude service at a Westin property before.

My stay was in the Governors suite, and it was more then expected. The room was large enough for the entire bridal party to get ready comfortably and also enjoy themselves. Everything was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay.

I'm not one that normally writes a review. But as a frequent traveler and Platinum member I thought it would be beneficial to pass along this information. This property needs to be renovated. It is tired and certainly not up tp normal Westin standards. It is the first Westin that I have stayed in that has made me feel like I paid too much for the accommodations.
My comments have nothing to do with the staff as everyone was nice and helpful.

This is quickly becoming my favorite property in the FLL area. I love the Platinum parking lot and the 50% disocunt on food. Rooms are well appointed and the service is always a "10".

We had a room that the air conditioner panel fell off in the night. So much MOLD and Dirt behind it, I couldn't believe it. By second night had to go to DR. because of mold reaction.Room 1027. Then moved to 624 for last night. Ants were all over bathroom floor. Called and maintance was going to come but never showed up. Went to store and got spray and ant trap. Following morning woke up to soaked carpet by bed. Dampness, (wetness) ran all the way to the phone stand. Carpet Squished when we walked on it. Pillow on floor was soaked! Imagine that on air quality!
Went to dining room to eat. Only 2 tables besides mine. Waited 40 minutes for a sandwich before I questioned where it was Forgot to put the order in as she was in animated discussion with colleagues. Gave food free, but had to take it as no time to eat before appointment. Extremely irritating
.Dining room closed on Sunday during day..Odd as there are no restaurants close. Not enough chairs by pool so couldn't sit out on Sat or Sunday.Front desk nice. When we changed rooms he gave me some points for the inconvenience but when I checked out different man did it and he didn't say anything, so I said, " Aren't you going to ask how my stay was?" He said, We are so busy, how was it.?" I said, " Horrible". He said, " I'm sorry to hear that!
We then went out to a dead battery on our car, absolutely no connection to Westin, but went to see if they had someone who could jump it, but said "No, I have no idea who you could call". Thank goodness we had AAA. We are frequent Westin guests, both Starwood and on our own. We have NEVER experienced any Westin even close to being so bad.

Rooms were old and out dated. The room I stayed in had a little bit of a musty smell to it. There was no bottled water in the room which is important in Florida.

I have never had such a bad experience in a hotel. We were not impressed with your staff. You either do not have enough staff or they are over worked, no requests were ever met, unless asked multiple times. Waited at the check in desk for 10 minutes for the attendant to finish with a phone call, only to be pushed aside from an angry guest, complaining about something; your attendant did not appologize for the interruption or the wait. When I complained the only answer I recieved was they were "sorry". Concierge never answered phone, (tried 12 times in one night). Had to call the main desk from my cell phone to get anyone to answer. Very disappointed! I think this hotel ONLY caters to the Cruise guests; they are in and out. They could care less about the guests who stay longer than 24 hours. Asked for towels at the pool 2 days in a row, never recieved any. Asked for 2 extra towels for my children since only 2 are provided in the room, waited 4 hours to recieve them after 3 phone calls to the desk. I was charge $20 per person/per day over the (2) occupancy; I'm assuming this is for extra towels and work for the hotel staff. I could have purchase my own towels at a local store for cheaper. and believe me your staff did no EXTRA work for the Extra I spent to have 4 people in a room. Dirty around the pool. bathroom tub was not clean. I will never make the Westin mistake again.

I wrote a review of this place in the past and honestly they did a much needed turn around. Everyone was so nice. They upgraded me and now offer 50% off food and beverage for PLAT members. I only wish I could have stayed another night but they were sold out. Room service was delicious and the food actually came hot! - imagine that. WELL DONE WESTIN!

I stayed in the hotel in December 2012 for 1 night. It is nice hotel, but rather basic. Our stay was spoiled a bit by non-functioning AC/heating system and facing temprerature of 64 degrees that could not be adjusted. We were promised a heater that never came... Shame, the room was quite decent and comfortable otherwise.

I've stayed at a number of Westin hotels. This did not meet my expectations. A real problem exists with the heating system. The engineer tried to solve it, but to no avail. (We were there during a cold snap.) Housekeeping staff arrived at about 5 pm.This seems very late in the day. Beds comfortable; T-V worked, etc. Restaurant & room service were OK+

The property is nice, modern, clean. Staff friendly. I dont feel it should be considered an "airport" hotel. It's 14 miles away and with traffic it took an hour. A $47 cab ride! Not worth it for 1 nt. Wit-fi NOT free.

I had to keep reminding myself that I was at a Westin. From the front desk to house keeping, the staff was down right rude. The gentleman at the front desk said very little to myself and other customers I watched him interact with. Customer requests were met with just a "No". He didn't even try accommodate requests. On Friday evening we were at the pool with several other groups of people. There were no clean pool towels available (there were plenty of dirty ones laying around). We went to the front desk to request some. After 30 mins with no towels I went to the front desk again. After waiting another 30 minutes we walked through the lobby to our room soaking wet! I then called housekeeping for 4 towels and set the timer. After an hour I decided to call again. I was told they were delivered to the pool and she acted like I never requested them in the room. 2 towels finally arrived 10 minutes later. We were never recognized as Starwood members. We had to ask for free wi-fi. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for Westin quality!!

