Rated 3 out of 5 by No SPG Gold Recognition -Whenever I stay at a Starwood hotel I get the recognition and Gold member perks upon checkin. Not at this hotel. -Suede - dined 3 times. Evening waitress was unprofessional. Tablecloths were not ironed at breakfast. The pancakes and eggs benedict were crusty because the warmer heat made them so. -One evening there were people drunk making noise at 3am on my floor. -You allow pizza delivery flyers to be distributed to the guest rooms late at night. The person sliding the flyer under the door woke me up. -My bill has my address as being in NV. That's a first - probably because the check in clerk is inexperienced-Cashier argued with me about the name change of hotel from Cuasarina (being replaced with Las Vegas). -Left 1 day early because of the experiences mentioned above. Rated 5 out of 5 by Super Bowl weekend My fiancé and I just stayed at this hotel over Super Bowl weekend, And we could not have been happier with our stay. All of the staff was more than accommodating and fulfilling of all of our requests. In addition, the overall politeness of the staff could not go unnoticed either. Everyone was super friendly and always offering good advice. I especially enjoyed the nice touch where the manager actually left his personal cell phone number at the front desk should you have a need to follow up with him immediately February 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The hotel's customer service is superb! It was my first time staying at the Westin, and I was so pleased with their superb customer service! I lost my wallet, so I could only show a picture of my photo and government IDs upon check-in. The manager was so understanding, told us to add my husband, and accepted the pics of my IDs as additional documents. We also got a Chihuahua, and there is a pet relief area on the hotel property. The hotel also has one of the cheapest pet fees in Vegas, but the 350-sq room is just as comfort as the other hotels who charge over $100 or more for pets. The casino is not big, but has everything you need, and it is never crowded like other popular hotels (We were there for the Fourth of July weekend)! All of my special requests were accommodated (e.g., late check out, two rooms close to each other), which hardly happened, so I highly recommend this hotel and will consider staying there again when I return to Vegas!! Rated 4 out of 5 by SPG membership While the hotel is not quite upto Westin stndards (I have run into a few in the last year) it offers a decent room, just off the strip at a reasonable rate and is the only offering in the SPG participating hotels near the strip. I like that I didn't have to walk a mile from the front door to check in and then another mile to the lifts and the last mile to the room from the lifts. Room was clean and I liked that I could have the hotel skip servicing the room (I was there two nights) and earn 500 more points. January 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stellar Service! I have stayed in this hotel many many times for work in the past . This is my first time back in 3 years. Cosmetically the hotel needs lots of help.....but my disappointment in the freshness of the property completely vanished because of Easter's (front desk manager) amazing hospitality and welcome! Upon check in we joked and laughed and I laughingly made several requests that we both knew were beyond her control. However, she knew I was stressed and starving and she sent up a beautiful tray of cheeses ,nuts and fruits with a bottle of my favorite wine! She is truly the best Starwood brand representative and I will be loyal to this property whenever I return! Being a Platinum member I am grateful for the wonderful customer service from Easter and and all the staff at the hotel. December 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy walk to Las Vegas Strip The public areas can use some upgrading because it seems dark and dreary inside at first, but the staff , prices and amenities more than make up for it. We were there just before Xmas. Coming back after a long day of shopping and walking what seemed like a marathon distance, we found cookies and hot apple cider in the lobby plus complimentary wir and appetizers. We like to eat healthy ad the buffet b-fast has steel cut oatmeal and we could get healthy custom ineptness and chicken sausages. Nice touch! December 25, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Time to find another Hotel in Las Vegas I have been staying at this location for years. Staff is always great. Hotel needs work. I have been loyal to this location from being a Platinum member. Not going to do it anymore. Hot water didn't work. Shower drain didn't work. Hotel just seems run down. Las Vegas has more hotels within a mile than most cities. The team I traveled with had an even tougher experience. Not what I expect from Starwood. I will remain a loyal Starwood customer yet will need to seek elsewhere when in Vegas. February 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Starwood on the Strip This is a very small place sitting among some huge hotels. And...as a result, it's sorta' like taking a break from Las Vegas while you are in Las Vegas. It's a great location and the hotel contains a small but fun little casino....perfect place to catch up with friends before heading out. I also like it because it's very convenient to CES. Last time I was there, I walked to the Smithsonian Atomic Bomb museum which is only a few blocks away. It's also a quick walk to the larger high profile hotels. If you want a low key and comfortable 'Vegas experience, this is it! November 25, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel is not up to the Westin tradition. The hotel was showing a lot of age physically. Our air conditioner did not cool below 75 degrees. Housekeeping did not sow to clean our room until after 3:00 pm. When we asked to change rooms, the front desk would not accommodate us. Our cleaning lady called down to the front desk to tell them that there was a room available across the hall. My wife was especially perturbed with the whole experience. We have stayed at this hotel at least 3 times. This was our worst experience. August 7, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by SPG points is the only reason to stay I recently completed a 4 night stay at this hotel. I'm not sure how old the hotel is, but it is in definite need of improvements. The hallways are marked up pretty bad. The metal soap holder in my shower was rusty...gross! This hotel is definitely not up to Westin standards. I truly believe the only reason to stay at this hotel is for spg points/reward stay. There are many other much nicer hotels that are located on the strip (not behind it) in a comparable price range. Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel worn and tired Although the hotel is in a great location and just a walk away from the strip, it's tired and needs updating. We were very disappointed and surely thought we'd have a much nicer stay as with other Westin properties. Westin is usually a trusted, upper scale hotel. Not this property. Décor in rooms very boring, rooms worn and tired with dirty showers/tile and stained rugs. Felt like we didn't want to touch anything. Received no recognition as a Starwood Preferred Guest. Rated 2 out of 5 by The hotel needs improvements I was in Las Vegas for a week on business, checking in Sunday evening. I was unable to connect to the internet via ethernet cable or wireless on Sunday or Monday. I called the front desk/technical support at least eight times. Two of those times I was told an engineer was coming to my room to fix the problem, no one ever showed up. Tuesday morning I checked out and moved to another hotel. I missed out on the SPG points because no one could reset the router in my room. July 29, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Vegas stay I selected the hotel for the 82 degree heated pool for the kids. The pool was ice cold (<50) because the person managing the hearing of the pool was on vacation. Only one person who knows how to work the heating system. This ruined the kids' vacation, which in turned ruined my vacation. One night we got back to the hotel at 6pm and the room was not touched by housecleaning. I had to call the front desk to send somebody up. This experience will make me rethink SPG. December 29, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Starwood slipping This hotel cost 12,000 points, which equals nearly $500/night. The pool is a joke, plus on this occasion, we had the unfortunate experience of having O'Shea's blown up at 2-3 AM(yes, folks, in the morning). Helicopters hovering outside the room for an hour, then the big explosion. No one mentioned this would happen--pretty sad. I had driven from Phoenix, and had a 350 mile drive the next day, to Reno, which was very difficult after the major sleep interruption. May 4, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Been here before - this time not so great I visited this hotel weekend of December 2-4th for the Rock n' Roll marathon. I booked my room in October on the WESTIN website. Upon arrival, I was told I do not have a reservation and the front desk staff insinuated I booked through a third party such as Expedia. Not until I showed my email confirmation was she willing to help me re-book the room. I was treated like a problem and not told about the happy hour and amenities like other guests around me. I was simply given my room key and told "sorry." I called room service for a dog bowl and was told "we're out" and when I asked if they had another option and was told "no" and simply hung up. I've been here a few times and I may try somehwere else the next time I'm on the strip which is unfortunate. I emailed westin las vegas with my issue and still have not heard a response. Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable hotel, off the strip I stayed at the Westin Las Vegas Hotel for two nights, and found the hotel comfortable and good value. The room and facilities were exactly as I'd expected, nothing more, nothing less, and represented good value for money. The staff were polite and efficient throughout, with the staff in the gift shop and coffee shop particularly warm and friendly. The hotel is a five to ten minute walk from the strip, and about a five minute walk from the monorail. June 8, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by WHEELCHAIR NIGHTMARE WELL, IT'S BEEN 6 MONTHS. I HAVE COOLED OFF, BUT FEEL THE NEED TO STILL EXPRESS THIS TO OTHERS. MY SPOUSE IS IN A WHEELCHAIR. OUR HANDICAP ROOM WAS LOCATED AT THE COMPLETE END OF A LONG HALL (CARPETED AND VERY EXHAUSTING TO WHEEL ACROSS). THEN THE ROOM, ALTHOUGH BEAUTIFUL HAS A LARGE CHAIR ON ONE SIDE OF THE BED IN FRONT OF THE WINDOW (HOW IS HE TO CLOSE?) THE WORST...THE FLAT TILE BATHROOM HAD 100% OF THE WATER FLOWING OUT INTO THE BATHROOM. WE ASKED HOSEKEEPING FOR A SQUEEGIE MOP, 4 LARGE TOWELS EVERY DAY AFTER SHOWERING. I GAVE UP AND JUST USED THE MIRROR IN THE OTHER ROOM. WE ROLLED TOWELS UP AND PLACED ACROSS THE FLOOR THE NEXT DAY (DIDN'T REALLY HELP) THE WATER STAYED ON THE FLOOR UNTIL AFTER MAD SERVICE EVERY DAY. THIS NEEDS FIXED. NO ACCOMODATIONS/PRICE REDUCTIONS/ OR COUPONS FOR THE NEXT VISIT WERE OFFERED. WE PAID $100 A NIGHT. March 17, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Okay but not Great Checked in on a Sunday evening; fast and efficient. No upgrade available (sometimes that is life). Room was definitely on the smaller side, and was relatively dark. Bathroom bordered on tiny. Furnishings were all in reasonably good condition, albeit showing some wear and tear. Sort of a pain having a casino in the lobby, although at least it is a lot smaller than true casinos. May 30, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Just OK I wonder what a regular room looks like if what I stayed in was an upgrade. The room decor was OK, but nothing to write home about. The location was poor, and a long walk away from the center of the action. Far enough away from the strip that I waited for 10 minutes for a cab to pick me up at the hotel when needed. The casino area is tiny, with no real action. However, the breakfast buffet was good, but not enough to make me come back again. October 22, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good location/Nice hotel but the smoking allowed in lobby--Yuck! I stayed at the Westin Las Vegas for a conference and was basically pretty satisfied. I had a very nice, comfortable room. The location about a block from the Strip and across the street from Bally's was very convenient. I was, however, surprised by the extra daily "resort" fee tacked onto my bill. It