After complaining to room service regarding the quality of the dinner salad, and the substituted inferior ingredients did not match the menu, no credit was offered. I sent a detail explanation to the info web site address. Not even the courtesy of a reply.

The hotel is very clean and elegant. However, when we got to the room I found a toothpick under the nightstand. It was at plain view as soon as you walked into the room. The room seemed cleaned, however, I was disgusted to see that toothpick on the floor. That shows me that housekeeping did not perform a through cleaning.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Westin in Virginia Beach for our wedding anniversary. We have stayed there several times in the past for family homecomings (Navy) and keep coming back because the staff always makes us feel welcome and pampered. I had let the front desk manager know that we were coming for our anniversary and when we arrived I was delighted to find out that we had been upgraded to a corner king and there was champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us when we checked in. It was such an unexpected surprise and made us feel that they really appreciate the loyalty of the Starwood preferred guests. The staff at the Virginia Beach Westin – from, the valet, to the front desk staff, to the housemaids and room service staff – demonstrate that they enjoy their jobs and that they are happy to do whatever is needed to make sure their guests are comfortable and happy. This is why we choose the Westin Virginia Beach every time we visit.

It was the first time in my SPG Platinum history that I was not asked about my welcome amenity, someone added them the following day, my room, which had a large wet spot on the floor, was not upgraded, perhaps they were full, no one covered that with me. Usually a great place to stay, not this time, swing and a miss!

Greating us at the desk was a great experience with Calvin. Calvin explained the proccess and had us in our rom in no time.
I also asked Calvin for a resturant outside the Hotel to recommend and Calvin sent us to McCormick & Schmick's Fresh Seafood.
Calvin made our stay enjoyable and I will be back.

Me and my wife really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. As a Gold member I was able to obtain an upgrade on our room. There was a minor mix up on the internet charge, but that was exlained in detail. The staff was very accomodating and very friendly. We will definately stay again when visiting Virginia Beach.

The hotel has a very nice outward appearance but the sheets on the bed in my room were not clean. There were bugs as well as hairs giving a very unsatisfactory experience. I understand this can happen at almost any hotel, but I will most likely not be staying her the next time I am in the Norfolk area.

Great hotel in a good location with Westin type service...only issue was the fitness center was closed, and the option was a few blocks away in the rain and wind and cold...in fairness they alerted me to this when I booked, but still disappointed. Might have offered a ride there given the conditions.

8 miles from the beach, 10 minutes, easy commute. Many good restaurants/ bars within a 2 minute walk! Convenient for travel and shopping. Better than staying on the beach! Centrally located. One major drawback is the hotel has NO concierge desk???? Really weird. Staff was helpful otherwise.

The room was nice and clean as I would expect, and check-in was easy. Unfortunately, that was the extent of my expectations being met.
We returned from dinner and I needed to run back to the car which was parked in the attached garage. I was informed that both elevators were out of order and I would have to go back outside the hotel and enter the garage from there. This was a slight inconvenience, but one that could be overlooked, at least until the next occured. The next morning I woke up and started the shower. Waited for several minutes but only cold water came out. I Found that this was hotel wide and the only solution offered was to move me to another room. That was hardly a solution as the whole hotel had the same problem. Fortunately I was departing, but had I been headed to lunch or a meeting I would have been even more upset that I either had to shower in cold water or not shower at all. In no way is this acceptable at a Westin, or at any hotel. A warm shower is an implied service provided when you stay in a hotel...especially when the rates are what they are at this hotel. Unfortunately, the staff did not feel the same way and had no solution. Virginia Beach is a large enough city that I will have no issue finding alternate lodging on my next visit.

A beautiful and comfortable oasis for a winter retreat. The Towne Center shops, while interesting, were engulfed by a cold winter wind, while our room, so comfortable and serene, awaited us... hibernation beckoned.
We resisted as our trip was to visit family, but it was a very restful night.

