The staff at the Hotel are superb. Very friendly, and professional. The only negative was the restaurant Fire and Oak down stairs. We waited over 40 minutes before getting our meal and they had the A/C on in November and the place was cold. I asked if they would turn it down and they said no. Manager only offered free deserts but no one in my party wanted desert. So after a 40 minute wait in a cold restaurant we still had to pay our bill in full. We'll never return to Fire & Oak.

As a platinum Starwood guest and traveller, I can say with conviction that based on my past stay at the Westin Jersey City, this hotel is simply wonderful. The staff and level of service not only met my expectations but also exceeded them. I transferred to the Westin JC after an upsetting/not-so-pleasant stay at another hotel in Manhattan. The staff, especially Vlera and Pat, were extremely warm, welcoming and friendly, showing genuine sincerity and taking the time, patience and energy in making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you both very much! Furthermore, the rest of the staff including receptionists, house keeping/maids, and doormen were all very professional and also friendly. Lastly, food and location were great. I would and will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The location is perfect for people who want the convenience of NYC without actually staying in NYC or paying NYC hotel prices. The hotel is about 5 mins walking from the PATH that goes right into Manhattan. As far as our stay, we parked in the $22 a night garage right next to the hotel. They also have the option of $31 a day valet parking.
Check-in was super smooth. The young lady helping us said it was only her 3rd day but she did a good job of telling us about the hotel and the surrounding area. She also put us in the room on the 22nd floor for signing up for the rewards program.
The room was on the 22nd floor and had an amazing view of Jersey City and Manhattan. The room was plush with the King bed with the big screen TV. The shower was pretty cool as well. Everything about the room was cool.
The concierge was a little short with us but he answered the questions we asked and provided us with a map. He wasn't as warm as the young lady who checked us in but hey its the east coast where friendliness is a rarity.
The other thing I was slightly dissapointed in was the lack of a breakfast. I just kinda figured with paying the amount that we paid that we would get a couple free meals out of it. Oh well, I guess I should have known that coming into the deal.
Overall, if you want to stay in a NICE hotel with easy access to NYC, stay here. It is worth it. If they add the breakfast, this would be the most amazing hotel I ever stayed in.

Without a doubt it is a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and affordable. The hotel caters to every need. This is the second time I stayed here and will look to stay there everytime I am in town. OUTSTANDING service and accomidations!

The hotel is crisp, clean and beautiful. The staff is very attentive and meets the client's needs very promptly with a cheerful attitude. The meeting facilities were very nice. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

This Westin met with all my expectations as Westin's generally do, with one exception - the staff at the hotel restaurant were exceptional. The male and female hosts consistently went out of their way to make me feel welcome and taken care of. Congratulations to you all - more staff should take your examples of pleasant, friendly hospitality.
One minor SPG related issue was corrected after calling the hotel after check out.
SPG Deluxe room didn't seem to be any different than any other room.

This hotel is unbelievable/beautiful. The staff is awesome/remarkable. The minute we step on the grounds of The Westin, we were greeted with smiles. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Debbie was awesome! She accomodated our special requests which made our stay more special. This hotel goes above and beyond to make sure you feel at home. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

While I really like the Westin, my business is very flexible in terms of early departure. I spent more than 50 nights in this location and each week I occassionally have the opportunity to leave a day early and I am being charge early departure fees even if I give more then 48 hours notice.

aside from the comfortable room and bed, the hotel is right next to a mall, and also close to taget/ home depot and supermarket. It's also very close the tunnel to Manhattan. And it also rent New balance workout shoes for $5. I was truly amazed and happy because I forgot to bring my workout shoes.

The Westin brand never fails to excel. Bright and clean-smelling, modern and open. We had a fabulous corner room with amazing views of the city. Access to PATH is superb. The surrounding area is bright, suburban-like - very nice. Our 80# dog was welcomed.

Although the hotel was a little awkward to navigate to from JFK airport, once checked in and unpacked it offers a great alternative to staying in Manhattan as you don't have to pay over the odds for a New York hotel but can easily reach the other side of the Hudson river via the frequent PATH train.
The room we stayed in was clean, well kept and comfortable. All staff we interacted with were extremely friendly and always helpful.
I did, however, find it a bit strange to have to request that coffee, tea, shampoo and soaps were restocked each time we ran out rather than having this happen automatically when the room was cleaned each day.

One of the most updated Westin hotels that I have stayed at. Attentive and friendly staff who helped greatly (receiving a critical package for me). Great hotel to stay at if your business is in Downtown Manhattan.

I appreciated the pre-stay email welcoming our planned stay and offering an upgrade for a reduced cost. Upon check-in we were greeted by "Debbie" and she was wonderful. She went out of her way to accommodate my sister and her requests. She worked to assist my Mom with her room requests. She truly was a stand out and I travel a lot for both business and pleasure.

I suppose that most of us want to see NYC at some time. My wife and I have done that twice. The first time, we stayed in Times Square. The view from our room was that of the wall of a warehouse. The street outside the hotel was crowded and smelly. Not so at the Westin Jersey City Newport. We had a gorgeous room with a view, across the Hudson River, of Lower Manhattan. Outside our hotel it was peaceful, quiet, and clean. We were 15 minutes away from Madison Square Garden by train ($4.50). The Director of Front Office at the hotel, was incredible. He carefully taught us how to navigate our adventures in NYC. I am reluctant to tell anyone how wonderful our stay was, because I want to keep it a secret!

Stayed in Jersey City for this business trip. Looked at ALL my options. Including AirBnB.
Worked out Westin had a great rate and grabbed the opportunity. Excellent staff, location, and stay. Area is safe, quiet, walkable, close to PATH, a mall, and clean.
Will be my hotel of choice when I return.
Viera at the Front Desk was the first and last person I saw. She treated me with professional courtesy and ensured my long stay was a pleasant one.

The hotel's location is excelent. 1 block away from the Path station, so its easy to go to Manhattan. Newports Waterfront is also nearby.
The staff was helpful, the rooms are nice
and the bar service is also great.

Beautiful hotel, near the water and a lovely park for running or walking. Staff gracious & accommodating. However, the lack of free wifi pretty much cuts this off the list for me. In this day and age, that is a must and it is silly that one gets it at more downmarket hotels but has to pay for it with the luxury brands..
