When I arrived, they had a room for my reservation , but since it wasn't what they considered a "great view" they also gave me VIP Lounge access - which I took advantage of to get coffee and a quick bite before leaving in the morning for work. This gave me a few more minutes to get ready in the room since didn't need to stop and get something.

Rated 5 out of 5 by QUEENIEDJ Great Customer Service!!!
I had taken my daughter & a friend for a fun filled weekend. I was very impressed with the customer service I received, specifically from one of the managers named Munya. He was kind, thoughtful & was always smiling! I had spoken to him on the phone before our visit & he remembered our conversation when I had checked in. He also knew I had my daughter & friend in tow, upgraded our room & gave us club level privileges. The girls LOVED it!!! Special thank you to the sweet ladies serving the club lounge! Keep your eyes open for Munya, he will take care of you! Looking forward to our next visit!

The Westin Galleria, Dallas is a wonderful hotel. We use it several times a year as a place to stay and shop. However, the quality of the stores in the mall has been going down. Several of our favorite places ae no longer there. This should be a concern for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Disgusted1 Charges not explained
After receiving my folio, my credit card reflected an additional charge. I phoned this hotel several (5) times and was transferred to accounting each time and left voice messages. No one returned my calls. I phoned Customer Service and no one could give me an answer. They told me to call the hotel. After explaining I had done this several times, they sent them a message. I am very disappointed with Westin. We stay at Westin hotels often and I have never had a problem. I want to know what the charge is. I will gladly pay if I know what it is. Oh by the way, the bottles of water in the rooms lead you to believe they are complimentary are not complimentary. The tags on the water are very misleading!

The Westin Galleria Dallas is a fine hotel, but our stay was not wart-free. When we arrived, we were told that our room was not ready. The check-in staff did not offer to take our luggage, which would have allowed us to get a cup of coffee or snack. Moreover, they constantly told us that the fault was that of "late checkouts" from the prior night. Guess what - I don't care what the reason for my room being unavailable - I just want you to make it right. As a frequent Westin guest, I feel that I have a good idea what to expect. Here, I felt as though I were treated like a commodity.

My friend and I spent a weekend at this hotel,(not the first time.) and the hotel mades our stay for fun and shopping so much better. We shopped and when got tired, we came back to room and left packages and rested a bit. Room was very clean and beds were beyond fantastic. The staff was so kind to us and helped everytime we had a question.
The only problem we had was figureing out how to use the shower. Took a bit of time, but finally got it mastered. You need instructions on how to use. We have stayed here before and will again when we meet in Dallas. Thank you for a great stay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tomtom21 Love the room but the food did not meet my expectations!
I thought the rooms were great, the shower felt so good. Over all the hotel was really nice to stay in. I would definately stay there again. The down side was the food. Maybe I've been spoiled when it come to great food but I did expect the hotel to have great food. Room service quality food was unacepptable quarilty; infact I could not finish my meal, the restaurant was better but for the quality it was over priced!

Very disappointing experience - this Hotel can't measure up to other 3-4-5 star Hotels.
SPG member doesn't give you any rewards at this Hotel if you are a low end member. Hotel in the summer always crowded and the staff is overloaded.
Air conditioning never works properly in the summer at this hotel.

This is our 2nd year hosting a conference at this hotel and each year I am amazed at the great service and upscale accommodations. This is a great venue attached to the Galleria and one could spend the weekend while never having to leave the complex.
I also like the innovative $5 "green card" that let the room not be service since I was only staying 2 nights. I think it is creative, responsible, and a chance to earn additional SPG points.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ll25 Everyone very friendly & helpful. Circuit breakers were out in several outlets & a maintenance man arrived within ten minutes.
A special shout-out to the bartender & server at the 2nd floor bar. I suspected I had a bladder infection & asked her for a carafe of cranberry juice to take to my room. She was very sympathic & promptly got me what was needed. My friends & I had drinks at the bar the following evening and she remember who I was & wanted to know how I was. Everyone around the table already had made friends with her & I told them how Mallory had saved me, along w/just visiting me late the night before. Employees like Mallory are the ones who make the extra effort to connect to your customers.

