Rated 3 out of 5 by hard to benefit platinum upgrades the hotel is relatively new nearby convenient location. hard to get spg platinum suite upgrades as always. there is no club in the premises. kind of boring.. drinking french primium wine in the lounge or room. you order few thousand $ wines, spg points never gets recorded unless u call them and wait few weeks. but hotel is new.. little noisy.. bad air in beijing next to the main road May 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Counter service is bad I've stayed in Westin Chaoyang just because it's next to my office building in Beijing. The check in and check out services are unsatisfactory. The staff is not well trained and there's no one to manage the line. 9 out of 10 times I would have experienced someone cutting in the line and do the check in/check out ahead of me. No one is taking care of that at all. Another time on July 25, 2013, I paid for my colleague's room as well. I asked the staff to print me her room statement because simply the "fund transfer" in my bill may not be clear enough to our finance department. That gentleman showed me "impatient" face and didn't say "thank you" after he passed me the sheet. And one more time, I'm asked to submit the form 5 times because the nickname cannot be duplicated but there's no tip or suggestion to customers what name is actually available. The review system itself is complex and not welcoming feedback! December 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Better service please Cafe - No tea spoon every morning throughout my 2 weeks' stay. Have to request every time. Staff were not responsive. Either they are not well trained or you are under-staffed. Front Desk - didn't even know I am a SPG gold member, shouldn't it be in your system or must I always use the SPG counter and present my card? I know Gold members are a dime a dozen but why should we keep using Westin if such membership does not warrant any recognition or privilege? I think your Front Desk staff have seen too many SPG members they are numbed from it. They should not take us for granted. Room - generally satisfactory but toiletries were not replenished even when they are not available. My 1st such encounter in 6 stays this year. Overall - During my stay I could tell it was high occupancy but I expected the hotel to be able to manage better. You could tell the hotel team as a whole did not cope very well, especially the cafe. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Exec Floor Staff As a Platinum SPG exec floor privileges included in stay. The staff at the exec club met requests for original receipts for meeting rooms, even faster than expected and always arranged quiet meeting areas in order not to disturb other guests. Transport staff were very efficient and polite, meaning that while costs are high for hotel transport service, it is dependable. April 14, 2013

I am healing in Heavenly bed. and seeing nice city view, using fantastic facilities, especially pool. I love mood of swimming place. FYI, This hotel is very easy to reach everywhere in Beijing and all hot spot is near there. December 16, 2013

I was in Beijing for a short time, but they were most supportive in finding ways to see the sights in the time I had. I've stayed with Westin twice -- Beijing and Abu Dhabi -- and found consistent, excellent service and very well-appointed facilities. December 21, 2013

I understand that booking an airport pick up for the same day service is difficult, but concierge should not say I can't help you because our booking is full to a guest. There must be a solution. Finally, the reception did a good job and helped me to arrange the pick up. June 2, 2012

Westin is one of my favorite hotels. i love the design of the Westin in Beijing Chaoyang. The staffs there are very friendly and great attention to details. I am extremely please with the room I had and look forward to a visit next time. November 14, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Improvement required The Westin Chaoyang Beijing is always one of my favorite Hotels. However, my recent stay was a bit out of my expectation. There was an empty highball glass with milk stain placed on the table below TV set when I checked- in the room. I called from the telephone placed next to the bedside, and again; the bedsheet was dirty too. One thing the Hotel reacted immediately when I went down to the reception and ask for a room change, it was done in 5 minutes. However, the TV was unanle to switch on in the newly changed room. It was also fixed immediately after I call. The in-room temprrature is too HOT which was fixed @ 26° and even I manually change it down, my entire stay was exhausted. Spa is good so as Cafe on the 1st floor, though food quality drop compared to my previous stay. Went over to the nearby NEWLY opened Hotel for dinner and it was excellent. Still want to give them one more chance on my next visit, otherwise; will move to experience the NEW Hotel. March 19, 2013

Except that when I checked out and rushing to the airport, the Bellboy did not have a sense to manage the incoming taxi for the guest who lined up properly (I was supposed to be the one getting it as I was the first in the line) and letting someone else came out right from the hotel and jumped into it... Rated 5 out of 5 by Lifetime Platinum Lifetime Platinum member and did not receive fruit basket in my room or welcome letter. Had issue with my room key not working in the elevator and I told a staff member and he directed me to go to the front desk rather than offering to get it replaced for me. Five star hotels are about 5 star service, not self-service. December 2, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Awful service Great facility, comfortable room, but terrible service. The front desk has no idea with SPG platinum member. The speed of service is very slow. Most time I have to call service center twice to get service. I'm always doubt whether there is training for the new staff. BTW, the facility of the pool is fantastic. September 21, 2012

Especially valuable is the very attentive and helpful executive club staff, knowing you by name and remembering your likes and dislikes. Generally makes you feel very much at home. February 24, 2013

I have always stayed at a nearby hotel since this location is convenient to the city and the airport. The Westin has it all AND the Heavenly Bed! The Club Floor personnel were very helpful as was check in and check out. Another visit is a must! July 18, 2013

But the lack of air conditioning in the elevators and lobby means that you can expect to be somewhat uncomfortable, especially if you are there on business and need to wear a suit to your meetings. Beijing is hot in the summer, how about some AC please? July 2, 2013

This is not acceptable for me, and one of the reasons I will choose another hotel in Beijing next time. In addition, the price is too high compared to the overall standard. April 24, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by The staff makes an effort to get to know you! I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times now over the last month and the staff has taken the time to get to know my name. They always try to refer to my by name during my check-in/out process and accommodate my needs as much as possible. I have been upgraded to a SPG floor each time, but no upgrade to suites. Rooms are spacious and all have a view of the city. The executive lounge is nice--with a nice breakfast and dinner/happy hour spread. However, they are not open to you taking water/soda outside of the lounge (which I have never really encountered at other lounges around the world). I have no tried the brunch on the 2nd floor, but did grab a quick lunch there--food was mediocre. I say skip the burger/salad/Western choices and go for something more Asian. I did really enjoy the 3rd floor dim sum restaurant! It's a little confusing on how to order the 'unlimited weekend dim sum', but just ask and you'll be helped! I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here more often. April 8, 2013

Now it is springtime and the set room temperature is simply too high; and not adjustable. With hot summer coming to Beijing, sorry I cannot return. Staff in the Executive Club were very good. Especially the Chinese restaurent Zense, price is high, food quality bad and the services is worst. Never will dine in this restaurent at all. But the breafast restaurent is good, good variety. Rated 4 out of 5 by No Multi-plug Socket Usually in an international hotel, the desk would offer a socket that fits almost all plug types available on this planet. However, this Westin Chaoyang didn't have the mutl-plug socket and my adaptor was not working probably either. It was not a pleasant experience. February 7, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Check out wait time!! The hotel is great. Fabulous facilities and good service. However, something must be done regarding the front desk. The shift schedule simple was off. Trying to checkout 6:30am Friday morning required queuing 20 minutes. There were 2 staff members serving 8 guests! September 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Problems in Room 2720 In generell this is a really great Hotel. Probably one of the best Hotels in China. But this time I had a problem with this specific room. The sealing of the window was somehow damaged and therefore it was noisy all night. I couldn't really sleep well! December 4, 2013