The hotel room was nice and comfy until I saw all the ants in the bathroom. The carpet in the room is dark so I couldn't see them there. The ants were every where in the bathroom, crawling on my feet as I was getting ready to leave the hotel. I mentioned this to the front desk clerk and she offered to give me points on my SPG. The 5th floor room was quiet.

Rated 5 out of 5 An almost perfect stay
The hotel itself is great. The rooms are nice, beds are comfortable, staff was friendly. The only problem we had and it turned out to be a big problem was taxi service from this hotel. If you have a party larger than 4 people, it is almost impossible to get a taxi to go anywhere. Beware! They will try to make you take two taxis and charge double but if you are persistent enough and call other companies other than yellow cab, you can get picked up.

We enjoyed our stay. We arrived late on a Friday for a long weekend stay. The hotel is convenient to Pompano, Lauderdale by the Sea and Ft. Lauderdale. The Hotel was busy with Cruise travellers coming and going. The hotel had nice fitness facilities including a sauna in the fitness locker room. The pool was nice as well. We did not eat in the dining room or have a drink at the bar but the facilties were nice and popular with guests. We had booked a junior suite and were placed on a preferred floor. The room was large, with two beds and a large sitting area.The windows went the whole length of the room. There was a coffee maker, fridge (hidden in the bureau) and a writing desk (though oddly no paper or pen to write with). Everything was very pleasant from the lobby to the rooms though here and there, there were some small issues. The Hotel is right along Interstate 95 and some contant noise issues. Can't complain for our needs though. Very happy with our stay. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We stayed away when the cruisers were about!

I have stayed at this Hotel a. Number of times and was very surprised during my recent stay! The room was dirty, housekeeping was sadly lacking and that was evidenced even in the room that I moved to.
Definitely was not worth the points redemption.

The lighting is horrible in the rooms as well as the noise level. No microwave or great refrigerator to use. Parking is ridiculous, forced to walk great distances unless you want to pay for valet parking. Had to walk past all those empty spaces, did not sit well.

Stayed 115+ nights at SPG hotels this year + consults on service every day.
This Westin Hotel has nice new furniture (Stayed at a suite on 15th floor) and some hotel staff that wants to help (like Franz; bellboy and Alyssa (IT) - many thanks to you both!)....
But; frontdesk staff does not get it nor is the upkeep of the hotel where it should be.
It is clear that the hotel has suffered during the recession and corner has been cut everywhere - down to the fact that they don't even have the Westin amenities (replaced with cheap look-alike versions).
Management meets guests request with: No..... - the biggest 'no no' in the industry.
Small things get's forgotten.
My SPG ambassador even had to intervene.
Get back to the Westin standards or I predict it will not meet the brand standards during the next review.

This hotel lets down the Westin brand.
It's just tired and shabby with carpets dirty/stained and bedrooms not cleaned well with long standing dust. If staying in Fort Lauderdale then my recommendation is chose somewhere else and this is from a SPG loyal customer

Very disappointed that you were unable to meet my request on my arrival regarding to room type. Further, agent at the front desk (maria) was not knowlegable regarding to the status of rooms and really unable to help me at all until I almost got annoyed by her reaction

Nice hotel with the nice Westin features. However, the hotel is getty shabby -- dirt, liquid stains, worn carpets. Needs attention fast.

My company uses this hotel many times throughout the year. It is convenient and has facilities we need for our events. The staff is outstanding. My only suggestion is that they update the workout room. It is old, equipment is malfunctioning and ventilation is not good. Outside of that, the hotel is good.

I have stayed at the Westin in Fort Lauderdale at least a dozen times over the past few years for business and always have a consistent and pleasurable experience. My only complaint related to my recent stay was that they changed the toiletry items from the typical Westin "white tea" scented toiletries to some other off-brand. My wife was NOT HAPPY!

Slightly below average compared to other Westins. Check-in staff not very warm, friendly or accommodating, albeit very efficient. In my room, the Bathroom Fan and 1 of the 2 electrical outlets did NOT Work. I told the Desk person when I checked out but didn't really seem to care about my inconvenience at all. Didn't even apologize. ALSO, bathroom, although very nicely done, was way too small and cramped.

I've traveled a lot for work and stayed all over. So needless to say I know the difference between quick clean value and what a 4star hotel should be.
This trip was to take my wife for a nice get away for a long weekend. This place from the highway at 70mph or from pictures on a website looked fine... This is a Westin after all... rated for 4 stars... but it's not, and it's not even close...
The problems started almost right away... here they are in no particular order:
1. Stained carpet
2. Toilet ran the whole time
3. TV hardly worked
4. TV remote didnt work at all
5. The bed squeaked every time you moved
6. No free wifi... ($10 bucks a day!?!!) wifi is free all most every where, including the value hotels.
7. Shower head made the pipes rattle in the wall. Zero chance of taking a shower and not waking everyone else around you up.
8. Little bugs in the bathroom (noticed this the 2nd morning) (we checked out after on the second morning)
9. Food and drinks were awful.
10. Trash in the parking lot...
11. Staff was useless... For all the trouble, they gave me a 1000 "Star Points" and $10 bucks off our bar tab, which was only $40 bucks to begin with...
We checked out a day early because I was not going to stay in such a place! We'll never stay in a Westin ever again.
We got a room for the night at the much much better hotel... They treat you amazingly.
Hopefully booking agent can do something for me.