Hotel does not upgrade Platinum level to suites even though suites are available. The sky rooms are the smallest rooms in the hotel. It is a not a upgraded room compared to a standard room. At least a standard room as a window seat with a view!

First Merry Christmas.
I know its hard to please everyone.....our disappointment was mainly due to expectations from previous years. And that
may not be fair in some sense. But I felt the hotel has taken a step back. We stayed on the 20th floor, because of the wanting access to the exective suite and the shopping package. The new changes
( understand done in 2009 ) gave us a feeling that we were at an airport waiting area. It was cold and impersional without a Christmas tree. I guess you are leaning towards the 'European' look & feel. Remmeber where you are loacvated and who your customers are....in this market.
Staff on hand, esp Anna was excellent. She was the warm welcome that we were looking for...
Happy New Year.

The Second Floor Restaurant, the only place to get breakfast, is terrible. I have stayed at this hotel for several days in June in 2012, 2013, and 2014. The 2d Floor was very good in 12 and 13. Something has changed dramatically. My wife and I ate dinner there last Wednesday. My steak was almost inedible. We had breakfast there yesterday. My wife's waffle was so stale and hard that she could hardly cut it. My scrambled eggs were way overcooked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ROADEE1966 Nice hotel... but room was a mess :-(
Unfortunately, after being upgraded to a beautiful corner suite the room ended up being a bit less than acceptable. Water accumulated in the entryway ceiling overnight and resulted in plaster falling all over the entrance area. I made 2 calls to the front desk but was offered no consideration. There was also a very healthy population of gnats or fruit flies. So many that I was unable to work from the desk in the living area of the suite. Fortunately, the gnats were not evident in the bedroom. Pool and exercise facilities wonderful. 21st floor executive lounge breakfast attendant was exceptional. I suspect my disappointing room situation is an anomaly, but I was disappointed in the front desk indifference to my situation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tired NOISY!!!!!
While we always enjoy staying at this hotel and the shopping experience that goes along with it, this last time may have been our last time! We've never before encountered issues with noisy neighbors like this past time. The paper thin walls and screaming parents/kids next door left us with absolutely NO sleep on our second nights stay. The first night was quiet as can be, but the second night was a NIGHTMARE!!!!! If I had known I would be spending that kind of money for NO SLEEP, I would have just stayed home. I will definitely think twice before booking again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by charlie331 did not pass muster
This hotel although upgraded, had a definite musty or grease trap smell on the floor. The temperature in the room could not be controlled, it is almost as if they had a motion detector running the a/c. As you slept it went from 50 to 80 degrees in the room. I had to call to ask how to work the shower, and then the next day the maid left water standing in the tub. NOT my expected experience at a WESTIN. There for a convention mtg and the food/drink at the various breaks was minimal and not very tasty. I was thoroughly disappointed with Westin Brand on this one.