did bring some nice features such as Wi-Fi, unlimited local and US long distance calls, and use of the sauna and steam room in the spa. I wish, however, someone had made it clear to me at registration that these amenities were included in the resort fee, especially the unlimited calling in all 50 states or that the fee was a mandatory part of our conference rate and was more than what showed when the reservation was made. I would have taken greater advantage of this feature had I realized this at the start of my stay,, so I felt I really didn't derive as much as I could have from the extra daily fee. The very worst thing about the hotel is that smoking is allowed in the lobby with its casino. This is very unhealthy as well as downright unpleasant! June 30, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by I expected more I can't say that we were pleased with our visit. We stayed two nights. On the second day our room was never cleaned. We arrived back after midnight and it still had not been cleaned. We were tired and just wanted to go to bed so it made no sense to call down and ask to get it cleaned. Don't expect a good nights sleep. After getting to bed early in the morning, we were awaken before 7am by cleaning staff yelling down the hallway. May 28, 2013

We loved your property, BUT! the one very important thing we did not like and found very disappointing was it seems as though your walls in your rooms are far too thin... We could hear everything our neighbors were doing in their rooms and I am sure they could hear us as well. When a person in the next room would sneeze you could hear it as if it were someone in our own room?? This is unexceptionable for a property like yours. October 17, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Dining experience The cook at the Suede restaurant was extremely rude when asked if additional food items would be replenished in the breakfast buffet. My waiter asked if he will bring out additional items for those of us that have arrived a few minutes before closing. The cooks responses was, "we are closed in two minutes". He shouted this statement multiple times in an extremely rude tone so that guest in the restaurant would hear his response. A simple "no" to the question would have been acceptable. It appeared as though the cook was more interested in shutting the buffet down immediately at closing time. I will ask to view the quantity of food in the buffet first prior to choosing to dine at the Suede restaurant in the future. This way I will know in advance if it is worth it. As a Platinum level member, this was a disappointing experience at a Starwood preferred guest hotel. March 31, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs remodel I recently stayed here last minute because of a mix up at another hotel. I was not expecting such old rooms!! The bed was great but the rest of the room needs some cheering up. The shelf in the shower was rusting and the fixtures were old. I was surprised that the hotel was just 10 years old. Returning to the area again next month and really trying to avoid this hotel again. Not what I expected of a Westin hotel by Starwood. January 23, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Variable Service My wife stopped by the concierge to ask about availability of Cirque du Soleil tickets. The man never said one word, but just shook his head. On the other hand, our waiter at breakfast... Carlos? ... was a standout. The site is about a block too far from the strip with a seedy block right next door. Street people were camped out just off the property smoking weed though not threatened, it did not feel safe The pool was small and crowded. Parking was accessible and free. Mostly, this is not to usual Westin standards. Despite being platinum level with Starwood, we willl likely stay elsewhere next time in Vegas. July 26, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing Rooms We have stayed at a lot of Westin Hotels and this one did not meet the standards of the Westin name, The rooms were very small, especially for two people. The restaurant on site was terrible and so was the service at the restaurant. We ordered in-room svc and it was really bad as well. The rest of the staff was wonderful as it should be. They need to get a better chef and help in the restaurant and remodel those rooms. January 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by So much better than expected Had stayed at this property years ago and was very disappointed....This trip, it was really great.....The staff went out of their way to insure we had a good stay and that our every request was met....The restaurant was amazingly good for a coffee shop type of facility and the 24 hour Starbucks added to the convenience of the property. While not on the strip, it's on a short walk to almost anywhere... We will be back! December 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great customer service! Had a one night stay at the hotel. Location is not on the strip, but very close proximity, which for me, is very nice. What impressed me most, was the staff in the lobby made themselves readily available to assist guests. Very attentive! Also, Sean had excellent service at the front desk. Very courteous and great SPG recognition. I feel that the hotel works very well as a team to provide excellent customer service. November 21, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed When i showed up the computer system was down. No rooms available at 12pm and received call close to 4pm for room. As a platinum member, after sitting around for 4 hours, i was put in the closest room to elevator, and told I was upgraded. The guy at the front desk marginalized being platinum, mentioning that most all of there guests are high status, so basically just get in line. Overall not a pleasant experience. October 31, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Property is Nice. Staff is Not! This is a nice property very close to the strip. However during our stay, the staff was not pleasant and upon checkout the staff was downright rude and condescending. Also, watch out for additional fees on your bill hidden as taxes. According to front desk staff these fees are for such luxuries as coffee in your room and bottled water, as well as for the fitness center and spa (whether you use them or not). November 26, 2012
