Rated 5 out of 5 by Creditcardguy Executive Club
The Executive Club need some attention. The food was Ok at best. By the last hour there was very little to chose from, what was there was alomst gone. Limited drinks were available. The person attnding it did not know much about mixed drinks. I got flavored Vodka without knowing this prior to receiving the drink. It was a good thing that you didn't have a lemon to add to the water since it was almond vodka. This is just not up to the standards of the hotel. It appears that someone said that you needed a Executive Club, so you added a token one. ..... way below your standards & your competition.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Using my spg card to reserve the hotel rooms is so much easier than I though. At night it was quiet in the room so good for a good sleep.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sunshine028 Attention to Guests sketchy
Overall, hotel met all of my expectations. It was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The only non positive feedback I have is around attention to guests. One evening I entered the hotel and requested from the front desk personnel to have two sets of cutlery sent up to my room. They never arrived. Unfortunately, I was tired of waiting and eventually used chopsticks to stab my food. This was definitely a disapppointment and deterred me from ordering room service from the hotel the rest of my stay. I was too afraid that the food would never arrive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OncDoc Good Meeting location
I traveled with my husband for business, we stayed on the preferred SPG floor and were near the continental breakfast and appetizer area. This space was nice. My only comment was that the food could have been nicer for dinner hour (healthier) and having cocktails would have been good as well.'
We were pleasantly suprised by the great work out and pool area. I especially enjoyed the roof top deck to enjoy during sunny days. It could have been dressed up a bit more with greenery and had cusions on the chairs, but it was great to be able to get outside.
We liked the proximity to shopping and multiple food options.