Hotel was clean , but maid staff was VERY slow to clean rooms. They told us they would get right on it because we had just got home from running a half marathon, two hours later they showed up to clean our room and I told them to just give us clean towels. Highly dissapointed in maid staff

Upon arrival, was happy to see a very nicely presented property. We were upgraded to a Jr corner Suite based on my Plat status. The afternoon front desk clerk was Outstanding (didn't get her name). She recognized me by my status and was very pleasant and friendly and confirmed a late checkout. The room was nice and large, but we found the bathroom to be in poor maintenance. The shower was missing the inside handle and the ceiling plate around the sprinkler was missing so you could see into the ceiling. The sink spicket was also loose. I left early for work and my wife was pleasantly surprised by housekeeping around 11am (Do not distrub still on the door). The front desk then called and told her that the room was already checked out and to vacate immediately. After some banter, she was told she MUST vacate by 1pm. It appears there was some confusion between the 2 morning front desk staff members, but they were very rude to my wife and insisted that the room was checked out of early in the morning.

During check in (1pm) I was advised that my requested room would not be ready until 4pm. I was told I could get in a dream room with a roller bed around 2pm if I switched rooms and she would give me a call when it was ready. I was never called and w. n I came back at 330pm guest who came after me were checked in.
The new staff had no clue of the set up the previous desk agent had made. I had to explain to the new agent the arraingment that was made for a roller bed at check in.
When I returned to the room after a day at the beach around 8pm the bed was still not in the room. I told another desk agent I needed the bed and extra towels. The towels made it but the bed was not there again after I returned from dinner at 10pm.
The bed arrived around 1030pm after I called and was told they were out of beds for the night. I told her what happened earlier and after she made a call she was able to find a bed that I had requested 8 hours earlier. I never write reviews but felt this matter needed immediate attention.

Beautiful hotel. Staff very accommodating, We were in for a family event; everything from arrival, to dining, to check out was handled smoothly and with many smiles, that seemed genuine, not forced. Beautiful hotel. Bed was a little harder than I anticpated! Would stay here again!

Our room was not checked on by House Keeping for two days, both days we had to call the front desk for towels and replacement coffee. The bed was not made and the trash cans where not emptied. Other then the poor House Keeping, the location and the rest of the hotel was fine.

there were 2 waiters in the restaurant when I walked in at 7:45 AM. I was one of two tables. I had to wait for the male waiter to complete waiting on a table while the female waiter walked around. She could have taken my order while I sat there instead of doing nothing.

The location of this hotel was great. It was not too far from the beach the highway was right there. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance of this hotel, parking is not bad and it wasn't too crowded. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable.

Air conditioner was not functioning properly during my stay. Bldg services responded more than once in an attempt to fix the a/c, but in the end it was never fixed. As a result, my experience was negatively impacted and was less than it could/should have been.

I have stayed in a lot of westins for business purposes, so I was disappointed in the cleanliness of bathroom & lack of maid service each day. Beds were half made and trash cans emptied. Bathrooms should have been spruced up and rugs vacummed at the very least.

We were here for a two night stay and enjoyed it. Bed was extremely comfortable. Room very clean. We had a corner room on the 12th floor and you have windows on two walls that give your room a very expansive feel.
Room had a refrigerator which was very handy.

No valet was available to help with bags until after we checked in. Second day we waited for maid to go to lunch and when we came back she hadn't cleaned. Last cleaning day, we were left with one towel between us. One of us had to dry off with two hand towels

I enjoyed my one night stay. My daughter and I felt safe during our visit. Checking in was easy and painless. The only thing I was not happy about was the bathroom floor, which could have been cleaner and less sticky, but overall the room was clean.

Really enjoyed the area, hotel, and parking. Ruth's Chris was in walking distance for dinner, Cheese Cake Factor for drinks, and the Irish Pub for fun! LOL. My room WAS OUTSTANDING....clean, quiet, etc. I asked for the same room each time I visit the area.

Starwood Preferred Guests get to stay on the fifteenth floor which had an incredible view. Breakfast was great. Be prepared to have your credit card not only authorized at check-in, but for an amount much higher than the actual cost of your hotel stay.

Outstanding front desk staff - friendly and informative. Clean rooms. Food was some of the very best dishes that I have ever had. During the reception our waiter -SADE, displayed exceptional professionalism. Loved my stay and will most likely return.

Great room, great staff. However, being in Virginia beach, not having an outside pool to catch some sun felt strange. Inside pool was clean, yet, small. I think an outside pool (perhaps roof top) would distinguish the facility for a resort town.

My stay was OK except for the POOL leaking and spilling into the main lobby. The Room Service reference getting the ordaer right and in a timely manner was terrible. Makes you want to go out to a 7--11 store for MILK and Cookies.
