Family Plan Policy

Children who are 12 or younger sleep for free in the existing bedding of a double room shared with a paying adult. Rollaway beds are charged at 90 AUD. Cribs are provided complimentary and available upon request.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mixed feelings A nice hotel in a good location. Good facilities. The only problem is the executive lounge. If you are traveling with a family, be warned that you will likely be refused access. We were turned away at 4:30p looking for soft drinks for our kids, even though the policy clearly states 6-8p is the only time kids aren't allowed (even supervised, for whatever stupid reason). This seems to me to be a violation of the terms of our stay, but the front desk staff just referred us back to the "lounge manager" who would not accommodate us. Won't stay there again, and there are better options near Circular Quay if you're looking anyway. June 22, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by The Rooms I stayed in the Westin Sydney for 4 nights, first 2 nights I tried the Tower Rooms and the last 2 nights I stayed in the Heritage rooms. The Tower room was very bright in colour, beautiful modern design with a beautiful bathroom overlooking the bedroom. The room was small though. The last 2 nights I stayed in the Heritage room which was full of character, beautiful large room with high ceilings. In my next visit to Sydney for sure i will be staying at the Westin and at the Heritage room, highly recommended. The location of the hotel is perfect, it is in the heart of the city and in the middle of the shopping area in town. June 20, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gold Coast, Queensland. Australia My husband and I stayed at the Westin Sydney for 4nights. We stayed in a Deluxe suite which was very comfortable, definitely a home away from home. We had two complaints. The heavenly bed was very worn on one side and the sheets were not the usual soft linen of bygone days. Housekeeping were helpful and found a replacement mattress for us. This has never happened to us at a Westin/Sheraton brand hotel. Room Service toasted sandwiches were a mistake, hardly toasted, cheese was not melted and cold with no presentation, cut once. Five star price although. This was unfortunate for Westin, as we love this hotel and have stayed here a few times whilst visiting Sydney. . August 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by I expect more from Westin I have stayed at other Westin before. It's always been good experience. However, I am very disappointed by Westin Sydney. The hotel room itself is fine. Staff is good too. However, the house keeping service is very bad. There were several times they didn't put new towel to my bathroom and I only realized it after I took my shower, leaving me no towel to dry myself. Also didn't replenish the shower gel/shampoo. If it's one time mistake, I can forgive it. But I had to call 3 times to within a week for all these problems.. So, in all this particular hotel is not up to the 5 star standard. For the same amount of money, I could have picked a better hotel. Disappointed. November 3, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Reception I arrived at the Reception desk on the monring of Thursday May 29th to check into my booked room and was told I had slept there on the Wednesday night and was due to check out on Thursday May 29th. I explained I had not styed there on the Wednesday night. The resception clerk disputed my story and it wasn't until I spoke to the manager that my situation was resolved. The implication was that I mad it all up June 1, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by A very good business hotel in sydney Westin in Sydney is a solid business hotel well located in the CBD and has much of what people on business expect to get when they stay at this level of property. I was not overly impressed with the responsiveness of the staff. Sometimes the services was a bit slow. The quality of the food from room service was disappointing. Directions and recommendations from the concierge were often a bit confusing and not quite accurate. For example, I was sent one block to a Spanish restaurant, but upon arriving there, found it was under construction. The concierge should have known this. Otherwise, it was a pleasant enough stay. Rated 5 out of 5 by Room Allocated I was allocated Room 337 in the Heritage section. It was late and the noise from George St was unbearable. I felt I was in the middle of a race track and the noise from the street equally unbearable. As soon as I made the staff aware I was re-located , same level but in a quite part. which was absolutely fantastic . I thank the staff very much. I was also accommodated in the restaurant for Sunday lunch . I wanted to increase my booking from 2 to 6. At first they were unable to do so, but after checking they did. Excellent service, excellent food. I even had dinner with a friend on Sunday evening! Overall great job! April 2, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by I am happy with this hotel At breakfast, I used some of the cutlery from the second place setting at my table, but not the serviette. When it was cleared, the waitress took the unused spoon and serviette and put them at another table. Does that mean that the cutlery which I used could have been touched (or even used) by somebody else before it was placed at my table? June 1, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bar Staff Training This hotel is lovely but the bar staff need more training to ensure they have communicated their requirements when guests are charging drinks to their rooms and have checked the room number and guest name before requiring the guest to sign again immediately below the first signature. Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad Service All the way Was greeted by a very frosty and unwelcoming and down right rude person. It took 10 minutes to check in. My room was NOT serviced. I left my room in the morning for meetings all day. I had returned at 4pm at it was not done. I had a quick nap and was interrupted at 4:30pm to ask if they could clean it then. I needed to sleep a little so I said "No". I left my room for dinner and returned to a still unclean room. Breakfast was very busy and there was one person to seat you. The queue was very long and the wait to be seated was over 20 min. Once again unsatisfactory if you are in a hurry for meetings. February 27, 2013