Rated 2 out of 5 by reallytired Felt like a second tier guest
I had a late check in, which was brought to the Westin's attention, but it was not noted, nor was i told i could check in, in advance to avoid waiting for the system to reboot. Then i received a room right next to the gym. All night every night, I heard loud crashing and booms. Not sure if it was from the weight room or from work being done by staff in the level below, but I could not sleep. Fridge was removed from my room as well. the entire stay was a major inconvenience. I will likely be visiting the Downers Grove area regularly over the next several months, and will be exploring options for hotel accommodations. A nice hotel, but worthless if guests can not get any sleep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DrMomof4 Excellent service
The staff at this Westin could not be more helpful and kind. Nothing was a problem for them.
We receiived exceptional care from everyone including the luggage carriers, waitresses in the restaurants and even the housekeepers. The Concierge always made sure we had a ride to our local destinations and made suggestions to help us enjoy our stay. They were very funny and I felt very comfortable exploring the city with their recommendations.
When we called for anyhting from the kitchen or downstairs , they were to our room in record time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by dancemomof3 Don't stay here if you need joining rooms and a late check out
I have stayed here several times because my daughters 4 day dance convention and competition is at this hotel. I always request connecting rooms but only received them once. We also need a late check out because the girls are not done until early afternoon. Their lunch break is after regular check out. This hotel would not offer a late check out. Even an hour would help. Also, the air conditioning in the hotel was up way to high. It was like an ice box in the hotel even with sweaters and pants. These are my needs that the hotel does not meet. You may have a different situation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by sakurakrys Comfortable stay, but needs improvement
I contacted the express service and they gave me misinformation. Although I was an SPG, when I requested contact lens solution, the girl told me to get it from the gift shop, even though the services guide in the room said it would be provided if requested. I also asked the same girl if there was a Macy's in the Yorktown shopping mall and if so, what time it closes. She told me yes, there was and it closes at 9pm. I walked to the mall and around the mall for about an hour and there was no Macys.
The room itself had a lightbulb that was burnt out and the door to the cabinet containing the fridge was broken. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable and everything else met my expectations.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Scales This hotel needs a wake-up call
The Westin Lombard is a fairly decent hotel property; however, the service is sub-par to any Westin I've ever patronized. From arrival, there was no bellman or valet person to assist my family upon entering the hotel. I had to self-park my car in valet. It was ridiculous all weekend long.
The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were very polite and welcoming. Overall, the hotel, the rooms and my experience were average at best.
I am very sorry to say that unless someone can step up their overall customer service platform, I will never stay at the Lombard Westin again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by insomnia The sound level was out of control
There was a large group staying on our floor that was hollering shouting chanting screaming and running up and down the halls until 4 AM. this hotel was chosen by the medical college for us to take a highly difficult intensive medical examination. I was not able to sleep at all due to the noise that was so loud it sounded as if these people were in my room. We called the hotel services and nothing was done. The same loud boisterous behavior was demonstrated the second night of our stay as well and again hotel services did nothing when called. I feel that this was unacceptable. The room was clean and neat and if there had been a moment of peace and quiet I might have been able to enjoy our stay but unfortunately it was like trying to sleep in the middle of a circus. TERRIBLE!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by wigstheome Consistent and Comfortable
Great Starwood Westin property that consistently recognizes Platinum status. The hotel has a plethora of executive and true suites, so upgrades are frequent and enjoyable.
Executive Club offers fairly basic food, but the service is genuinely friendly and warm. Gym is adequately stocked and open 24/7. Lots of free parking.
Great amenities within a short drive, whether Target next door, or dozens and dozens of restaurants nearby.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jen219 Hotel has great gym and focus on health, wellness
I travel almost every week of the year and I look for hotels that will allow me to have as much work/life balance on the road as I can get. I look for places with great gyms, options for food close by or kitchens where I can make my own healthy choices.
Here if you forget your gear there's the New Balance program where they will give you what you need for $5. They also have running maps provided by New Balance that I am using to train for my 5K.
The gym is much nicer than most hotels and there is a lap pool. And the staff in general are helpful and go above and beyond.
And - its the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. Ran into a pilot from American last week who had been flying for 17 hours - this was his favorite hotel to get down time in - and I understand why.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Buildmethemoon Located in a great spot
Upon arrival I was greeted by Pascal and he was very friendly. We were in room 342 and there was a decent view of people laying out on the deck...not what I want to see. There was a huge wet stain on our bed, a wet stain on the carpet, the bathroom was filthy, the Internet was a 10.00 charge whereas at any other place I can get that for free. The remote to the tv was disabled after the first night (we stayed 2), the beds were extremely uncomfortable, dirty towels were in the room, dirty floors. This is the first and last time I stay here. Way overpriced for poor maintenance and $10 wi-if. Horrible.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dance3 This hotel does not include several things needed for a long trip
If you want a hotel with a microwave and fridge, the is not the hotel for you. We attended a dance convention and needed cold water for our dancers. With no fridge, this was almost impossible. They have a limited amount of refrigerators for extra cost. We reserved one but never got it!!!!! We also like the option of bringing our own baggage in and out. Carts were not available for families who prefer this. However, the rooms were clean and relatively quiet and the staff was nice. The discount rate for the event was reasonable. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by wigstheome Nice Facility but Only Okay Experience
Checked in on a Monday night. While I like the hotel itself, and have had great experiences here in the past, it feels like the experience continues to gradually slip. Check in was fine, I was recognized as a Platinum member, and was told I was upgraded to exactly the room type I had actually reserved, so no upgrade despite the hotel being largely empty. Room 1621, a deluxe corner suite, is large and comfortable, with lots of windows, although really a large room rather than a suite. Other than some very ratty towels that had tears and holes, the room was in good shape. Decent breakfast in the Executive Club in the morning. Like the hotel a lot, but feel like the staff really doesn't care.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Joan129 Hotel was large enough for convention
We never got our sheets changed in the days we were there. The housekeeping never filled toilet paper our got us new glasses. They did respond quickly when we called to fix the door on the cabinet. The restaurant food was EXTREMELY expensive and not very good, as was the bar selection and prices. The bar staff was great as were the banquet staff. The banquet food was AWFUL!! Turkey too salty, Fish cold and had bones and skin... YUCK. The soup at the Holly lunch was good but the rest of the meal was terrible. Not what I expect for a 4 star hotel.

This hotel has a beautiful lobby and comfortable rooms! Location is very convenient as it is in the same shopping center as a huge mall that we thoroughly enjoyed shopping at! Staff was very friendly and accommodating! This hotel also gives a very nice discount to Midwestern University student families, so we always stay at this hotel when we visit my son who attends Midwestern. Only negative would be that you have to pay an extra fee for internet access in your room and there isn't a hot breakfast included. However, there is a McDonalds very close. Otherwise, we loved our stay at this Westin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pgdn44 The Hotel & Staffwere amazing!
I travel a lot for my job and have been in quite a few hotels - yours is tops! Everyone was kind & helpful with every question answered with a smile.
Two special stand outs were my daily
maid service (I'm sorry I can't remember her name - I was in room237) and Ilil at
the service desk. I had many, many boxes
from the Glow Convention and several suitcases. He took every thing down to my car & a friends truck for 3 trips and couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant.
Paul was fabulous also taking everything up for 3 trips.
I enjoyed my stay very much!