Everything was top notch and we never left the property during our stay. Kudos to Westin Galleria Dallas for making our weekend getaway a wonderfully memorable experience.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Maverick77 Improvement Needed
Every time that I have stayed at this hotel, I have the same problem. I take medication that requires refrigeration, and while I am told every time that this is specified on my profile correctly, I have to call 4-5 times before every planned stay to actually get a tiny refrigerator in my room. The typical scenario is that I call the first time well in advance of the planned stay and am assured that one will be there in the room or I am told to call back on the day of arrival. I explain again that the reason that I am calling well in advance is so that a refrigerator can be reserved and be in the room upon arrival, and that the day of travel is understandably very busy and I am again calling well in advance to avoid yet one more thing to have to do on the day of travel. Being a corporate client who provides much business to your hotel, I would have hoped that this small yet important detail could be worked out without literally spending over 1.5 hrs over 4-5 calls for each stay to get this right. To further exacerbate the situation, the person on the phone often cannot find the reservation or doesn't want to take the time to look it up by name and says they cannot find it without the reservation number. If I again ask and voice surprise that I have to stop, find a file, and then tell them a reservation number when I could be btw flights etc., then they always end up finding the reservation, but I am so tired of this game. I call back a 2nd time to verify abt the refrig, and it is like I had never called at all and the same antics start all over again. This same frustration happens until I repeatedly have to then insist that the person with whom I am speaking actually contact the front desk and contact Facilities and confirm getting a refrig into my room. Upon arrival, what usually happens is that I am again told that they will do their best to accommodate my request which further irritates me as then I have to go to Oceanaire and get ice to keep my medication cold until hopefully the refrig will arrive as I don't want to risk that the ice machine on the floor will have ice. The best person with whom I had spoken so far was Angela last Monday. She could find the reservation without my having to drop everything and find the number. She took ownership and she called the front desk and when she came back to me, she told me the name of the person at the front desk who was assuring me that there would be a refrigerator in my room. However, upon arrival on Monday, when I got to the front desk to check in, I was only told that the system shows that there "should be" a refrigerator in the room. Luckily, there was, but this was my best experience after 5 calls and previous stays. For the caliber of hotel and for consistent corporate clients like my employer, this should be an easy item to manage. I should be getting a confirmation from the hotel in advance with certainty that the refrig will be in the room without question given how far in advance I book. The other item that is not consistent is that there is continual confusion at the front desk abt the timing of the shuttle to my local work place. My recommendation is that guest requirements or preferences on file actually be read in advance of their stay and accommodated or else why bother having them on file? My corporate colleague traveling with me had specified foam pillows due to her allergy to down. When we both checked in on Monday, she asked and was told that they would be in her room by the time we returned from dinner but they were not there! Regarding the shape of the soap and the wire soap holder in the shower, the soap constantly falls out btw the wire slots in the shower soap holder so who designed this as they never used this as a guest? I have to put a towel or something in the bottom to prevent the soap for continually to fall which poses a safety risk of having to keep bending down in a wet shower to get the soap and I am in good shape. If you are taking me seriously and really wanted this feedback, then pls do reply with a personalized response. I also have 2 more stays already reserved over the next few months. It would be great if I did not have to make 4-5 calls per trip abt a refrig and instead your hotel confirmed to me in writing that the refrig will be there, what the shuttle times are at which bldgs. of my employer leaving from your bldg. on which days, and if something could be done abt the shower soap holder or change the shape of the soap so that it doesn't fall through the wire holder. I look forward to a customized and personalized reply given the amt of time that I took to write this detailed feedback, and that I am a corporate client with additional planned stays. I think accommodation with concierge access would be warranted for corporate clients from a long standing corp client like my employer. I travel to Dallas frequently and decided to give the Galleria another try since last yr, but nothing changed for the better on what is a simple item, refrig, but critical for me to have. With the exception of Angela with whom I spoke on Monday before boarding my flight, all of the others did not take responsibility even though I stressed the need for a small refrig for medication. I look forward to your reply. Thanks

Customer Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. Our room requirements were accommodated. Extra linens/towel provided in timely manner. Front desk identified us by name during phone calls. Noted free bottled water appreciated. Best gym we have seen in a hotel with dumbbells up to 100lbs, enough variety of machines, cardio (stepper, 2 types of bikes recumbent and regular, ellipitcals, treadmills) free towel, earphones, and water. Amazing attention to detail is apparent from the walls, lightenings, furnishings and customer service. OUTSTANDING!

My room was on the 5th floor facing the highway. Noise from the highway became very noticeable around 5:30 am. Try to get a room on the mall side. There's not much of a view from either side so you're not going to miss anything.
The excellent bed and bedding don't make up for the disturbed sleep.
Wireless internet would cut out so don't waste your time and just plug in the ethernet cable.
Dine-in options are very expensive. The hotel does not have a lobby store to buy pop, chips, mini-souvenirs, etc. and there was nothing like that within the mall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Charlie53 Outstanding Service from an Outstanding Staff
While this is an excellent hotel in terms of facilities and location, what made this property truly stand out for my wife and me was the service. It began before we checked in as Gus, the evening manager, not only corrected an upgrade for points redemption problem I had with SPG Reservations and the SPG Gold Desk but also went out of his way to make up for the trouble I experienced even though it wasn't the hotel's fault. The check in staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and the two staff people working in the Club Lounge were very cordial and attentive. These folks truly understand how important even the "little" things are in providing great customer service. We will definitely recommend this hotel and we will be back.
