Just checked into hotel and we were told the water slide is closed for maintenance which was really dissapointing to my kids. We were told by the bellman that they were too busy to help us with our bags so we had to cary our own luggage to our room which took a while because we werent familiar with the hote. We will be here for four nights so i hope things improve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Zotz Beautiful Experience
We lived in Tucson for more than 15 years and just up the hill from LaPaloma, but never stayed here. We have since moved to Sedona and come to Tucson regularly for business and usually stay at another hotel. We decided to stay here this trip because our usual place was booked. Wow! we were thrilled with everything about LaPaloma. From the time we pulled into the drive until we left. The entire staff treated us with great respect and professionalism. My wife and I have been very busy with a big transition in our business and this was just what we needed to calm us down a bit. And to top it off, they are dog friendly. We have a handsome Cock-a-poo named Zotz that is also a service dog and he was greeted just as we were. The pet area was beautiful and our little guy loved it. We thank you so much for that as Zotz is like our child. (now if he could just get into the pool???) The resort is also a great place to meet our clients. We now have a new place to stay when we come to Tucson on our business trips, but will also come back for some personal vacation time too. We love your resort and Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ridley28 Can't beat the service.
From making the reservations, to checking in and out the service was excellent. The location of the hotel is beautiful. The only problem we had was in the room. The carpet had stains on it, also a chair had stains, the nightstand was damaged by water stains and should have been replaced. The refrigerator didn't work properly, it never really got cold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Canadian1 Overall good
Overall the hotel was good. Staff were pleasant and responsive to my needs. I was staying at the hotel as part of a 700 person convention. Although the internet is free, the reception/connection in the guestroom was spotty. Had I been paying for the service I would have been disappointed. You can't really be disappointed with something that is free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MJM0507 Awesome Stay
We stayed at the resort because my employer was having a holiday party. I had requested an early check-in and Westin was able to accomodate.
From the time I made myreservations, to the time of check-out, our experience was great. Very friendly staff and extremely helpful.
I would definately stay again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by HBfamily Family Fun:)
Last minute lay over that turned into the
most relaxing portion of our road trip. We are a family of four with two boys ages 4 and 9 respectively who were brunt out from all car and no Xbox! The main thing we search for in a resort is a large family friendly pool. The La Paloma delivered big time. It boasts a very attentive friendly staff, and the pool area is spread out into a largefamily pool with swim up bar, adult pool with waterfall, and a walk in kids pool. There is a even a water slide that was so much fun and enjoyed by all. This spacious property allowed us the privacy we needed to decompress and yet when requested the staff jumped at every request to include the personal touch of recommending amazing restraunts that were not chain boxes but authentic local cuisine brimming with flavor, local color andwell within our budget. We will stay here again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SophieJoy Not the norm!
This is our place to stay in Tucson but this stay was not the norm! In the first room the bed was extremely poor and we had to move to another room in the middle of the night. Second bed was okay but definately not heavenly. Also the A/C fan was very noisy requiring us to put pillows over our ears. Not even close to meeting our expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JB55 Beautiful facility, views and great food
La Paloma is a beautiful resort, the views of the Santa Catalina Mountains are breathtaking and the staff (DeAnn) are very friendly and thoughtful. I attended a conference there in May/June, 2012 and found the accommodations were excellent. The food was superb and the resort was very well run.
I will return to this beautiful Westin resort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Katenj Great Staff
My husband and I are loyal Westin customers and SVO owners. This was our first time in Tuscon and enjoyed ourselves very much. Upon arrival, the bellman (Kent) was very friendly and helpful. The waiter at the pool, Saul, was great and went out of his way when my husband left his cell phone at the pool. Property is beautiful.