Sadly, on my lates visit in Sydney i met a very upleasant surprise: i was charged a fee because i used a credit card to settle the bill! I was flabbergasted! how else does a hotel expect guests to settle a bill? considering that Westin is a major hotel chain, this treatment of customers is unacceptable and arrogant. June 22, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Location, Some Keycard Problems Great hotel. Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent location. Right in Martin place. Short walk to Martin Place Railway Station. Free City bus nearby. One block from shops. Supermarket on the same block. 10 minutes walk to circular quay and the harbour. Unfortunately had repeated problems with the keycard. Had to return to the desk about 7 times in 24 hours. But I think this had to do with the fact we had connecting rooms, and a common external door. If picking between Starwood properties Breakfast buffet at the Sheraton is better. Four points is a good location if you have kids and want to more quickly access the aquarium, maritime museum, darling harbour restaurants & kids play area. December 16, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by you have won me i stayed in a deluxe tower king room for 2 nights on my own in march. From the moment i walked in the door i felt at home.The atmosphere was great,the staff were very helpful and friendly. Last but certainly not least, the room was every thing i was looking for and more.It was spacious, clean comfortable and best of all quiet. The in room technology was great, even down to the tv speakers in the bathroom which meant you could enjoy watching tv whilst in the bath as the dividing wall between the bath room and bedroom was clear glass. the rain water shower head was an absolute joy to stand under March 31, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very comfortable stay fabulous hotel, in a great location, quiet rooms and the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in, if you have back problems, as i do, you will not have any trouble sleeping at the Westin, beds are amazing! The room was clean and attended to exeptionally well, the view of the clocktower was a bonus. We had problems with our DVD player and TV when we arrived and the engineer was with us within minutes to change the equipment, we were impressed by the speed and lack of fuss. Concierge and front of house staff were helpful and professional. All in all a really good quality hotel probably the best we stayed in out of 10 visited on our trip round the world! Rated 4 out of 5 by Meeting Planner for Offsite Conference I hosted a 3-day conference for my company at this hotel. The care of the Group Reservationist, Sally, was outstanding. There was a bit of a disconnect between Catering Sales and handover to the Banquet Captain, in fact, I never met the Catering Sales Manager that I did all my planning with. However the banquet staff were very accomodating. I did have a couple of last minute requests with AV for my meeting rooms and having to rely on the captain to pass on the request to the AV techs did result in a long wait time. Overall, the food and beverage and service during the event was excellent. November 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice stay Had a very nice stay at the Westin. The location in Martin Place is central to all things CBD, as well as major tourist attractions. I received an Exec room on the 29th floor with amazing views. The lounge was a nice place to have breakfast with a good assortment of foods available, as well as canapes in the afternoon (a smaller assortment) along with drinks. My only request is to have more non-alcoholic options (though items like sparkling water are upon request). Staff were friendly and the room was nicely appointed, though on the smaller side compared to other Westin hotels I have stayed at. The rainfall shower was very nice and while some people do not like the window to the bedroom, it was nice to get ambient natural light. March 26, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by bond ? paid in full via online booking a rate of $365 - prior to arriving at hotel, yet upon actually checking in to the hotel, my card was charged $510. I was NOT told of this added rate at all. No mention whatsoever. It was only when my bank queried it that I even found out. When I rang the desk to ask what rate I was on they say, '$365'. So I said, 'why then was I charged $510'?. Front desk then says, 'oh yes, we take a bond'. As if this is totally normal and I am the idiot for not knowing this. It might be nice if you actually advise your guests that you are taking almost double the rate - without telling them - when they check in. Pretty dissapointing for a hotel of this standard and comes across as arrogant. February 22, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Service lets down a lovely hotel This is a lovely place to stay, - quiet, luxurious, beautifully appointed, clean, well located - but the service doesn't match the surrounds. My requested wake up call didn't occur and staff were so slow to bring coffee and take orders for the a la carte breakfast that I was forced to have the more expensive buffet breakfast because I could serve that to myself. Staff were however very fast to update the breakfast bill (while I was away from the table serving myself) but could not be found to serve coffee or take orders. A great hotel but the staff need help to recognize that these apparently minor but key issues influence the experience, and at such an expensive hotel it should be A grade all the way.