Location was great, but no one on the staff could tell me anything about it - like what were the restaurants in the area - even though there were many, or the what was playing at the theater complex right next door. Room appeared clean until you moved a chair or anything else - those areas had not been swept for a while. I was offered a reduction in the room rate of $5/day if I did not want house keeping, but the $5 was not taken off the room - it was credit towards eating in the hotel restaurant. It isn't about the money - it is something offered under false pretensis. Very comfortable bed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by vgray Sensory Experience
The cool sound of the water wall, the fresh clean scent of the lobby, the taste of the well prepared food, the look of the well lit mirrored lobby, and the feel of the soft comforter all created a sensory experience that makes this hotel one of my favorites. Even though I was there for a conference with over 800 middle school and high school students, I slept well and did not hear students late into the night as you might expect. The security was great and my stay was memorable. The proximity to eating places and shopping makes it an ideal place for a conference or a weekend stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DCRedhead luxurious conference hotel at a reasonable price
Great place to stay for a conference or just to relax. Not a lot of local attractions, but I was there to work, so it was fine. Gorgeous hotel, luxurious rooms, lots of amenities.
There is a Target nearby for small affordable necessities, and a mall with some restaurants in walking distance. I didn't have time to try the hotel restaurant or any of the amenities.
Had a room service breakfast - wish they served a little more for what you pay, but it was fine, standard room service fare.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PF57 Disappointed
I brought my own bags in from the car with a 3 year old in tow. The air conditioning never cooled the room. I set it at 64 just to get it cool in there but never went down below 74. When I left, I took my bags to the car with the bellman chatted with each other at the bellman's desk. No offer of help at all. With the price you pay per night at the hotel you would think it would include a mini fridge, but it doesn't. Even mid price to cheap hotels have a mini fridge in the room. I thought the banquet food was very, very bland at the wedding. So all in all, very disappointed.S

Rated 2 out of 5 by Renae94 Standards weren't met this time
I stay at the Westin whenever I'm in town for business and I've never had any problems but this last stay was different. Check-in was fine...I arrived an hour before check-in and was accomodated. However as soon as I stepped off the elevator on the 6th floor it was filthy. Paper and trash everywhere and the carpet was unusually dirty. I don't think the carpet was vacuumed until about the third day. The comforter on my bed was stained(chocolate?). Sheets and towels were stained(yellow and black spots) and bathroom floor was dirty as if it were not cleaned before I arrived. I'm going to count this as a one off and will stay at the Westin the next time I'm in town but overall it was not a comfortable stay this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TCL1 Makes a Convention Great
The Weston at Lombard, IL played host to our annual Golden Glow of Christmas Past. We had six hundred guest, plus hotel staff. I say it that was because from check-in to checkout the staff recognized us, gave us candy canes, were there for us on time, ready to help, and had discounts for us at the hotel restaurants . This was the best convention for us in 12 years, and the Westin played an important part in making it that way. Kudos to both office staff and on-the-floor staff. Would be glad to have another one there.

Rated 2 out of 5 by will2 We had some issues
We have stayed there quite a few times & were disappointed this time. We came for our 25th anniversary & the hot tub was not open which we were looking forward to & not told about, the refrigerator in our room did not keep food cold enough, the coffee pot did not work & prices had doubled on food. We would have to pay for wireless. Even the oysters at Harry Carays had quite a few pieces of shell in it & did not have the same quality as before. We were extremely disappointed & spent quite a bit of money to stay there. We will think twice before booking a room there again.

We recently had a family wedding reception and events at the Westin Lombard. The staff needs to commended. From the front desk, to the bellman to the catering staff and servers, the service was so far beyond what I expected, it truly made the event even better than we hoped for. The food that was served at the wedding reception was so good, we got compliments from our guests. The typical food at large events is never expected to be great, but it was certainly was at the Westin. While I normally do not give 5 star reviews often, it is well deserved here. The attentiveness of every person on staff truly made an impression on all of us, and our guests. You guys guys truly understand the meaning of "hospitality". Well done.
