Rated 1 out of 5 by great hotel not credit card friendly it is difficult to say anything but compliments about the Westin. My stay is always an excellent experince. Sadly, on my lates visit in Sydney i met a very upleasant surprise: i was charged a fee because i used a credit card to settle the bill! I was flabbergasted! how else does a hotel expect guests to settle a bill? considering that Westin is a major hotel chain, this treatment of customers is unacceptable and arrogant. June 22, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Location, Some Keycard Problems Great hotel. Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent location. Right in Martin place. Short walk to Martin Place Railway Station. Free City bus nearby. One block from shops. Supermarket on the same block. 10 minutes walk to circular quay and the harbour. Unfortunately had repeated problems with the keycard. Had to return to the desk about 7 times in 24 hours. But I think this had to do with the fact we had connecting rooms, and a common external door. If picking between Starwood properties Breakfast buffet at the Sheraton is better. Four points is a good location if you have kids and want to more quickly access the aquarium, maritime museum, darling harbour restaurants & kids play area. December 16, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by you have won me i stayed in a deluxe tower king room for 2 nights on my own in march. From the moment i walked in the door i felt at home.The atmosphere was great,the staff were very helpful and friendly. Last but certainly not least, the room was every thing i was looking for and more.It was spacious, clean comfortable and best of all quiet. The in room technology was great, even down to the tv speakers in the bathroom which meant you could enjoy watching tv whilst in the bath as the dividing wall between the bath room and bedroom was clear glass. the rain water shower head was an absolute joy to stand under March 31, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very comfortable stay fabulous hotel, in a great location, quiet rooms and the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in, if you have back problems, as i do, you will not have any trouble sleeping at the Westin, beds are amazing! The room was clean and attended to exeptionally well, the view of the clocktower was a bonus. We had problems with our DVD player and TV when we arrived and the engineer was with us within minutes to change the equipment, we were impressed by the speed and lack of fuss. Concierge and front of house staff were helpful and professional. All in all a really good quality hotel probably the best we stayed in out of 10 visited on our trip round the world! Rated 4 out of 5 by Quality Stay I was delighted to celebrate my wedding anniversary at the Westin. The facilities and overall ambience were of a very high standard. I'd hoped the rooms had better sound proofing as I could hear nearby guests yelling the next morning. My husband and I received complimentary sweets which was a lovely gesture. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends. June 23, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Meeting Planner for Offsite Conference I hosted a 3-day conference for my company at this hotel. The care of the Group Reservationist, Sally, was outstanding. There was a bit of a disconnect between Catering Sales and handover to the Banquet Captain, in fact, I never met the Catering Sales Manager that I did all my planning with. However the banquet staff were very accomodating. I did have a couple of last minute requests with AV for my meeting rooms and having to rely on the captain to pass on the request to the AV techs did result in a long wait time. Overall, the food and beverage and service during the event was excellent. November 12, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Service lets down a lovely hotel This is a lovely place to stay, - quiet, luxurious, beautifully appointed, clean, well located - but the service doesn't match the surrounds. My requested wake up call didn't occur and staff were so slow to bring coffee and take orders for the a la carte breakfast that I was forced to have the more expensive buffet breakfast because I could serve that to myself. Staff were however very fast to update the breakfast bill (while I was away from the table serving myself) but could not be found to serve coffee or take orders. A great hotel but the staff need help to recognize that these apparently minor but key issues influence the experience, and at such an expensive hotel it should be A grade all the way. Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceptional Location & Exception Staff I am actually Australian living in Singapore and throughout Asia my preference for business and holiday travel is the Starwood group and i am never disappointed the level of quality or consistency. When i return home to Australia quite often i do not see the level of service that Asia hotels bring (well spoils people with). This is where the Westin in Sydney CBD is different, the hotel and service is truly impecible from the time you walk in the door. Yes i understand Asia and Australia is different however Westin provides the consistency that make me return month after month December 23, 2012

Rated 1 out of 5 by bond ? paid in full via online booking a rate of $365 - prior to arriving at hotel, yet upon actually checking in to the hotel, my card was charged $510. I was NOT told of this added rate at all. No mention whatsoever. It was only when my bank queried it that I even found out. When I rang the desk to ask what rate I was on they say, '$365'. So I said, 'why then was I charged $510'?. Front desk then says, 'oh yes, we take a bond'. As if this is totally normal and I am the idiot for not knowing this. It might be nice if you actually advise your guests that you are taking almost double the rate - without telling them - when they check in. Pretty dissapointing for a hotel of this standard and comes across as arrogant. February 22, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Another outstanding stay This hotel is truly a gem in the Starwood system. There was not a single glitch from check-in to check-out in our 4-night stay. All staff are professional and very friendly. A special mention is due to the outstanding service that we received in the evenings in the Executive Lounge from Ho Yong and Sandra. What wonderful ambassadors for this hotel and the Westin in general. The food and beverage was of an exceptional high quality. SPG recognition was also good with an upgrade to an executive floor room. My wife and I are looking forward to our next stay at the Westin Sydney. November 26, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice stay Had a very nice stay at the Westin. The location in Martin Place is central to all things CBD, as well as major tourist attractions. I received an Exec room on the 29th floor with amazing views. The lounge was a nice place to have breakfast with a good assortment of foods available, as well as canapes in the afternoon (a smaller assortment) along with drinks. My only request is to have more non-alcoholic options (though items like sparkling water are upon request). Staff were friendly and the room was nicely appointed, though on the smaller side compared to other Westin hotels I have stayed at. The rainfall shower was very nice and while some people do not like the window to the bedroom, it was nice to get ambient natural light. March 26, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel good location Nice hotel with a good location with friendly staff and very good service when we needing something in the room. Everything was great until we discovered a huge roach. We relocated in the middle of the night to a lower floor room, the room was nicer but I prefered not to have a lower room as there was no view and it was noisy from the street. Relocated again in the morning to a higher floor. Better views lesser of a room. I asked if I could have club access for the inconvienece but it was denied. Something so small to make a guest happy especially after moving twice and fining a big roach walking across your wall above your head late at night. The Gym was excellent would be nice to have a wet and dry sauna to relax . March 9, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Executive Lounge The executive lounge in the evening was not good. No hot canapes only crackers and cheese and a few other little things. It was very disappointing. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent location and Impressive room layout We spent 3 nights at the hotel which was located in downtown area next to all shopping malls. Though our room was on the 3/fl, it was quiet. The room was very spacious of about 450 sq ft. and was comfortable with modern decoration, particularly the washroom. The 'Mosaic' restaurant for breakfast creates a relaxing ambience and the breakfast was impressive with many choices of hot and cold dishes, various types of fresh fruits and juices. Service was excellent and we find it very enjoyable and convenient to stay in this hotel. I would strongly recommend this hotel. June 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Can I move in? I am constantly amazed at the consistency in service of the Westin Sydney. The hotel is beautiful and is always maintained to an exceptional standard. The staff are always courteous, friendly and helpful. Your facilities are outstanding. It is so good to be able to attend group fitness classes whist staying at a hotel! And you make us feel that it is a pleasure to have us back again. We were particularly touched that you recognised it was our 10th stay with you and had a special delivery made to our room. We love staying here and look forward to our next stay :-) January 1, 2013