Rooms were newly remodeled and very nice! Two beds in room were doubles, a resort like the Westin should have 2 queens! Sleeping with wife on double bed was very uncomfortable. Can here guest in room next door very clearly! Nice pool area! We did enjoy are stay and will come back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fairyqueen27 Favorite Hotel in Tucson
We have stayed at many of the major hotels in Tucson and now we only stay at the Westin La Paloma - it has become our favorite place there! My only complaint is that they started mowing the lawn on Tuesday morning at around 6:30 am! Also driving construction carts by our room. This should not start until 8:00 am!!

The Westin La Paloma has fabulous views of the Catalina Mountains from almost anywhere in the hotel. The view of Tucson at night from the front entrance of the hotel is absolutely beautiful - like a sea of jewels! The blue lights in the Azul Lounge made a wonderful exciting atmosphere. This is my favorite hotel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Wilson9 Overall, disappointing weekend getaway!
We were disappointed that the swim up bar was attached to the same area where children played. It seemed like there were kids coming up more frequently than adults. It doesn't really make sense to have an adult pool and kid pool, but have the bar attached to the kid one.
The power went out during a summer storm (not the hotel's fault, obviously), but when we inquired about the estimated down time from the front desk, they were beyond rude. They acted as if it was a ridiculous question -but it was dinner time and we were attempting to decide if we should go off the premises or stay.
The hotel is currently under construction, but there are little to no signs and the detour paths make no sense! It would be nice if they provided more information to guests rather than vague descriptions and a map that does not show any of the construction.
On a positive note, the food was tasty and the bar staff was friendly. Sadly, that's probably not going to be enough to bring us back in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by sedona12 Pet Policy Unacceptable
The hotel is in a beautiful location and has amazing grounds. We have returned many times and are loyal Westin customers. We were very displeased on our most recent stay when large barking dogs checked in to the room next to us. The guests put a "do not disturb" sign on their door and left the room for hours. The dogs barked and barked and completely ruined our stay and our right to the quiet enjoyment of our room. We were not notified upon check-in that pets would be placed next to us. We notified security as well as the front desk and nothing was done. If the hotel is going to allow a free for all pet parade, then why not designate specific pet buildings. I have dogs, but certainly don't want to be kept awake by irresponsible pet owners who leave their pets for hours on end in a hotel room. I don't think that we will return. I would expect more from a resort of this caliber with these prices!!! Front desk staff was completely useless and rather rude when problem was addressed.

Staff really when the extra mile. Both in check in and after.
Waiter noticed I had cut my finger while shaving and got a security guard with EMT experience to have a look and wrap it up.
Very friendly staff, beautiful views.
I enjoyed my visit very much.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Garzagirl70 Needs improvement
On the negative side: no one informed me of renovations when booking my reservation. Jackhammers, trucks moving rocks, employees shouting over the noise, all of these things were far from relaxing. Our first night's stay, we spent time in the lounge. It took 15 minutes before 1 of the 6 employees acknowledged us. There were only two tables of customers besides us, so it was not terribly busy. Once our order was taken, we asked our server how her night was going. She informed us that she couldn't wait to "get out of here!" It showed in her service. We watched as the bartender, licked her fingers and snacked on the bar mix with customers, then proceeded to make our drinks without washing her hands. This was not the quality I am used to at Westin! I once worked for a Starwood property and have always been proud to say I was once a part of a magnificent team of people. I was incredibly disappointed to see skirts with slits up the thigh, and shirts with too much cleavage at the lounge. Not the professional standards I am accustomed to.
On the positive: Pat, the bellman was a warm welcoming man when we arrived. He was incredibly helpful and never stopped smiling. Francisco and Steve at Azul were two of the people that were shining stars of our trip, as well. The young lady at the front desk (I, unfortunately, did not get her name) was also a pleasure to interact with. The food at Azul was absolutely wonderful. We ate there 3 times during our visit. Lastly, our room was impeccably clean. We crossed paths with your service team as they were cleaning rooms and each time we were greeted with a smile and a "hello". These small gestures go a long way, and were very appreciated.
